The postman opened his bag, took out an envelope, and looked at the name on it: "Wind Niaoniao".
Upon hearing this, Qian Sheng immediately called out, "Feng Zhiqing, come here quickly."
Feng Niaoniao saw her name on the envelope, signed it happily, and was about to leave.
Someone in the village called out, "Feng Zhiqing, what university did you get into? Open it up and let us see!"
Feng Niaoniao smiled and said, "I only applied to one university, which is Beijing University. Other than that, none of them were my choice."
The villagers were still gossiping. They hadn't expected Feng Zhiqing to be so arrogant. It was because her family was well-off and she didn't do much work, yet she lived a comfortable life in her own house and received packages every month. If it weren't for Yun Yi by her side and the fact that she didn't interact much with the villagers, she would have been targeted by others long ago.
The postman ignored the villagers' discussion and took out another envelope. The cover was identical to the one from "Wind and Fluttering," which only fueled the murmurs: "Who is this now? Is it also from Peking University?"
The postman glanced at the name on it: "Yun Yi".
Qian Sheng's face immediately lit up with a smile: "Congratulations, Yun Zhiqing!"
Yun Yi smiled and walked forward. He looked at his envelope and saw that the mailing address was indeed Beijing University. He thanked the postman and Qian Sheng, then walked to Feng Niaoniao's side. The two looked at each other and stood aside without saying a word. They simply put the admission notice into the military green crossbody bag that Yun Yi was carrying.
The postman handed out another one: "This person's name is Guo Ni!"
Upon hearing her name, Guo Ni didn't even need Qian Sheng to call her; she immediately stepped forward and said, "I am Guo Ni."
The postman saw Qian Sheng nod and handed her the admission notice.
Guo Ni didn't pay much attention to it. She signed her name first, then opened the envelope. The moment she saw the admission notice, she smiled and said to Qian Xiang standing next to her, "Qian Xiang, Qian Xiang, I got in. I got in."
Qian Xiang was also very excited. Her efforts were worthwhile. He walked to Guo Ni's side, ignoring other people's opinions, and took Guo Ni's hand, saying, "Wife, wife, congratulations. I will wash your clothes and cook for you from now on."
Guo Ni's initial excitement was instantly dampened by Qian Xiang's words. She smiled, patted Qian Xiang's arm, and then stood there quietly.
Qian Sheng asked excitedly, "Qian Xiang's wife, what university did you get into?" This was also what the villagers wanted to ask. Although Guo Ni was also an educated youth, she had married into the village and was considered a villager, so everyone wanted to know what university she got into.
Guo Ni said with a smile, "Second Uncle, I took the exam for the Horticulture Department of Northeast Agricultural University in Heilongjiang Province."
Qian Sheng immediately smiled and said, "Good, good, that's great! Our Qian family has produced a college student too."
Qian Xiang laughed like a fool, his eyes shining as he looked at Guo Ni.
The postman smiled and took out another envelope: "Tan Jian."
Upon hearing his name called, Tan Jian immediately raised his hand: "Me, I'm here." After saying that, he squeezed from the back to the front, saw that it was his hometown address, smiled, quickly signed it, thanked the postman, thanked Qian Sheng, and then squeezed out of the crowd. With this, he could go home.
The postman smiled and said, "There's another one here named Liu Yuan."
Qian Sheng called out to Liu Yuan, who was chatting with Qian Duoduo, "Liu Yuan, Liu Zhiqing, stop chatting with Duoduo, it's your turn."
Liu Yuan immediately stuffed the coffee into his pocket, patted the book, and squeezed to the front: "Postman, I am Liu Yuan."
The postman handed her the envelope: "Congratulations."
Liu Yuan signed the envelope with a smile, but her face fell. It wasn't sent from her hometown address, which meant her wish to go home had been dashed.
The villagers were puzzled by Liu Yuan's sour face. He had just been admitted to university, so why did he look so unhappy? Was he overdoing it?
The postman took out another one: "Mu Tingting."
Mu Tingting immediately stepped forward, took the envelope as if it were a precious treasure, and was overjoyed to see the address on it. After signing it, she took the envelope and left the brigade headquarters.
Seeing all these envelopes from the educated youth, and not a single one from the village, everyone's spirits were low. Even the villagers who were taking the college entrance exam seemed a little melancholy.
The postman flipped through the mail again and said, "I remember there were seven acceptance letters in total. Where did the other one go?"
These words immediately put everyone's hearts in their throats, as they concerned a person's fate.
Moreover, it seems that none of the people in the village who took the college entrance examination passed. The remaining educated youth are also feeling anxious. It would be a lie to say they are not nervous when they see others receiving their admission notices.
The postman rummaged through his bag and finally laughed. It turned out he had mixed up with the Yuanbao Village postcards. He said with a smile, "This is the last of the seven admission notices in this batch. Qian Duoduo."
When Qian Duoduo's name was mentioned, the villagers cheered. Besides celebrating Qian Duoduo's success in the college entrance examination, it was also a source of pride for the villagers. Otherwise, the educated youth would have stolen the limelight.
Liu Wan, Wang Lin, and the others didn't look too good, because Qian Duoduo was the last one, and the others had come for nothing.
Seeing that the remaining people looked unwell, the postman said, "These are the first batch of admission notices. If the place you applied to is far away, it's possible that your admission notice hasn't arrived yet."
