Chapter 244 Arrival

"Old man Yun? It's you. What are you doing in our village with that tattered box? You're not thinking of stealing anything, are you?"

Chen Ping was a notorious scoundrel in Chenjia Village, a lazy bum who always dreamed of getting something for nothing. Since Lujia Village and Chenjia Village were so close, he already knew that an outsider named Old Man Yun kept two beehives and had even lingered outside Yun's house before, though he hadn't dared to steal the honey. But he'd had his eye on it ever since. So, when he saw the wooden box Yun Da was carrying, his eyes lit up, and he deliberately spoke suspiciously, saying that Yun Da was coming to Chenjia Village to steal something.

Upon hearing Chen Ping, a habitual petty thief, claim that he had come to Chenjia Village to steal, Yun Dazheng was both angry and amused. His face darkened as he said, "Chen Ping, don't talk nonsense. I, Yun Dazheng, have always been upright and honest. I have never done anything like stealing chickens or dogs in my life. Don't try to smear others based on your own character!"

Chen Ping seemed oblivious to the meaning behind Yun Dazheng's words, his eyes fixed on the wooden box on Yun Dazheng's back. He argued irrationally, "Trying to smear you? I don't have time for that. I just saw you sneaking around with that box on your back, and I didn't even bother with you. Since you say you're not here to steal, then tell me, what are you here for? Why are you carrying a box on your back? In all these surrounding villages, who doesn't carry things in a basket? Why are you using a box that you can't see anything about? How are we supposed to know what you're up to?"

Although Yun Dazheng had long suspected that someone would covet his property, he hadn't expected it to happen so quickly. Fortunately, he now knew why his family was able to raise bees, and his current outreach to attract them was purely for show, so he wasn't afraid of Chen Ping seeing it. Therefore, as soon as Chen Ping finished speaking, Yun Dazheng feigned anger and began to speak.

"Chen Ping, don't think I don't know what you're up to. You want to see? Fine, I'll show you. I want to see if you can learn it after you see it! I don't believe you can learn all the skills that Yun Dazheng uses to make a living!"

As he spoke, he put the box down, lifted the cloth covering it, pointed inside, and said, "Come on, didn't you want to see? Let's see what you can figure out!" His tone was extremely contemptuous.

Chen Ping didn't care about Yun Dazheng's tone and immediately moved closer to him. However, before he could get close, he heard a rather urgent voice.

"Chen Ping, you stop right there!"

Just as the sound rang out, a young man ran quickly toward them, shouting as he ran, "Grandpa Yun, don't fall for his tricks! That kid just wants to steal your skills!"

As soon as Chen Ping saw the young man, he spat and said, "Chen Aijun, you busybody, who do you think you are? Just because you tell me to stop doesn't mean I have to stop." As he spoke, he quickly ran to Yun Dazheng's side and looked into the box.

Inside the beehive, there were only two honeycomb frames used to conceal their presence.

"What is this? It looks a lot like a honeycomb." Chen Ping said as he reached for the honeycomb frame.

"Don't move! You'll get stung!" Even though she knew her grandfather was deliberately trying to let Chen Ping see, Yun Duo didn't want him to touch her things. So, as soon as she saw Chen Ping reach out, she shouted at him from afar.
