Chapter 390 Qian Duoduo: Righteously Saving People!

Qian Duoduo looked at the old woman in front of her, her eyes revealing a hint of curiosity and concern. She asked softly, "Grandma, if you sell this house, where will you live afterward?"

The old woman frowned slightly, sighed softly, and replied, "Well... I plan to rent a small house near my son's house. This way, I won't interfere too much with the children's lives, but I can still lend a hand when needed. Moreover, this arrangement is a good choice for me as well."

Qian Duoduo nodded thoughtfully, indicating her understanding. Then, she began to look around the house. Although the interior was somewhat messy, its location was quite excellent. So, she couldn't help but ask, "Grandma, what price are you planning to offer for this house?"

Upon hearing this, the old woman's expression suddenly became tense. She stared intently at Qian Duoduo and asked anxiously, "Young lady, do you mean you intend to buy this house on your own?"

Qian Duoduo smiled and nodded, saying frankly, "Yes, Grandma. My family is large, especially my four older brothers who have all started their own families and married their wives. Their living space is clearly insufficient. I happen to work here and have accumulated some wealth through hard work, so I hope to move out on my own and find a place of my own."

The old woman asked in surprise, "You work around here? There's only one garment factory around here. Do you work there?"

Qian Duoduo remembered that the garment factory was the same one where Director Yang worked, so she nodded.

The old woman said, "That's a good factory. If you want to buy my house, it will cost 1,000 yuan." She then looked at Qian Duoduo with some trepidation.

Actually, Qian Duoduo didn't think the house was that expensive. After all, Dongfang Huating sold for more than 2,000 yuan per square meter, so she readily agreed. However, she hesitated and said, "Grandma, can we draft an agreement before we buy the house?"

The old woman was taken aback: "What kind of agreement?"

Qian Duoduo said, "It's like this. Although you and Grandpa built the house together, now that Grandpa has passed away, the house belongs to you. However, I hope that you and your son can sign this agreement, which states that you cannot come here to cause trouble if anything happens in the future."

The old woman's face immediately darkened, and she gritted her teeth as she said, "Young lady, what do you mean by this?"

Qian Duoduo sighed and said, "Grandma, don't blame me for being cautious. I have a friend who once took a liking to a house. He had already prepared the money and was ready to transfer the ownership. Unexpectedly, the seller changed his mind and disagreed, even causing a scene at the real estate exchange. I was just being cautious."

The old woman didn't say anything more after hearing Qian Duoduo's words. After all, given what had happened before, it was understandable that she was being cautious. She thought for a moment and said, "Then I'll go talk to my son about this. When will you come again?"

Qian Duoduo thought for a moment and said, "Then I'll come back at this time the day after tomorrow. If your son agrees, we can sign an agreement, and I'll pay the money to change the name and transfer the property immediately."

The old woman could only nod when she heard Qian Duoduo's words.

After leaving the old woman's house, Qian Duoduo continued wandering around the old town. The streets here were quite different from the bustling streets of later generations. As she walked, she suddenly saw an elderly man with gray hair being knocked to the ground by a middle-aged couple. Everyone immediately gathered around. The three people were speaking Cantonese very quickly, and Qian Duoduo couldn't understand them. However, she did spot one of them—Wang Liang, a driver from the garment factory's transport team.

She walked through the crowd to Wang Liang's side and called out, "Wang Liang."

When Wang Liang heard someone call his name, he turned around and saw that it was Qian Duoduo. He immediately smiled. He didn't know anything else, but he had helped Qian Duoduo transport aluminum alloy doors and windows to that high-end residential area in Pengcheng. He was the person Qian Duoduo had been bragging about a lot lately, so he immediately greeted him, "Comrade Qian."

Qian Duoduo smiled, raised her chin, and asked, "What's going on?"

Wang Liang glanced at it and said, "This isn't the first time this has happened. I heard the middle-aged man's surname is Gong, and the woman is his wife. Eight years ago, they signed a rental agreement with Old Yang, but Old Yang was sent to the countryside because of his class background. He just came back last year. When he came to collect the rent, the two of them actually said that there was no such thing, and this isn't the first time they've fought."

Qian Duoduo understood that this was a problem left over from history, so she asked, "What does this old man Yang do?"

Wang Liang said with a smile, "Speaking of which, this old Yang's ancestors were a very wealthy man in Guangdong Province. Do you see this street? All the arcade buildings on this street were built by the Yang family. Back when we were fighting against Japan, the head of the Yang family donated money and goods. The once-famous Yang family is probably only left with these two rows of arcade buildings now."

Qian Duoduo nodded. Seeing that the middle-aged couple was about to reach out to Old Yang, she immediately stepped forward, pushed them away, helped Old Yang up, and said, "What are you doing?"

The middle-aged man saw Qian Duoduo standing in front of Old Yang, glared at her, and said, "You bitch, mind your own business." He then threw a punch at Qian Duoduo. Wang Liang hadn't expected Qian Duoduo to step in and break up the fight. Just as he was about to push the man aside, he saw Qian Duoduo kick the man away. He couldn't help but swallow hard; that was damn fierce!

Qian Duoduo helped Old Yang up and asked, "Old man, can you still walk?"

Old Yang's face was pale, his lips trembled, and one hand was still on his left ribs. Qian Duoduo could tell from his appearance that the old man was seriously injured, so she said, "I'd better take you to the hospital first." After saying that, she called out to Wang Liang, and the two of them were about to take Old Yang away from the scene.

The middle-aged man clutched his stomach and howled, yelling that he wanted the police station to arrest Qian Duoduo and that he would sue him.

Qian Duoduo glared at him and said, "Don't you dare run away. I'll be back."

The middle-aged man was taken aback. He hadn't expected Qian Duoduo to dare to threaten him like that. He glanced back at the middle-aged woman but didn't shout anymore, since they couldn't figure out Qian Duoduo's methods either.

After examination at the hospital, Old Yang was diagnosed with a minor fracture in his left rib and some bruises on his face.

Qian Duoduo had the doctor write down all the injuries in her medical record, partly to prevent retaliation from those two men. Returning to the ward, she saw Old Yang staring blankly at the ceiling and asked, "Do you still have family? Do you need me to contact them for you?"

Old Yang heard a woman speaking beside him, turned his head to look at Qian Duoduo, recognized her as the comrade who had brought him to the hospital, and immediately said with gratitude, "Comrade, thank you for saving me."

Qian Duoduo smiled and asked again, "Do you have family? Do you need me to help you contact them?"

Old Yang shook his head and said, "My son is in Hong Kong right now and can't come over."

Qian Duoduo was taken aback and asked, "So what do you plan to do now?"

Old Yang's face turned fierce as he said to Qian Duoduo, "I won't let those two get away with this."
