"Grandma Qi, could you please tell me if we could stir-fry these mushrooms as well?"
Yun Duo and Li Bingchen, the two "kids," dashed into the kitchen like a gust of wind. Li Bingchen was carrying a half-full pocket of mushrooms. The mushrooms were all very small, just beginning to sprout. They were indeed very fresh, but it was a bit of a waste because they were so tiny.
Fortunately, Madam Yunqi now looked at Li Bingchen with nothing but delight. This little boy from a noble family had not only helped her family so much, but had also given them a wheelbarrow; he was practically a benevolent benefactor. So, let alone picking and eating these newly sprouted mushrooms, she would even be willing to have her husband go and cut two pounds of the fattest meat for him if he wanted to eat meat.
"Okay." So, upon hearing Li Bingchen's words, Yun Qi nodded and said, "After Grandma Qi finishes making the pancakes, I'll wash the pan, and we'll stir-fry some vegetarian ones, okay?"
"Yes, thank you, Grandma Qi." Li Bingchen nodded vigorously.
"Oh, good child, it's Grandma Qi who wants to thank you," said Madam Yun Qi with a smile. Then she looked at Yun Duo: "Duo'er, go pick a handful of green peppers and go check on the eggplants. If any have grown and are ready to eat, pick a couple too. Grandma will stir-fry them with mushrooms later."
“Okay, Grandma.” Yun Duo replied, then looked at Li Bingchen: “Let’s go pick some vegetables.”
"Okay," Li Bingchen replied.
Just as Yun Qi was about to stop them, the two younger ones went out again.
Madam Yunqi shook her head, smiling and scolding, "This child, it's so hot outside, how could you let the little noble lady run around in the sun with her?"
Yun Da was sitting in front of the stove tending the fire when he heard Yun Qi's words. He said, "I think it's quite good. Little Guiren is running around like a child. You saw the look on her face when she came in just now, it was so ugly. But after going out for a walk with our Duo'er and picking some mushrooms, she came back with a smile on her face. Isn't that good?"
Zhang Yang also thought it was good that his Fifth Master was running and jumping around like that. Ever since he spoke with His Majesty the King last night, the Fifth Master had been like a tree rooted to the ground, not showing the slightest bit of good mood. Even Zhang Yang felt uneasy looking at him.
That little girl named Yunduo is really capable. He only went out and threw the man into the river, and Fifth Master was back to being a "human," and even more like a child. Very good, very good.
Zhang Yang felt as if a huge weight had been lifted from his heart, but his relief was short-lived, as his anxiety returned.
This country girl has such a big influence on Fifth Master, it doesn't seem like a good thing. Should he report this? Zhang Yang was a little conflicted.
However, when he saw the two children returning, one holding a handful of green peppers and the other holding two or three eggplants, chatting and laughing, he thought that it was better not to report such a 'small matter' that was based entirely on his own guess.
After all, it's not good for Fifth Master to always act like a little adult. He's still a child. It's a good thing to have someone let him take off his mask and relax like a child.
Having made up his mind, Zhang Yang went to meet Li Bingchen and his men, and said to Li Bingchen, "Young master, I threw that woman into the river, and after she swallowed a lot of water, I had her man rescue her."
"Was a warning issued?" Li Bingchen asked calmly.
"Yes, the warning has been given," Zhang Yang nodded in reply.
"Hmm." Li Bingchen nodded slightly, not commenting on how well he had handled the matter, and directly took the eggplants into the kitchen: "Grandma Qi, we've picked the eggplants. Do you think that's enough?"
Seeing his fifth uncle's figure disappear at the kitchen door, Zhang Yang suddenly felt that he should talk to the village chief.
