Chapter 217 Urgent

It wasn't easy to get into the Black Panther family's villa. Even with the county magistrate's wife, they waited outside for nearly twenty minutes before being allowed to enter.

Although it's called a villa, it's actually an estate with a huge area. They drove directly into the main building of the villa.

As soon as the car stopped, a maid dressed in a sky-blue summer outfit came to help open the door and lead the way.

The main building of the villa is a small Western-style building that blends Chinese and Western styles. It looks quite charming and was clearly designed by a famous designer. However, once you enter the building, you are greeted by a dazzling display of gold and glitter, which is extremely luxurious and ostentatious. It has a bit of a nouveau riche feel to it.

Yunduo, holding the earthenware pot in her hands, walked carefully and closely beside Duling.

The maid who led the way ignored Yun Duo, who looked like a country girl, and only politely said to Du Ling, "The old lady was very happy to know that you came to visit her, and she took her medicine much more readily."

Upon hearing this, Du Ling politely replied, "I've been so busy, otherwise I should have come to see the old lady sooner. By the way, how is your old lady's health? I heard that your Master Leopard specially arranged for a doctor to be brought from the big city to treat the old lady. I imagine it must have been very helpful."

The maid who led the way sighed, shook her head slightly, and then said, "I only hope that the Bodhisattva will bless the old lady so that she can have a couple of peaceful days."

Clearly, even doctors from big cities couldn't do much.

Hearing Du Ling's conversation with the maid, Yun Duo felt a chill in her heart. It sounded like the old lady of the Hei family was very ill; her search for that earthenware jar likely stemmed from some unfulfilled wish, or perhaps an obsession. If she was particularly persistent, would pleading with her still be of any use?

With these thoughts in mind, Yun Duo followed Du Ling somewhat uneasily into a room with a strong medicinal smell.

Yun Duo secretly peeked around. The room was spacious, and although the window was only half open, it was a cross-ventilation window, so the ventilation should be quite good. The fact that there was such a strong smell of medicine in such a room meant that the old lady had probably been sick for a long time.

Once the clouds saw the people, they were even more certain.

The old woman, wearing a hat and sitting on the bed, was dressed in thick clothes and covered with a very thick blanket. She was very thin, her face was pale and ashen, and she looked listless and particularly weak. Yet, she still managed to force a kind smile at them.

Du Ling immediately began to coax the old lady: "Hello, madam. You look much more energetic today than last time. It seems that doctors in big cities are indeed effective. I think it won't be long before you recover."

"I appreciate your kind words." Although the old lady didn't believe it, she still thanked her, but because she was short of breath, she spoke briefly.

“Grandma, I’m telling you the truth.” Du Ling said, gesturing for Yun Duo to hand the jar in her hand to the maid serving the old lady. Then she smiled and said, “Grandma, this is honey from a farm. Although it’s not worth much money, it’s good for your health. You can drink some honey water.”

Honey? From your own chickens? Really?

The maid who took the earthenware jar from Yun Duo suddenly showed a look of joy. She didn't care whether it was appropriate to speak at this moment, but asked eagerly, "Madam Cao, you said that this honey is from a farmer's own farm, is that true?"

Du Ling was somewhat surprised, but still nodded and pointed to Yun Duo, saying, "This honey comes from Yun Duo's family. If you don't believe me, you can ask her."

"Little girl, is this honey really from your family's farm?" the maid asked, looking at Yun Duo with anticipation.
