Chapter 593 Qian Duoduo: My dad, he devoted himself to the country and the people!

At first glance, Lu Yiheng saw four pairs of large, clear, and bright eyes, as lively as those of a fawn. His heart felt as if it had been touched by a warm spring breeze, and instantly softened.

At this moment, Jin Jinxiu walked briskly towards Lu Yiheng and Wen Ya with a big smile on her face. She said cheerfully, "My dear in-laws, you've finally arrived! Look at our four little ones, they change every day! And they're all so obedient and well-behaved!"

Wenya stepped forward and looked at the four babies. She calculated the time; a month had passed since she last saw the quadruplets. Even after such a short time, the four babies looked exactly as she remembered them, though they had clearly grown considerably. What was even more surprising was that when Wenya tried to play with them, the little darlings seemed to recognize her, grinning innocently.

Afterwards, the two of them went to the bathroom to wash their hands and returned to the living room. Lu Yiheng took off his thick coat, carefully picked up a baby, and gently lifted him up. The two of them were so close that he couldn't remember the last time he had held such a small child. Maybe it was when Lu Yuan was little.

He said to Wenya with a big smile, "Xiaoya, look at this little guy, isn't he cute! You can almost see Lu Yuan's shadow in his eyes and brows."

Wenya also took the other baby and showed him off gently, while replying, "No, I think Xiangduoduo is a bit more. The one in the blue clothes is the eldest, Lu Yuan, and the one I'm holding is the second, Lu Hao. This guy might have eaten something!"

The two of them would pick up one baby and play with it for a while, then pick up the next, taking turns and constantly exchanging the babies in their arms, occasionally discussing which of the four children was more lovable. The four babies, meanwhile, blinked their innocent, wide eyes, curiously observing the two unfamiliar people who had suddenly appeared, occasionally letting out a few clear laughs or babbling sounds.

Time slipped away quietly in this warm and cheerful atmosphere, and before they knew it, more than an hour had passed. Lu Yiheng, who had been playing with the child for a while, seemed to suddenly remember something. He looked up, glanced around, a hint of confusion on his face, and asked, "Sister Qian, where's Duoduo? Where did she go?"

Jin Jinxiu handed the water bottle to the child's grandparents and replied unhurriedly, "It's almost Chinese New Year, so Duoduo went out to buy New Year's goods. She also went to the school to check on the progress and I heard she was going to Zhongguancun to give the employees New Year's benefits."

Lu Yiheng nodded in understanding, then laughed and said, "Oh, I see. That explains why I haven't seen her. Duoduo is really hardworking and capable!" He then added, "I heard she's involved in several projects in Pengcheng, especially in Zhongguancun, where she's made the whole village exceptionally well. That's really impressive!"

Hearing her in-laws praise Qian Duoduo so highly, Jin Jinxiu felt a surge of pride and quickly replied modestly, "Our Duoduo is just destined to worry, but she is indeed serious, responsible, and hardworking." After saying this, everyone smiled at each other and continued to play with the babies in their arms, filling the room with laughter and a strong sense of family affection.

As night quietly fell and the stars twinkled across the sky, Qian Duoduo dragged her weary body home. The sky was already shrouded in darkness, like a huge and mysterious black curtain.

As soon as she stepped through the grand and magnificent gate of the villa, an unusual atmosphere enveloped her. Her keen intuition told her that there seemed to be quite a few guests at home today. Considering that her father-in-law, Lu Yiheng, was currently in Shenzhen for an inspection tour, she couldn't help but wonder: Could these guests be related to her father-in-law? Perhaps they had come specifically to visit?

Despite her reluctance, Qian Duoduo was well aware of her responsibilities and obligations as a daughter-in-law. Therefore, she could only helplessly accept the reality—she would have to face various checks and inquiries upon returning home. With a heavy heart, she slowly walked into the villa.

After some twists and turns, Qian Duoduo finally arrived in the living room and met her long-lost in-laws. Lu Yiheng greeted her with a face full of concern, first inquiring about her well-being, and showing particular interest in her pregnancy with quadruplets. After all, nurturing so many new lives is no easy feat, and the hardships involved are unimaginable.

After dinner, Lu Yiheng invited Qian Duoduo to his study to discuss some important matters concerning the development of Pengcheng. In the warm and quiet study, the two sat facing each other, the atmosphere quite harmonious.

During their conversation, Qian Duoduo explained in detail to her father-in-law her various ideas for the future development of Pengcheng. When she mentioned that she had spent a huge sum of money to purchase a piece of land and planned to build a large-scale, unique miniature world landscape there, Lu Yiheng's eyes lit up. He looked at his young and ambitious daughter-in-law with surprise, and a feeling of admiration welled up in his heart.

What surprised Lu Yiheng even more was that, it was said, some people even in Hong Kong had shown great interest in the project and intended to participate. This undoubtedly gave him a completely new understanding of Qian Duoduo's abilities, and he began to look at her with new respect.

Around 9 PM, Lu Yiheng and Wen Ya left by car. Given their special status, staying overnight was clearly inappropriate. Jin Jinxiu and Qian Duoduo stood there, watching the car slowly drive away from sight.

With a smile, Jin Jinxiu asked curiously, "Old lady, what exactly did you and your father talk about in the study just now? I saw that he seemed to be in a very good mood when he left!"

Qian Duoduo smiled confidently and replied, "Mom, my dad holds a high position, so naturally his thoughts revolve around the interests of the country and the people. Shenzhen's development and construction are progressing rapidly, but it will take a long time before it can truly catch up with developed countries. Therefore, his visit to Shenzhen is, on the one hand, to express the central government's high regard for the city's development; and on the other hand, to serve as a reminder and impetus for local officials to ensure that all policies and measures are effectively implemented."

Jin Jinxiu nodded, seemingly understanding, indicating that although she didn't fully grasp the complexities of politics, she understood the simple yet profound principle of "serving the public and the people." She then said with emotion, "Yes, your father shoulders a heavy responsibility for our country. Even during the Lunar New Year, he can't be with his family. Thankfully, your mother is by his side; otherwise, it would be so lonely!"
