Chapter 377 Lu Yuan: I don't welcome this woman!

Lu Yuan wiped his hands with a damp towel and put his arm around the boy who was speaking, saying, "Lin Xu, we've practically grown up together. To be precise, everyone sitting at this table, besides people we like, is someone we've known since childhood. As for those who force their way in, I'm keeping an eye on them." He glanced at Lin Nian, whose face was quite pale, and added, "As for her, I don't welcome her. Not only because she was unfriendly to my fiancée, but also because I don't like being friends with someone with a dark heart."

After saying this, Lin Nian's face turned pale instantly. Her originally exquisite makeup could not hide her paper-white complexion. Her lips trembled slightly, as if she wanted to say something, but in the end she did not say anything.

Lu Yuan's words were like a sharp sword, piercing the last glimmer of hope and self-respect in Lin Nian's heart. She had never imagined that she would be rejected and criticized so ruthlessly. And all of this stemmed from her jealousy and resentment towards Qian Duoduo, as well as her obsession with Lu Yuan. But now, she found herself having lost all dignity and status, unable even to retain the status of an ordinary friend.

Looking at Lin Nian's distraught state, Lin Xu couldn't help but feel a surge of pity. Although he wasn't close to Lin Nian, she was, after all, someone he had brought in. Seeing her so disheveled, he couldn't help but advise, "Lin Nian, since Lu Yuan has already put things this way, I think you should put your hopes aside." Hearing this, a hint of embarrassment flashed in Lin Nian's eyes. Although she felt resentful at Lu Yuan's rejection and disappointed by the coldness and indifference of these people, she still nodded helplessly in front of them, accepting reality.

Seeing Lin Nian's resolute decision, Lu Yuan nodded in satisfaction and said, "Lin Xu, since you brought Lin Nian here, then you should send her back."

Lin Xu nodded vigorously, indicating that he understood. He recalled his feelings towards Lu Yuan when he was a child, when he still harbored some resentment. However, as he grew older, especially after experiencing many dangers with Lu Yuan, he came to a deep understanding that although Lu Yuan always had a smile on his face, he possessed a kind of crazy nature inside.

What impressed Lin Xu most was the scene when they were captured by enemy agents when he was eleven years old. At that time, Lin Xu was so scared that he could only cry, but Lu Yuan displayed amazing courage and fighting ability. In the end, one of the three enemy agents died and two were injured. This achievement made Lu Yuan famous and earned Lin Xu's respect. From that moment on, Lin Xu regarded Lu Yuan as his elder brother and obeyed him without question. He might ignore what others said, but he would carry out Lu Yuan's orders without hesitation.

The others fell silent. They were all children who had grown up in the compound and knew each other's personalities very well. Lu Yuan's sixth sense had always been sharp, giving him a direct ability to judge the good and evil in others. Therefore, when he showed his undisguised disgust for Lin Nian, everyone in the circle immediately excluded Lin Nian.

However, Lin Nian was completely unaware of this. At that moment, she was sitting in the car, crying and complaining to Lin Xu, accusing Lu Yuan of not treating her as a brother or friend, and even disrespecting her. Hearing Lin Nian's divisive words, Lin Xu frowned deeply, filled with helplessness. He was utterly speechless at his cousin from Henan Province. Having arrived in Beijing, unfamiliar with the city and its people, she had boldly entered this circle, and it was expected that she would be rejected. Moreover, even he himself was tired of Lin Nian's hesitant and evasive attitude, but his father believed that girls should act this way, which was truly incomprehensible.

Lin Nian never expected Lin Xu to be so disrespectful, not saying a word. This really embarrassed her. She had originally planned to show off, but it turned into an awkward one-woman show. The more she thought about it, the angrier she became, filled with annoyance and resentment towards Lin Xu.

Back at the Lin family home, Lin Xu ruthlessly dumped her at the entrance of the residential complex and drove away without looking back. Watching the car disappear into the distance, Lin Nian stomped her feet in anger, feeling utterly humiliated. She resolved to find a chance to get revenge and show Lin Xu that she was not someone to be trifled with.

Lin Nian slowly pushed open the door, a hint of weariness on her face, but her eyes instantly brightened when she saw her father sitting in the living room. Her father was sitting on the sofa reading a newspaper. Hearing the door open, he looked up, a gentle smile playing on his lips.

"Uncle, you're back so early today!" Lin Nian walked quickly to her father, her eyes sparkling with joy.

Lin's father put down his newspaper and looked at her with a smile: "Yes, it's almost the New Year, and I've almost finished my work, so I came back early to spend time with you. By the way, I heard from your aunt that Lu Yuan from the Lu family came back today with his fiancée and held a banquet. Weren't you and Lin Xu supposed to go and meet her? Why did you come back early?"

Lin Nian's expression darkened slightly, and her bright eyes dimmed. She lowered her head, gently biting her lip, and replied in a low voice, "There's no particular reason. I just felt a little tired, so I came back first."

Noticing the change in her expression, Lin's father frowned and asked with concern, "Did something happen? Or did someone bully you? Tell your uncle, and your uncle will help you get revenge."

Lin Nian shook her head, forcing a smile: "No, Uncle, I'm just a little tired. Besides, I'm not really interested in that banquet, so it doesn't matter whether I go or not."

Mr. Lin nodded thoughtfully and patted Lin Nian on the shoulder: "Okay, if anything makes you unhappy, be sure to tell me, don't keep it to yourself."

Lin Nian nodded, looking gratefully at her father. "Thank you, Uncle. I understand. I'll go back to my room and rest for a while." With that, she turned and walked towards her room, her steps heavy.

He lowered his head and continued reading the newspaper, intending to ask Lin Xu what had happened when he returned. As he came out of the kitchen, he glanced at Lin Nian's bedroom door, walked up to Lin's father, and asked, "What's wrong?"

Lin's father shook his head and said, "It's nothing."

Lin's mother nodded. She didn't like Lin Nian; she was a bit scheming and often made small moves. But her husband seemed indifferent, so she didn't say much.

After Lin Xu returned, everyone started chatting and drinking. Qian Duoduo noticed that these were all Lu Yuan's friends, and they had a very close relationship. She gradually blended into the atmosphere, laughing and joking with everyone.
