Chapter 695 Out of thin air

Compared to coffee, Song Lixing actually prefers tea. His favorite is premium Tieguanyin. It's tea from his hometown, and drinking it brings back memories of home.

After studying away from China for decades, he has achieved some success, but unfortunately... he no longer has the freedom to return home.

Even his bedmate was a spy monitoring him. In such an environment, he was still able to live, work, and conduct research with composure, which truly shows his strong will.

However... even the most determined person would be utterly astonished when faced with a small roll of paper suddenly appearing on their desk.

He didn't hear a sound, not even the slightest noise, and it was obvious that the bodyguards outside, who were ostensibly there to protect him but were actually there to monitor him, were not disturbed either. The small, clearly carefully rolled-up piece of paper seemed to have appeared out of thin air on his desk.

simply……

Well, Confucius said, "He did not speak of strange phenomena, physical prowess, disorder, or spirits."

He is a scientist, and therefore he must believe in science.

Song Lixing took a sip of tea, calmed himself down, and picked up the scroll of paper to open it.

The paper roll was covered with neat little characters, written in a slightly weak hand, making it look like it was written by a child.

This was a brief note, written in clerical script. After politely greeting him, it went straight to the point, asking if he missed the old tea trees of his hometown and the finest Tieguanyin tea brewed with spring water from his hometown. At the end, it offered a 'friendly reminder' that he could reply to them on a small slip of paper.

Song Lixing was somewhat surprised and couldn't help but shake his head with a laugh.

Thinking: Could it be that I miss the finest Tieguanyin tea brewed with spring water from my hometown? Can you conjure it up for me?

As for the reply...

Song Lixing suddenly became curious.

The small window in his study was not closed. It was not impossible to project the small paper roll into his study through the window by some means. But how could the person writing to him possibly take away the small paper he wrote right under his nose?

Out of curiosity, Song Lixing actually cut a small piece of paper, wrote two simple sentences on it, rolled it up, placed it in the same spot where the previous paper roll had appeared, and then stared at the paper roll without blinking.

Of course, it's impossible for a person to not blink at all; even the most skilled person can't maintain that for long.

Song Lixing hadn't received any training in this area, and although his willpower far exceeded that of ordinary people, he couldn't hold on for long and eventually blinked...

A very quick blink, less than half a second.

In the blink of an eye, the note vanished into thin air...

this?

Song Lixing felt his understanding was being challenged. What exactly was it that took away the small paper roll he had folded right under his nose?

Is it really a paranormal event?

No, absolutely not!

Could it be that someone has broken into his study?

Song Lixing immediately pulled out a chair and looked under his desk—nothing, absolutely nothing.

There's nothing behind the curtains, nothing behind the bookshelves, nothing on the ceiling... and of course, nothing else where people can't hide.

And outside the window...

Song Lixing turned his gaze outside, but for fear of attracting the attention of the bodyguards, he didn't look closely.

Never mind, as long as you don't mean any harm, it's fine.
