Chapter 121 Surprise

"Grandpa, Grandpa, come quick!"

A gasp of surprise came from the backyard. Startled, Yun Dazheng dropped what he was holding and rushed towards the backyard. He was so anxious that he didn't even look up.

"What's wrong, Duo'er? What's wrong? Don't be afraid, Duo'er, Grandpa's here, don't be afraid, don't be afraid..." Yun Dazheng was afraid that his little granddaughter had been frightened, so he hurriedly spoke to comfort her before even turning the corner of the house. After he finished speaking, he turned the corner of the house and went to the backyard.

"Grandpa, look!" Yun Duo's attention had actually been focused on what was in front of her. When she saw Yun Dazheng coming over, she exclaimed with delight, pointing with her little hand to a beehive on a low wooden shelf in the backyard.

Yun Dazheng then noticed that swarms of bees were buzzing towards his house, surrounding the beehives in the backyard—a huge colony. In the distance, he could faintly see the bees flying in that direction.

What's going on?

Yun Dazheng was filled with surprise, doubt, and joy. Seeing Yun Duo still standing next to the beehive, he became anxious again. He stopped for a moment and ran quickly toward Yun Duo, shouting urgently, "Duo'er, stay away, don't get stung by the bees!"

As he spoke, he reached Yunduo and stood in front of her and the beehive, then lowered his head to carefully examine his granddaughter. Seeing his granddaughter beaming with joy, Yun Dazheng felt a little relieved and asked, "Duo'er, you weren't stung, were you?"

Yun Duo shook her head and said with a smile, "No, no, the bees don't sting me." She then took Yun Dazheng's big hand with her little hand, leaned forward slightly, and made Yun Dazheng turn to look at the beehive. Pointing to the small hole left on the beehive, she said to Yun Dazheng, "Grandpa, these bees keep going in. Duo'er can see that many have already gone in."

Yun Dazheng then looked closely at the beehive. To his surprise, just as Yun Duo had said, the bees were indeed entering the beehive one by one.

"This?..." Yun Dazheng was completely baffled, but this didn't diminish his joy at all. In his cheerful mood, Yun Dazheng seemed to have become many times younger in an instant. He picked up Yun Duo and tossed her low into the air before speaking with a beaming smile, "Our Duo'er is truly a child protected by God! Grandpa tried so many methods, but none of them could get these bees into the hive. Even if they were put inside, they would fly away. Our Duo'er just picked up a bee and brought it back herself, and these bees actually flew here on their own. What else could it be but God's blessing?"

No one knows who first spread the rumor that Yun Duo had survived a great calamity and would surely be blessed with good fortune. She had suffered so much in the past that even God couldn't bear to see her suffer, so He was helping her. Yun Dazheng didn't believe it at first, but now that the 'facts' were in front of him, he believed it even if he didn't.

Yun Duo couldn't help but laugh.

Yun Dazheng chuckled, his heart filled with joy. He held his granddaughter's hand and looked around the beehives for a while. When he realized that Yun Qishi was calling them from the front, he took Yun Duo's hand and went back to the front yard.

Sitting on a small stool with a basket of wild vegetables at her feet, Yun Qishi saw Yun Dazheng and Yun Duo looking very happy and couldn't help but ask with a smile, "What are you two doing in the back? Do you know I'm going to make pancakes for you tonight?"
