The vehicles going to the county town weren't real passenger buses, but rather small trucks that ran on diesel fuel, with a canopy overlaid with a plastic sheet to keep out the rain. These vehicles were also known as "covered trucks."
There is a wooden board on both sides of the carriage and on the side closest to the driver's cab, where people can sit side by side. There are also small stools under the wooden boards, so if there are many people, they can sit on the stools.
After Yun Dazheng and his group finished eating, the covered truck arrived. As soon as it stopped, Yun Dazheng went up and bought two tickets. The tickets were really expensive, costing fifty cents each, which was equivalent to a pound of meat.
Seeing Yun Dazheng painfully pull out a dollar to buy two tickets, Yun Duo couldn't help but ask the cart owner, "Uncle, aren't children half price?"
"What? Half price for children? Who said that?" The car owner's eyes widened instantly. After laughing exaggeratedly twice, he looked at Yun Duo with a smug look and said, "What are you dreaming about, kid? In the whole Chang Le Town, I'm the only one driving this car to the county seat, and I've never charged half price before. Let alone someone your age, apart from those babies still being held and nursing, even two- or three-year-olds all pay full price properly."
“If you don’t want to, it’s simple, just take bus number 11, swing your legs and walk there.”
As soon as the car owner finished speaking, Wang Tiejun's voice rang out from the side: "He Laosan, what are you saying? What do you mean by 'crazy in a dream'? I think you're the one who's crazy in a dream. Arguing with a child so early in the morning, don't you have any shame?"
He Laosan drove around town every day, so he naturally knew Wang Tiejun, this petty thug. He immediately sneered and said disdainfully, "Wang Tiejun? You must have had some fake alcohol this morning and you're all high on your nerves. What did I, He Laosan, say to bother you? Why are you here pretending to be an elephant instead of sticking green onions in your nostrils?"
Wang Tiejun, with a cold face, didn't even look at Yun Dazheng and the others, but said to He Laosan, "What you say about others is none of my business, but if you talk about my sister, then I have to care."
"Heh?" He Laosan sneered again, looking Wang Tiejun up and down, and said, "Sister? How come I don't know? Wang Tiejun, do you think I'm stupid? How many years has your deadbeat father been dead? Can he crawl out of his grave and give you a sister?"
“Can’t we be born of the same mother?” Wang Tiejun said coldly. As he spoke, he rolled up his sleeve, revealing half of a strangely shaped snake head, his face carrying a rather obvious threatening intent.
That was the tattoo that Snakehead had on his arm. The reason it looked so strange was simply because Wang Tiejun didn't have enough money to hire a skilled tattoo artist.
Logically speaking, since He Laosan was able to run passenger transport in the town and county, and it was a unique business, it's one thing that there weren't many passengers on the bus, so he couldn't afford to maintain so many vehicles. More importantly, he must have had some connections with the big thugs in the town and county, so naturally he wouldn't be afraid of a small-time thug like Wang Tiejun who followed behind his underlings.
Surprisingly, He Laosan accepted Wang Tiejun's 'threat' so readily, nodding and saying, "Okay, why not? Since she's your sister, then forget what I said before. Get in the car, it's hot outside, the air is better. But she's a child and could easily fall off, so Wang Tiejun, you'd better watch over her."
