Chapter 91 Resentment

Xiuhua blushed when she heard her sister-in-law's question.

Earlier, when we talked about the money my older brother sent back, I said some harsh things to my sister-in-law.

After calming down, she had actually thought about this issue.

Although it was my sister-in-law who made this decision after my parents died.

However, things that happened when our parents were still alive can't be blamed on my sister-in-law.

"I don't know either, my parents never told me."

However, I think it must be related to my grandparents.

Xiuhua first shook her head gently, then said hesitantly.

She remembered that when her mother was about four months pregnant with twins, she ran to her parents' house full of babyish energy.

That incident ended when the mother was pushed to the ground by her grandmother.

If it weren't for that time when she felt thirsty while working and wanted to have a drink of water before going back to the fields.

She wouldn't run into her grandmother either. She remembered clearly that when her grandmother left, she said fiercely that even if she didn't want to give it, she had to.

Because of the time my mother was pushed to the ground, she had a miscarriage. My father managed to take her to town to save the pregnancy, but it still damaged his health.

In the end, she still couldn't escape the hurdle of childbirth.

Thinking of the scene of her mother giving birth to twins, a boy and a girl, and the difficult labor when basins of blood were carried out of the room, Xiuhua's eyes showed a look of fear.

Ning Jing was surprised that Xiu Hua's body started to tremble after she finished speaking.

She stepped forward, patted Xiuhua on the back, and said softly, "Don't be afraid, your sister-in-law is here!"

Deep down, however, she felt a surge of disgust towards Fu Hongxing's grandparents.

ā€œI’m not afraid. Not long after my parents passed away, my aunt kicked my grandparents to the old house.ā€

Xiuhua gritted her teeth, thinking about how her father had walked the dark road in the dead of winter, stumbling along the way, without noticing the snow-covered potholes by the roadside, all to fetch a doctor for her mother.

He stepped on it and fell straight in.

After the mother gave birth to the twins with all her might, she died from postpartum hemorrhage, her hand still outstretched towards the door.

Her eyes remained open, presumably wanting to see her father one last time.

But what the family received was not the doctor the father had invited, but the villagers bringing back his body, which had long been frozen solid.

At that time, my sister-in-law and her family cried their hearts out. It was only with the help of Sister-in-law Guihua that they were able to get through the funeral for my parents.

My sister-in-law wanted to send a telegram to my eldest brother, but my uncle came to our door and said he had already done so.

However, after his parents were buried, his eldest brother did not return.

At that time, Xiuhua not only resented her sister-in-law for being so subservient to her uncle's family, but also harbored some resentment towards her eldest brother.

His parents died, and he didn't even come back.

The most resentful people were her grandparents. If her grandmother hadn't pushed her mother earlier, her mother wouldn't have had a miscarriage.

If the pregnancy isn't disrupted, the body won't be harmed; if the baby doesn't rise, childbirth might not be so difficult, and the father wouldn't have to go to the doctor in the middle of the night only to fall and die.

When Xiuhua heard the news that her aunt had sent her grandparents to the old house, she was quite gloating.

She once secretly went to the old house for a peek and saw that her grandmother's wrinkled face was full of indignation, and she was cursing with harsh words.

Xiuhua heard it clearly: her grandmother wasn't cursing her uncle and aunt, but her own father who had fallen to his death.

They cursed him for being unfilial, and for deserving to die so young because of a woman.

After listening to half of it, Xiuhua couldn't take it anymore and ran back crying.

However, when she returned, she never intended to tell her sister-in-law.

After all, her sister-in-law back then was nothing like she is now, making her feel safe.
