Qian Sheng went to arrange for people to deliver grain to the commune. These were things that a child like Qian Duoduo didn't need to worry about. She could only follow Guo Ni to the mountains to pick some wild vegetables or mushrooms. At the very least, she could gather some branches and weeds, which Qian Mao and Qian Rao would then carry home.
Qian Duoduo followed behind Guo Ni, looking around slowly. She said, "Sister-in-law, I see some mushrooms here. Let me pick some mushrooms."
Guo Ni looked around and nodded: "Then don't go too far, and call me every now and then."
Qian Duoduo nodded, watching Guo Ni's departing figure, and obediently picked mushrooms. She thought of the mushrooms that her farm had recently grown, and then looked at the ones she had picked. Hmm, they seemed quite different. It seemed they couldn't be mixed up. Although she wanted to use the farm's vegetables to improve her family's life, she didn't dare to be too blatant.
Gradually, Qian Duoduo also realized that wild vegetables and mushrooms were not so easy to pick. She looked at the wild vegetables in her small basket, which were just enough to cover the bottom, thought for a moment, and then used the knife in her hand to start cutting the surrounding weeds.
When they finally found Qian Duoduo, they saw two clumps of weeds next to her. They immediately went over to her, skillfully twisted two ropes with the grass, mixed the two clumps of weeds together, tied them up, and then went to the side to cut more grass. After drying the grass, it could be used for cooking.
The two of them kept cutting further and further off course until they reached a dark patch of land. Qian Duoduo looked up and saw a large tree in front of her that had been struck by lightning. It was probably causing some kind of fire, since the grass on her side had all turned black. The tree itself had split open in the middle because of the strike. She went over to take a look and found that the tree was dead. She circled the tree and suddenly noticed something. She reached out and tugged at the heartwood of the tree twice, but it wouldn't budge.
"Oh dear, what's this? It's in the middle of the tree. It looks like a good thing." Qian Duoduo, not believing in such things, put down the small basket and knife in his hand, then stood next to the tree and tried to pull with both hands, but the thing didn't budge.
Qian Duoduo circled the tree again, her little brain immediately starting to work. She picked up her knife, made two cuts at the base of the tree, and her eyes lit up. She had a chance! She dug and dug at the base of the tree with the knife until she made a hole. She put her hand in and pushed it, and it moved.
She continued digging from the bottom up, but after digging halfway, she couldn't dig any further. Only then did she realize that someone had hidden something here and then blocked the place up. If the tree hadn't been struck by lightning, the thing hidden here would never have seen the light of day. Now that she had discovered it, her damned curiosity made her really want to know what was inside.
Qian Duoduo placed the knife in the box, felt for a handle through the hole at the bottom, and pulled hard to pull it out. She could pull it out, but it was a bit heavy. Qian Duoduo stood up and tried to pull it out from the top, but found that it was impossible. In the end, she stuck out her buttocks and pulled the thing out through the small hole.
At this point, not knowing where Guo Ni and Qian Rao were, and afraid that if she called for help, she would attract other people, especially bad people, so Qian Duoduo finally decided to try her best on her own.
I wish I could get this into my own farm.
Qian Duoduo had just had this thought when suddenly the weight in her hand went limp, and she sat down on the ground with a thud. She looked at her hand, then got up and looked at the tree hole, which was now empty. Could it be...? She immediately entered the space and saw a leather suitcase in the warehouse that she had never seen before, and it was larger than she had expected.
She left the farm, looked at her hands again, and touched the metal tag around her neck. It really was in her warehouse. So the farm wasn't just for plants; things like this could be stored there too. Thinking of this, Qian Duoduo smiled. If that was the case, things would be so much more convenient for her.
Her eyes lit up as she looked at the fallen tree crown, struck by lightning. She walked over, reached out, and touched it, thinking: "Enter the warehouse." The enormous crown vanished instantly. Qian Duoduo smiled, went to the remaining stump (about a meter long), and placed her hand on it: "Enter the warehouse." The stump was gone too, leaving only a large pit. Qian Duoduo chuckled. She thought, "Last time I dug ginseng, if I had known this could be done, wouldn't I have avoided all that hard work?"
As Qian Duoduo was grinning foolishly, staring at the large pit in front of him, wondering how to fill it, a rabbit darted out from the side. Seeing Qian Duoduo, it couldn't brake in time and fell straight into the pit. Qian Duoduo laughed. Was this some kind of trap? He'd have meat for dinner tonight! But how was he going to eat it? He'd only ever seen spicy rabbit heads before; he'd never eaten anything else. However, the pit was quite deep. Given his height, if he went in, he might not be able to climb out with the rabbit. This was truly a dilemma for Qian Duoduo.
Just as Qian Duoduo was still fretting, she saw another gray hare fail to brake in time and fall into the pit. Oh, I'm so sorry, maybe you were familiar with this place before, but now there's no big tree and a big pit, which has ruined your memory of the map. You fell into the pit and became a delicious meal on my table.
She lay down by the pit and looked at the two rabbits that had fallen in. She smiled, and seeing that they couldn't get out, she immediately ran back. Just then, she saw Qian Mao and Qian Rao coming along with the grass-cutting marks. She immediately called out happily, "Third Brother, Fourth Brother!"
Qian Mao breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Qian Duoduo was safe and sound, except for being a little dirty. Seeing her excited expression, he asked, "Did you find money?"
Qian Duoduo laughed and said, "Pretty much. I just saw a big pit over there with two rabbits in it. Let's go catch them and have meat for dinner tonight."
