Chapter Fifty-Two: Delightful Changes

In the corner of the yard, there was a chicken coop and a rabbit hutch arranged in a circle. The chicks had grown up and, with Du Yuhan's careful feeding, would soon lay eggs.

Du Yuhan looked forward to that day coming soon, so that they wouldn't have to worry about not having enough eggs.

That pheasant was quite productive, laying an egg almost every day, so Du Yuhan would boil an egg for Han Yixian every day.

Du Yuhan once saw someone selling a laying hen at the market and bought it. Since the chicks would take some time to grow up, this laying hen, along with the pheasant, would fill the gap during that time.

After buying the hen, Du Yuhan fed it carefully, just like a wild chicken. The hen did not disappoint Du Yuhan's careful care, laying one egg a day. In this way, Du Yuhan could harvest two eggs every day, which was already very good.

Even though there were no eggs, Du Yuhan often went hunting, and the family's meals were much better than those of ordinary people.

Han Yixian is not lacking in nutrition at all; it's just that Du Yuhan thinks Han Yixian's body needs nourishment, so she doesn't miss any opportunity to give him nutritional supplements.

There are now more than a dozen rabbits in the rabbit hutch. Du Yuhan later went into the mountains to search and found two more litters of baby rabbits, which she took home. Now the rabbits have grown quite large.

Of the dozen or so rabbits, eight are female. Du Yuhan plans to keep two good male rabbits as breeding stock, and the rest will be raised to be eaten as meat.

Liu Gang and Yuan Qiwen take great care of their rabbits. Whenever they have time, they go out to find wild vegetables for them to eat, hoping that they will grow up quickly and reproduce to produce more rabbits for them to eat.

Du Yuhan and Liu Gang have been following Han Yixian's teaching schedule. They have basically finished learning the first-year junior high school curriculum and will be taking the final exam with the first-year junior high school students in a couple of days.

If they pass the exam, they will be in the second year of junior high school.

Yuan Qiwen is very anxious now. He often stays in the courtyard and asks his older cousin questions whenever he has any. He never leaves any questions unanswered.

Yuan Qiwen's grades are now among the best in his grade. This has made Yuan Fengshan and his wife extremely happy.

The couple is delighted with their youngest son's recent changes and hopes he will continue to maintain them. They believe that if he continues like this, he will have no problem getting into university in the future.

Originally, Yuan Fengshan planned to have his youngest son join the army after graduating from high school if his studies were not good enough and he could not get into university.

However, Han Xiuqin did not want her youngest son to join the army. She still hoped that her youngest son could get into university and have a better future. Being a soldier was too tough.

Every parent hopes their son will become successful. The couple is very happy to see the changes in their youngest son and hopes he can continue to maintain them.

Because of Yuan Qiwen's encouraging change, Yuan Fengshan and his wife didn't say anything more about their youngest son frequently staying with Han Yixian, but they did regularly send food to Han Yixian. After all, Yuan Qiwen, being a young boy, had a very large appetite.

Because the food in the courtyard was good, Yuan Qiwen also benefited and grew taller, now standing at 1.8 meters.

Because he exercised with Liu Gang, he became much stronger and taller, and very robust.

Life in the courtyard was very peaceful, and Han Yixian lived a fulfilling life teaching three students every day.

Han Yixian observed that Liu Gang and Du Yuhan learned academic subjects with ease, especially Du Yuhan, who could be described as a genius. Han Yixian was also pleasantly surprised by this discovery.

Du Yuhan and Liu Gang often went into the mountains to hunt, and knowing some martial arts would help them better protect themselves. Han Yixian then began teaching the three of them martial arts.

All three were delighted to receive guidance from Han Yixian and worked diligently to learn kung fu.

Especially since boys tend to admire strength, Liu Gang and Yuan Qiwen put in extra effort.

Han Yixian was pleasantly surprised to discover that Du Yuhan had excellent aptitude for martial arts and learned kung fu very quickly. Little did he know that Du Yuhan had already learned these skills in her previous life. Even if she hadn't reached a level of perfection, she was already quite skilled.

Du Yuhan gradually revealed her abilities, slowly gaining everyone's acceptance of her transformation.

Du Yuhan and Liu Gang successfully passed their final exams and became second-year junior high school students, which made everyone very happy.

When Du Yuhan woke up in the morning, she found that the weather was still clear and sunny, so she decided to go hunting in the mountains.

Because of the venomous snakes and wolves in the dense forests of the mountains, Han Yixian forbade Du Yuhan from going into the deep mountains to hunt, and only allowed her to dig some wild vegetables on the mountainside.

They can also hunt some small prey like rabbits, but not as many as in the deep mountains.

However, Du Yuhan was always very lucky when she went out, managing to hunt one or two wild rabbits. This was because Du Yuhan was very familiar with the habits of rabbits and could easily spot their tracks.

Rabbits have a high reproductive rate, and the few rabbits that Du Yuhan hunted were just a drop in the ocean compared to the rabbit population.

Du Yuhan doesn't hunt much because the weather is hot and meat doesn't keep well.

In the past few months, the Yuan family has also benefited a lot, enjoying quite a few of the prey that Du Yuhan hunted.

The Yuan family also knew that Du Yuhan was a skilled hunter and took good care of Han Yixian.

Han Xiuqin boasted to Yuan Fengshan more than once about her good eye for talent, finding a wonderful girl like Du Yuhan.

Han Xiuqin was secretly pleased to see Du Yuhan growing more and more beautiful. She believed that sooner or later her nephew would discover Du Yuhan's good qualities and might even gradually fall in love with her.

That way, the nephew can forget about the fiancée who abandoned him.

She was sure they would be happy when they formed a family, and then she would be at ease.

After breakfast, Liu Gang stayed behind to fetch water for the vegetable garden, while Du Yuhan said goodbye to Han Yi and set off with her willow basket on her back.
