The old lady immediately smiled and said, "I heard that your family had four boys?"
Lu Yuan, dressed in loose pajamas, leaned lazily against the soft sofa, but even in such a casual posture, his innate air of a noble young master was still unmistakable. But you probably don't understand the situation, do you? Since my family can arrange for my wife to stay in this VIP ward, how could we be short of money? To tell you the truth, I don't care about this little bit of money at all, and I would never do something as absurd as raising someone else's child just to have a daughter! The old woman finally realized that the other party had never intended to exchange children. She knew her earlier idea was utterly absurd, but what if it had succeeded? Upon hearing this, the young nurse's eyes widened like saucers, her face filled with astonishment. She couldn't believe such a thing had happened; after all, it seemed utterly unbelievable to someone her age!
As soon as Qian Duoduo saw Lu Yuan return, she couldn't wait to ask, "Lu Yuan, what exactly happened?"
Lu Yuan quickly replied, "An old lady just came by and said she wanted to exchange her baby girl for our child!"
Upon hearing this, Qian Duoduo gasped, saying with lingering fear, "Oh my god, thank goodness we locked the door beforehand, otherwise who knows what kind of trouble would have caused!" She then added worriedly, "But speaking of which, this hospital doesn't seem so safe..."
Lu Yuan nodded in agreement, and then said, "How about this, when Mom and our mother come over tomorrow morning, I'll go find Dr. Xia to ask about the situation and see if we can go home. Home is much more comfortable than here."
Qian Duoduo nodded, glanced at the four sleeping children, and slowly lay down as well. The incision was throbbing with pain. She said to Lu Yuan, "Could you apply the medicine I have here to the incision? It hurts a bit."
Lu Yuan took the small jade bottle, dipped a cotton swab in the medicine, and applied it to the cut. He was so careful, as if he were looking at a rare treasure.
The next morning, Wenya and Jin Jinxiu hurried to the hospital carrying a thermos filled with pig's trotter soup for Qian Duoduo. As they reached the bottom of the stairs, they suddenly heard whispers around them. It turned out that the entire hospital knew about the rare occurrence of a woman giving birth to quadruplets, so naturally, people were talking about it, including the rumor that someone had tried to switch babies with her the previous night.
