Chapter 717 Lu Jin: Reputation is earned by oneself!

Qian Duoduo considered that Lu Jin was only in his early twenties, in the prime of his youth, full of energy and dreams, and naturally curious about the opposite sex. It wasn't hard to understand. After all, at such a tender and immature age, it's only natural to have longing for the unknown world of emotions. As long as he could uphold moral principles and not do anything to hurt girls, Qian Duoduo felt she was willing to give him more time to grow and explore.

And so, with their mother's tacit approval, Lu Jin and Liu Zitong, like any ordinary couple, diligently devoted themselves to their studies while also enjoying the sweet taste of love. They often went out to eat together, sampling various delicacies; or strolled hand in hand through the streets and alleys, selecting their favorite clothes and accessories. Sometimes, they would even explore the unique shops hidden in the corners of the city, discovering their distinctive charm. Although they were still unsure where the city's most tempting food was or what fun places to visit were, the process of exploring and discovering new things together was itself full of fun.

As time quietly slipped by, winter vacation arrived in the blink of an eye. Upon parting, Lu Jin personally escorted his girlfriend to the airport and carefully prepared a large amount of local specialties as gifts for her to take back to her family.

With a heart full of excitement, Liu Zitong slowly pushed open the door to her home. As soon as she entered, she felt the overwhelming love from her father and mother. Like a little bird returning to its nest, she rushed into her parents' warm embrace and enjoyed this heartwarming moment.

The very next morning, sunlight streamed through the window and fell on Liu Zitong's face, waking her from her sweet dreams. After washing up, she happily accompanied her mother to her grandmother's house. Along the way, the mother and daughter chatted and laughed, as if the whole world was filled with happiness and joy.

When they arrived at her grandmother's house, Liu Zitong immediately spotted her uncle and aunt sitting on the living room sofa. However, what struck her as odd was that their expressions seemed somewhat unnatural. At first, Liu Zitong didn't think much of it, but as her uncle's barbed remarks and her aunt's sarcastic comments grew, the strange atmosphere became increasingly apparent.

Out of curiosity, Liu Zitong quietly inquired with her mother about the reason behind it. After some questioning, she finally learned the truth. It turned out that her uncle's bookstore had been reported for selling pirated books. Her uncle had hoped to rely on her father's connections to help settle the matter, but the incident had escalated so much that even her father, Liu's father, who had always been influential in the education field, was powerless to help her uncle. Because of this, her uncle couldn't help but feel some dissatisfaction and resentment.

However, when the uncle saw his niece, Liu Zitong, a promising student destined for Tsinghua and Peking Universities and about to pursue her studies at the prestigious Guanghua School of Management, his mood eased somewhat. After all, Liu Zitong was the pride of the family; her outstanding academic achievements and bright future were undeniable. In comparison, his own son was only attending an ordinary university, making it difficult to compare them. Therefore, even though the uncle was unhappy, he couldn't find a suitable excuse to vent his emotions in the face of such an outstanding niece.

After spending some time at her grandparents' house, Liu Zitong finally dragged her tired body back to her warm little home. As soon as she entered, she collapsed onto the soft sofa with a sigh of relief, while her father, who was in the same "Ge You slouch" position as her, was leaning back there leisurely.

Liu Zitong gently patted her father's thick thigh and said with a grin, "Old Liu, you've really worked hard these past few days!"

Mr. Liu raised his head slightly, glanced at his daughter beside him, and replied irritably, "Can't you talk to your old man properly?"

Liu Zitong winked mischievously and continued laughing, "Hehe, Dad, I'm just imitating you! Every time you see Uncle, don't you always tease him like that? Besides, don't you feel tired? Uncle made such a mess of things himself, yet he still expects our whole family to clean up his mess and wipe his butt! I think his behavior is really too unfair! So, Comrade Liu, you must stick to your principles!"

Hearing his daughter's incessant chatter, Mr. Liu sat up straight, his previously languid posture stiffening. His gaze was fixed on her smiling face, and he asked seriously, "Zitong, did you hear any unusual news in the capital?"

Seeing this, Liu Zitong covered her mouth and chuckled, then replied mysteriously, "Oh dear, Dad, Buddha said 'It cannot be spoken of'~"

Mr. Liu rolled his eyes at her, but quickly nodded thoughtfully, indicating that he understood the deeper meaning behind her words.

On the morning of the 27th of the twelfth lunar month, the sunshine in Jiangnan was really nice. Liu Zitong was still sleeping in her bedroom when she heard her husband, Old Liu, knocking on the door. She woke up groggily, called out, and Old Liu immediately came in.

Seeing that Liu Zitong's eyes were still closed, he quickly said, "Why did you buy so much stuff when you came back?"

One sentence made Liu Zitong more alert. Although she didn't understand what Old Liu meant, she still followed her father in a daze to the door. She was stunned when she saw the express delivery box that had blocked the entire door.

Then a deliveryman wearing a Wanmao Logistics uniform popped out from a gap and said with a smile, "Excuse me, are you Ms. Liu Zitong?"
