When Zhang Biao was young, he was known for his arrogance in the brigade. As the saying goes, "Those who have nothing to lose are not afraid of those who have something to lose."
Moreover, Zhang Biao's parents had eleven older brothers and sisters.
He was the youngest and the most favored.
However, no matter how young or pampered they are, they still often grow up hungry.
With only his parents earning money, how could they possibly provide enough for so many children?
Therefore, compared to others, Zhang Biao's pampering was simply that he got one more bite to eat than his older brothers and sisters!
However, his parents didn't make it through the ordeal and passed away before he could grow up.
The eleven older brothers and sisters were treated like a football, being moved from one family to another after spending a few days in this family.
Zhang Biao was still young at the time, so he couldn't do anything about what his older siblings were doing.
Zhang Biao grew up like this, and because of this, he understood more clearly that if you don't rely on yourself, no one will care whether you live or die.
So, from the time he was old enough to understand, he would snatch food from other people's bowls.
Because he knew that if he didn't rob, he would go hungry.
So, by the time he grew up, Zhang Biao had become a very tall and robust man, just like a typical northern Chinese man.
However, despite his domineering nature, he wasn't entirely unreasonable.
He would repay anyone who had ever shown him kindness.
For example, when Fu Hongxing came to this small northern town, he asked several people, but no one paid any attention to him.
Even if he had a certificate from the coal mine stating that he could buy grain to take back, no one would be willing to do it.
So, after being humiliated countless times, Fu Hongxing felt he should go to the river to calm down.
Although it's called the riverside, the river next to that village had long been frozen over.
Moreover, some people were ice skating on the glacier.
Zhang Biao wasn't there to go ice skating; he was just passing by.
He took a shortcut and, not wanting to take the detour to the other side of the glacier, decided to walk directly across the ice.
If Zhang Biao had walked out of the icy river, he would have just passed by Fu Hongxing.
However, just as Zhang Biao was about to reach the shore with his last two kicks...
The ice beneath his feet suddenly creaked and groaned, and before Zhang Biao could react, he plummeted into the water beneath the ice like a free fall.
He wasn't far from the shore, just a few steps away.
However, the ice on the river was so thick that, for some reason, a large hole suddenly appeared where Zhang Biao had just been standing.
After he fell in, he panicked and only thought about taking a few steps forward to get to shore, but there was a thick layer of ice above him, and he couldn't break through the ice at all.
When he tried to turn around and find the ice hole he had fallen into, his limbs began to go numb.
Due to severe oxygen deprivation, his eyes were dark and bloodshot, making it impossible for him to see anything in the river.
In that critical moment, Fu Hongxing stepped forward and forcefully threw the stone he was holding high at the ice on the river.
Even with his skill, it took him four or five blows to break the ice.
Then they quickly pulled Zhang Biao ashore. Before he could even speak, Zhang Biao felt his soaked clothes being blown by the cold wind, and he started shivering. He couldn't say a word.
However, it turned out that Fu Hongxing did not save the wrong person.
Zhang Biao, wrapped in a dog-skin coat, led him to a valley.
The valley was much warmer than the outside, and at least, you could hardly see any snow there.
