Yun Duo had no idea that not far from her, there was someone who inexplicably hated her so much that she wanted to push her into the water to drown. She tied up the net, took the yellow thorn stick that she had tied on later, shook it a few times, felt it was okay, and then went back to the river.
The net with a stick attached wasn't as easy to handle as before. Yun Duo carefully held the stick and extended the net towards the still unconscious duck. She wobbled as she tried to put the net over the duck's body, and after several attempts, she finally got the net over the duck's body. Then she carefully pulled the duck over.
After dragging the duck to the shore with a net, Yunduo ran over, scooped the duck, net and all, out of the water, lifted it up, and said with a smile, "It's quite heavy. You really know how to pick one. This duck is really fat. I wonder how many pounds it weighs."
Both Yun Dazheng and Yun Qishi had the ability to estimate the weight of an object just by holding it in their hands, a skill that Yun Duo could never learn.
But it doesn't matter, we're all going to eat anyway, no matter how much it weighs, it'll all end up in our stomachs eventually.
So, Yun Duo only muttered "I wonder how heavy it is" before throwing the duck onto the bank and turning to try and catch another one. Yun Duo didn't bother with retrieving the duck from the river anymore. She'd already asked Xiao Jiu about it when she was setting up the net, and knew the two ducks would be dizzy for at least two hours, so there was no rush. She immediately pulled the net back, then turned around and, sure enough, saw a furtive-looking person walking towards her. He looked somewhat familiar!
Yang Damei's attention was already focused on Yun Duo. The moment Yun Duo turned around, she knew Yun Duo had noticed her. Because of her guilty conscience, Yun Duo's face turned pale with fright. This confirmed Xiao Jiu's suspicion that Yun Duo was trying to steal her things. After all, Yun Duo didn't believe anyone would casually take another's life, so she never imagined that Yang Damei actually wanted her dead.
However, even if she didn't expect Yang Damei to want her dead... the fact that she thought Yang Damei wanted to steal her ducks made Yun Duo unable to give Yang Damei a kind look!
"It's you? You're sneaking around here, what are you trying to do?" Yun Duo said to Yang Da Mei, annoyed. As she spoke, she ran over and picked up the duck from the ground, put it in her basket, and carefully placed it next to her. Yang Damei felt as if she had been slapped hard across the face, feeling both ashamed and angry, but also somewhat relieved. After all, Yun Duo assumed that if she wanted to steal something, she wouldn't think Yun Duo wanted to kill her, so she wouldn't be so wary and wouldn't shout randomly!
