Qian Duoduo placed a small basket in front of her, then took out a few small branches that her brother had shaved and stuck them on it. She looked at the middle-aged women standing in front of the stall with a smile and said, "Auntie, look, these are red berries. They're coated with syrup and taste sweet and sour."
One of the women, wearing a blue top, asked, "Is this delicious?"
Qian Duoduo unceremoniously stuck one on a wooden skewer and handed it to her: "Auntie, you can try one. If you like it, you can buy it. If you don't like it, you can look at other stores."
Upon hearing that she could sample the fruit, the woman in blue reached out, picked up a red berry skewered on a wooden stick, and put it in her mouth. One bite, and wow, it was truly sweet and sour! She immediately asked, "How much is this?"
He Ying smiled and said, "Two cents for a small flower basket with 15 red berries inside."
The woman in the blue dress was clearly shrewd; she immediately said, "I'm your first customer, can you give me a discount?"
He Ying shook her head and said, "Look, our red berries are all coated with sugar, which is quite expensive, so we really can't skimp on it."
The woman in blue was about to speak when she saw a neatly dressed elderly woman next to her ask, "What is this? How much does it cost?"
He Ying immediately said, "These are red berries. They're coated in sugar, so they're sweet and sour and delicious. Plus, they don't have any seeds inside, so even older people can eat them."
The old lady hesitated for a moment. She hadn't had much of an appetite these past two days and had only come here to buy something she wanted to eat. But when she got here, she saw the bright red berries on the pale green corn leaves, which looked nice, so she came over to ask.
Qian Duoduo said, "Grandma, you can try it. If you like it, you can buy it. If you don't like it, you can look around some more."
Seeing Qian Duoduo's smiling face, the old lady took the wooden skewer from her hand, put it in her mouth, took a bite, and exclaimed, "Wow, delicious! It's sweet and sour, and my appetite seems to have been whetted!" She smiled and asked, "How much is it?"
He Ying said, "Two cents for a small flower basket with 15 red berries inside."
The old lady waved her hand and said, "Give me two."
Qian Duoduo smiled and said, "Mom, put this in this grandma's basket." Then she said to the old lady, "Grandma, this fruit is delicious, but you can't eat too much. Five or six a day is enough. It's good for your appetite and digestion."
The old lady watched Qian Duoduo chattering away and smiled, saying, "Okay, I understand, I'll listen to you."
The woman in blue saw that she, who had been the first to ask, was now being ignored. But the red berries were really delicious, so she took out 40 cents and bought two small flower baskets.
Qian Duoduo watched He Ying collect the money with a smile, her eyes crinkling into crescent moons!
