After staying at home for two days, Qian Duoduo took Qian Sheng, Jin Jinxiu, and Wen Yugui to Dongfang Huating. When they arrived, the sight before them astonished them—towering buildings reaching into the clouds and beautiful fountains. These were novel things they had never seen before, and a surge of excitement welled up in their hearts.
Jin Jinxiu held Qian Duoduo's hand and said, "Duoduo, did you really build this?"
Qian Duoduo chuckled and joked, "Mom, I'm too weak to even kill a chicken, how could I build a house? I paid someone to build it for me. That's the sales office over there, and there's a miniature version of this complex inside. Shall we go in and take a look?"
Jin Jinxiu hesitated for a moment and said, "We're dressed like this so as not to embarrass you!"
Qian Duoduo laughed and said, "What's shameful about it? I grew up in the countryside, I'm a farmer's daughter. I grew up in the fields, so who dares to laugh at me now?"
Jin Jinxiu smiled at Qian Duoduo's words and turned to Qian Sheng, saying, "Shall we go in and take a look?"
Qian Sheng nodded and said, "Go ahead and look if you want, I'll go with you." He then walked towards the open space next to him. Qian Rao immediately grabbed him and said, "Dad, let's go to the sales center over there."
Qian Sheng rolled his eyes at him and said, "Do I not know where to go?"
Qian Duoduo watched as Qian Sheng walked somewhat awkwardly toward the sales center. She supported Jin Jinxiu as they followed behind, a barely perceptible smile playing on her lips. She knew her old man was nervous, but how could she easily expose someone so concerned with his image? So, Qian Duoduo simply chuckled to herself.
Today was supposed to be Liu Na's shift, but she had to go on a date with her boyfriend, so she insisted on switching shifts with the good-natured Wang Rui. At that moment, Wang Rui was standing at the door when she saw an elderly man walking in, his limbs unsteady. She was startled. Just as she was about to ask what was wrong, she suddenly saw Qian Duoduo walk in, followed by several other leaders. She immediately realized something was amiss, quickly shut her mouth, and watched them head towards the meeting room on the first floor.
After they entered the reception room, Wang Rui very tactfully brought in several cups of hot tea and some fruit, carefully placing them inside. After setting them down, she quietly withdrew and gently closed the door. The entire process was completely silent, as if she were afraid of disturbing the people talking inside.
Her action made Qian Duoduo look up at her, and then she chatted with Qian Sheng and Jin Jinxiu about Dongfang Huating.
Qian Sheng asked in a low voice, "This place must have cost a lot of money, right?"
Qian Duoduo leaned closer, and the two of them whispered in front of Jin Jinxiu, "Dad, it cost a lot of money to buy this place. If it were in the form of 'big unity,' it could fill up our house in Beian Village."
Qian Sheng said with a disbelieving look, "Are you kidding me!"
Qian Duoduo said, "I took out a loan of a total of 6 million."
Qian Sheng sat up straight, staring wide-eyed at Qian Duoduo, then turned to look at Jin Jinxiu, his face showing shock and confusion, as if asking, "Are there really that many?"
Jin Jinxiu smiled and gently patted Qian Sheng's hand, signaling him not to rush.
Qian Sheng frowned and said in a low voice, "If you don't tease me for a day, something's missing!"
Jin Jinxiu smiled and reassured the old man who had never traveled far from home, saying, "Alright, you should observe more and talk less!"
Qian Sheng pursed his lips and muttered, "I'll go eat some shark fin soup later to console myself."
Qian Duoduo smiled and said, "Father, Mother, let's go, I'll show you around here."
Qian Sheng and his companion stood up and followed Qian Duoduo out of the room. They arrived at a spacious and bright hall, where various exquisite decorations and works of art were displayed around the room.
Qian Sheng looked around curiously, occasionally letting out exclamations of surprise. Jin Jinxiu followed behind with a smile, admiring the surrounding environment.
Qian Duoduo led them on a tour of the various rooms and functional areas, introducing them to the facilities and their uses. In particular, there was something that looked somewhat familiar in a small square hall next door. Qian Sheng asked, "Duoduo, what is this? It looks a bit familiar."
Qian Duoduo smiled and pointed to a black and white box, saying, "This is a miniature building. This is the sales office we are in now. These four are the four buildings that have already been built in our community. The four buildings over here are still under construction. You will be able to see them when they are finished."
Qian Sheng and Jin Jinxiu nodded and followed behind Qian Duoduo as they continued shopping.
Finally, they arrived at a terrace on the top floor of a building, overlooking a place not far away where people were bustling about. The sunlight shone on them, and a gentle breeze caressed their faces, making them feel refreshed and relaxed.
Qian Sheng exclaimed, "This place is really beautiful. What was that box-like thing we just made?"
Qian Duoduo said with a smile, "That's called an elevator, a product made in Germany. That's one of the reasons why our Oriental Huating has relatively high prices. Also, look over there, the municipal government is located there, but can you say that my place is not as good as that one?"
Jin Jinxiu smiled and nodded in agreement. She remarked, "Indeed, everything here is outstanding. This is all thanks to Duoduo's hard work."
Qian Duoduo said to her parents with a proud look, "Dad, Mom, you can come and live here anytime from now on and enjoy a comfortable life."
Qian Sheng was so excited that tears welled up in his eyes. He exclaimed, "Great! This is wonderful! My daughter has grown up and achieved such great success." The family of three stood on the spacious terrace, basking in the warm sunshine, sharing this hard-won happiness and contentment.
