Chapter 14 Qian Duoduo: If others don't buy, you won't buy either. Now you're in a hurry, but it's too late!

Upon arriving at the commune, Qian Xiang stood beside the oxcart, watching Xiao Guo, the educated youth, leave. Qian Duoduo smiled and placed her White Rabbit milk candy into Qian Xiang's hand. Feeling something in his hand, Qian Xiang looked down and saw it was the White Rabbit milk candy that Xiao Guo had given Duoduo. He looked at Qian Duoduo, puzzled, wondering why she had given it to him.

Qian Duoduo said with a smile, "This was given to me by Sister Guo. I'm giving it to you as a keepsake."

Qian Xiang's face turned bright red at those words, and he stammered, "Duo, Duo Duo, no, it's not what you think."

Qian Duoduo said with a smile, "What do you mean by 'what do you mean'? How do you know that's what I'm thinking?"

Seeing Qian Duoduo's stubbornness, Qian Xiang sighed helplessly. He didn't return the White Rabbit milk candy to Qian Duoduo in the end. He used his other hand to rub the headscarf on Qian Duoduo's head and said, "Let's go, or we won't be able to catch up with Mom if we don't leave now."

Qian Duoduo pointed to the basket behind him and said, "The reason I didn't leave is because you were looking at pretty young girls, right? The old lady said you have to carry this big basket yourself."

Qian Xiang smiled, stuffed the White Rabbit milk candy in his hand into his pocket, picked up the willow basket with one hand, and slung it over his shoulder. This action made the now short Qian Duoduo extremely envious.

Actually, none of the family members are short. The two brothers, Qian Cai and Qian Sheng, are 1.78 meters tall. The brothers Qian Feng and Qian Yu, who went to the army, and Qian Xiang are all over 1.8 meters tall. Even the four brothers, Qian Mao, Qian Gui, Qian Rao, who are still studying, and Qian Yin, who is learning a trade in the commune, are all over 1.7 meters tall. Only the youngest, Qian Duoduo, is only 1.3 meters tall. When he is with his brothers, he looks like a bean sprout.

Before transmigrating into the book, Qian Duoduo was only 1.6 meters tall, which made her 1.65-meter-tall mother extremely dislike her. Now, Qian Duoduo feels that she can still grow taller and looks forward to raising dairy cows and drinking milk on the farm so that she can grow taller and reach at least 1.65 meters. Thinking about this, she is even more excited about raising dairy cows.

The four of them, familiar with the place, arrived at the black market. They paid 15 cents and entered the alley. There, they saw a middle-aged man standing at the spot where they had previously set up their stall, though it was already occupied. His eyes lit up when he saw them, but he didn't immediately approach. He watched out of the corner of his eye as Jin Jinxiu and He Ying arranged their willow baskets, placing small flower baskets on top. Qian Duoduo and Qian Xiang were putting red berries into the flower baskets. Seeing the red berries, he smiled; the trip hadn't been in vain, and the man was indeed trustworthy. Seeing that He Ying and the others had finished setting up, he slowly walked over and said, "I've come to collect the red berries we agreed on last time."

Qian Duoduo smiled and said, "Uncle, I didn't expect you to come here to wait. Okay, these are the ones I just packed. Is this alright?" She pushed the four small flower baskets in front of her forward, and the man smiled and put them into his woven basket. He counted out 80 cents and handed them to He Ying. This was the same person who collected the money last time.

Qian Xiang watched the man's departing figure. He had just earned 80 cents. It was truly unbelievable!

People who were planning to buy things in this black market saw the man pay and leave very readily, and they all curiously gathered around. When they saw the hawthorns and wild apples, some people who had never been here before asked what they were. Qian Duoduo was prepared this time and put the cut hawthorns at the front, saying, "These are hawthorns and wild apples. Auntie, madam, you can come and have a taste."

Some people curiously took a bite and immediately asked, "How much is this?"

Qian Xiang looked at Qian Duoduo curiously, and then heard him say, "These are all 2 cents a small flower basket. If you like sweet and sour, choose red berries. If you like sweet and plentiful ones, choose wild apples."

When someone asks, someone will buy. Jin Jinxiu and Qian Xiang were packing flower baskets in the back, but they couldn't keep up with the demand. In the end, Qian Duoduo also went to the back to pack flower baskets. Since there was nothing left, you couldn't buy anything even if you wanted to. This situation stirred up a huge wave in Qian Xiang's heart. This is what it feels like to make money.

Next, he saw Qian Duoduo talking like a little megaphone, babbling about how delicious the red berries were and how great the mountain apples were. He became somewhat numb to it all. He realized that he was just a tool, a tool to fill the flower basket with things, and he wasn't really needed for anything else.

While he was mindlessly packing things, he suddenly noticed that a jar of hawthorn berries was empty. The remaining half-jar still had wild crabapples on it, indicating that the wild crabapples weren't selling as well as the hawthorn berries.

Yu Xi looked around and placed the wild apples at the front. Many people who came to buy them looked at them and asked questions out of curiosity. Then, an old lady rushed into the alley. Seeing that there were the most people here, she walked over and squeezed through the crowd outside before finally getting in: "Oh, I've finally found you!"

When the people around saw the old woman's appearance, they assumed she was there to cause trouble, so they stopped asking questions and just wanted to see what the old woman wanted.

Qian Duoduo was taken aback. When she saw the old lady, she remembered that she was the first old lady to buy her red berries. She smiled and said, "Hello, Grandma."

Grandma Jiang looked at the little girl. Although her face wasn't as bruised as last time, her big eyes were truly rare. She glanced at the willow basket filled with hawthorns and asked, "Do you still have any of those red berries?"

Qian Duoduo said, "If someone else asked me this, I would definitely hesitate, but since you asked me, Grandma, I have to have it!"
