Chapter 572 Qian Xiang: Back in the county town!

Fu Ning strolled back slowly. When she saw that Wen Yugui was also there, a smile immediately bloomed on her face. She walked briskly forward and said, "Oh, Qian Rao's wife, I didn't expect to see you here! You've been out for a while, why didn't you buy yourself a few new and pretty clothes?"

Upon hearing this, Wen Yugui smiled in return, but the smile didn't seem to reach her eyes. She simply replied, "Well, it's just that the space on this train is so cramped, and it's so crowded. Who has the mind to care about dressing up? These old clothes we're wearing are much more comfortable."

Upon hearing this, Fu Ning couldn't help but chuckle. She then reached out and took the child from Wen Yugui's arms, teasing the child as she remarked with emotion, "Oh dear, if it weren't for thinking about my Jin Shen and this child, I would have loved to stay in Pengcheng for many more days! After all, it's a big city with countless fun things to do and delicious food."

Wen Yugui smiled, seemingly focused on the child in Fu Ning's arms, but her gaze kept glancing at Fu Ning's hand that kept tugging at the hem of her clothes, as if afraid others wouldn't know she was wearing new clothes!

Originally, he only maintained a superficially friendly smile, but now it is no longer as sincere as it was at the beginning.

Yuanfang, who had been standing quietly to the side, couldn't bear to look at his eldest daughter-in-law's appearance. He had never thought she was so short-sighted back in Yuanbao Village!

He wondered if his eyes had been blinded by some kind of golden light when he was choosing a wife for Jin Shen. Otherwise, how could he have chosen such a shallow woman as his eldest son's wife? Once this thought arose, it spread wildly in Yuan Fang's mind like weeds.

Meanwhile, Jin Kuohao, sitting at the other end of the carriage, turned his gaze to Jin Shen, who was smoking. He lowered his voice and cautiously said, "Son, look at your wife. Her eyelids are thinner than paper! If you want to continue your marriage, you'll have to put in some effort to teach her a lesson. Don't let her make a big mistake because of her shortsightedness, otherwise you'll be the one who suffers the most in the end!" After saying this, Jin Kuohao sighed softly.

Hearing his father's advice, Jin Shen slowly nodded. He took a deep drag on his cigarette, exhaled a puff of smoke, and thoughtfully replied, "Father, don't worry, I know what I'm doing. When we get back, I'll definitely find a suitable opportunity to explain everything to her." After saying that, he silently took a few more puffs of his cigarette, seemingly pondering how to explain to his wife the feelings of someone who had suddenly become rich from humble beginnings.

The train sped along the tracks, making a clanging sound like a monotonous and drawn-out melody. Grandma and Grandpa Jin sat in their seats, their eyes somewhat vacant, completely devoid of the excitement they had shown on the way there. Not only them, but even the children were listless; after several days of train travel, everyone seemed dispirited.

Finally, the train slowly pulled into Harbin Railway Station. As the doors opened, people poured out of the carriages, their feet firmly planted on the ground. At that moment, everyone's face spontaneously broke into a happy smile—a long-lost, heartfelt joy.

Qian Xiang led everyone back to his home. Since no one had lived there for a month, a thin layer of dust covered the furniture. Fortunately, many hands make light work, and with everyone working together, they quickly cleaned the resting area and kitchen thoroughly.

At this moment, Qian Xiang smiled and said to everyone, "After sitting on the train for so long, I really want to eat Northeastern cuisine. I know a restaurant nearby that makes pretty good Northeastern food. Of course, it's nowhere near as good as what you make, Auntie! But it's acceptable for this area. Why don't we just go there and eat? Cooking at home is too much trouble and we don't have enough ingredients, so it's not very practical."

At this moment, Qian Xiang had become the backbone of the group, and his suggestion received unanimous approval. So, the group set off in a grand procession toward the restaurant Qian Xiang had mentioned, ready to enjoy a delicious meal of authentic Northeastern cuisine.

After resting for two days in Harbin, Guo Ni went to work, and Qian Xiang took everyone back to the county town by car. Fu Ning couldn't stop thinking about that big villa, and when chatting with others, he would always say, "I have a big villa at home."

Jin Kuohao did not stay in the county town, but took his family directly back to Yuanbao Village.

Fu Ning dragged her slightly weary body back to her small room. As soon as she entered, her gaze involuntarily fell on the large earthen bed that occupied most of the room. Then, her eyes fell on the somewhat dilapidated wardrobe in the corner. Recalling the circumstances of building this house, she couldn't help but feel secretly annoyed. Why had she been so stingy back then, unwilling to buy herself a brand new, beautiful wardrobe! Filled with regret and dissatisfaction, Fu Ning walked forward and gently opened the wardrobe door. The clothes inside were piled up haphazardly, a mess that instantly made her feel irritated. She frowned slightly, a clear look of disgust in her eyes. She secretly wondered what would happen if these old clothes accidentally rubbed against the brand new clothes she had bought in Pengcheng?

Just then, Jin Shen strode into the house. He immediately spotted Fu Ning standing in front of the wardrobe, lost in thought, and curiously approached her, asking, "What are you doing here?"
