Chapter 700 Qian Duoduo: Watching the Olympics Live (2)

On a sunny afternoon, the third day of the track and field competition began, and Qian Duoduo's entourage for watching the games was quite large. In addition to Lu Yuan with their remaining three sons, the loving couple Miao Miao and Hou Yunmingxuan, Ye Yingying, and the children of Lu Xing and Lu Cheng were also present.

Qian Duoduo and Lu Yuan were seated in prime front-row seats, eagerly anticipating witnessing the exciting moment when their son crossed the finish line!

On the night after the first day's 100-meter group competition, Qian Duoduo, as usual, exchanged a few brief words with Lu Hao via text message. Her words were filled with a mother's concern as she inquired about Lu Hao's health. When she learned that her son was doing well, her anxious heart finally found some peace.

Now, Qian Duoduo, holding binoculars, watched the unfamiliar foreigners warming up at the starting line. She turned her head slightly and whispered to Lu Yuan beside her, "Honey, our son is in the fourth group today. The race is around 11 a.m. It's the 200-meter group race. To be honest, I'm not worried about him running the 100 meters, but this is the 200 meters, which he's not good at, so I'm a little worried..." Although her words revealed a hint of worry, her eyes remained fixed on the track where the fierce competition was about to begin, as if she could see through the long distance and in advance her son's dashing figure as he ran.

Lu Yuan held Qian Duoduo's hand tightly, looking at her with a firm yet gentle gaze, and softly comforted her, "Honey, don't worry! Although Lu Hao mainly competes in the 100-meter event, I don't think he has enough endurance to handle this race. After all, he has been undergoing long-distance running endurance training since he was a child, and those sandbags in our house are no joke."

After hearing Lu Yuan's analysis, Qian Duoduo felt a little more at ease, and a smile appeared on her face. She continued, "Haha, if he's really as you say, that would be great. If he runs like the wind, he might really be a 'flying man'!"

Lu Yuan smiled and nodded, replying, "That's right! And think about it, he usually runs with sandbags strapped to his body, which is so tiring. Now that the sandbags are gone, he'll definitely feel as light as a feather when he runs, and his speed will naturally be amazing! He might even become a real 'flying man'!"

Qian Duoduo burst into laughter at Lu Yuan's humorous words, her mood noticeably lightening, and her previously tense nerves gradually relaxing. Seeing this, Lu Yuan secretly breathed a sigh of relief and continued to tease, "Hehe, if he turned into Superman, wouldn't winning this competition be a piece of cake for us? We could easily take the championship!"

The two smiled at each other, and the atmosphere between them became increasingly relaxed and pleasant.

Before long, the intense competition of the first three groups came to an end. Among the athletes in these three groups was none other than Usain Bolt, the world-renowned sprinter from Jamaica! He stood gracefully on the track, his distinctive dark skin gleaming with a healthy glow in the sunlight.

Qian Duoduo stared intently at the legendary athlete, then nudged Lu Yuan beside her with her elbow and whispered, "Hey, look at that Bolt, he's really dark-skinned!"

Lu Yuan smiled slightly and replied softly, "After all, Jamaica is located in the tropics, and the strong sunlight gives most of the locals such dark skin. However, this is also what makes them unique."

Qian Duoduo nodded thoughtfully, agreeing: "That makes sense, and I've heard that Jamaica has produced many outstanding male and female sprinters! The country is indeed quite strong in track and field."

Just as the two were talking, Lu Yuan suddenly pointed excitedly at the track and shouted, "Look, our son is coming out! He's standing in lane three!"

Upon hearing this, Qian Duoduo's attention was instantly drawn to the race track. She quickly raised her binoculars and looked toward the starting line a hundred meters away. Through the lenses, she could clearly see her son wearing a bright red sprint tracksuit, his tall and slender figure of 186 cm standing out among the many runners.

His speed wasn't immediately apparent, but he subtly began to accelerate in the mid-race period. By the final 50 meters, he and a Black runner were leading the pack. They were a full three body lengths ahead of third place. This delighted Qian Duoduo. As they crossed the finish line, Lu Hao finished first in his group by a mere 0.02 seconds, advancing to the semifinals.

This result thrilled Qian Duoduo. She hugged Lu Yuan and said happily, "Our son made it to the semi-finals!"

Lu Yuan also smiled and said, "Yes, and my son has his semi-final match this afternoon."

Qian Duoduo nodded happily. Fortunately, she had already given a firm order to her Weibo marketing department: whenever Chinese athletes won medals, a medal tally would be created on the Weibo homepage, along with a poster of the winning athletes, and a short video of the moment they received their medals would be played on the Weibo homepage, making the Olympics a major highlight of Weibo!

Seeing the joy on the faces of the others, just like Lu Hao's, they were all happy and excited for him. These past few days, whenever Lu Hao announced his advancement, the Lu family would cheer excitedly.

Time ticked by, and after a long wait of several hours, the group finally returned to the stands. Unlike before, this 200-meter semi-final was to be broadcast live on platforms around the world, creating a vibrant and exciting atmosphere with cheers from the audience.
