Chapter 173 Hiring a Driver

Although he had just arrived and was about to leave, Liu Fusheng did not try to stop him.

He could tell that Xu Xiangyang was a very capable person, and that he must be very busy.

“Okay, but is it alright this late? How about we leave tomorrow morning?” he asked.

Xu Xiangyang smiled and said, "It's okay. I just woke up. Even if I don't leave, I've already stayed up all night."

Since that was the case, Liu Fusheng didn't say anything more and saw him to the village entrance.

"Daqiang, be careful on the road."

Xu Xiangyang nodded and then let him go back.

When we arrived at the parking spot, there weren't even any footprints around, so no one had been there.

He stored the car in his spatial storage and then walked to the main road. This road was difficult to travel; it was hard to walk even during the day, and driving at night would probably be even more difficult.

Once he reached the main road, he took out a car and headed home.

Although the journey was uneventful, it was still exhausting. We didn't sleep for a day and a night before finally arriving at our destination.

Back home, Xu Xiangyang collapsed into bed and fell asleep immediately. Nothing more to say, this journey had been utterly exhausting!

His family was used to it; he always did this when he came back from going out: take a nap to calm down.

Seeing that it was still early, Wang Zhongshan went and got a few large bones for Grandma Wang to make soup.

Grandma Wang's health has almost recovered, mainly thanks to the medicine Xu Xiangyang bought. Now she can do housework and cook without any problems.

"How about we make some more dumplings?" Grandma Wang suggested, as she was cooking bones and realized that the amount wasn't enough.

Wang Zhongshan nodded, "Okay, I'll chop the filling in a bit and make some pure meat dumplings, Xiangyang loves them."

Once the elderly couple made their decision, they began to get busy.

When Xu Xiangyang woke up, it was already afternoon. He took a shower and then changed his clothes.

Wang Xiumin was also helping to make dumplings inside. When she saw him coming over, she said, "Go check on the two little ones and see if they've peed."

All three of them had flour on their hands, so they didn't have time to check.

Xu Xiangyang nodded and went inside to check on his two younger brothers. He had to admit, kids were just adorable.

When they're not crying or fussing, they look so soft and cuddly, I just want to pick them up and lift them up high.

but……

These two kids are incredibly difficult to manage; you can hear them crying all night long.

Xu Xiangyang checked the two children's blankets; they were not wet.

He saw two cans of milk powder on the bedside table. He had bought them several days ago, but hadn't opened them yet.

"Mom, let's give the baby the formula then, so it won't expire and become unusable." Xu Xiangyang said to Wang Xiumin as soon as he came out, because it's not good to always be so frugal.

Upon hearing that it could expire, Wang Xiumin immediately put down the rolling pin and said, "How can it expire? Wasn't it brand new?"

She is indeed struggling to feed two children, but when she thinks about how expensive formula is, she doesn't want to let the children eat it.

After a few months of consistent feeding, she was ready to eat solid foods, so we stopped making formula.

Xu Xiangyang knew she was worried about such small things. "Mom, we should save where we can, but we can't skimp on the children's food. These twins are already malnourished; if you don't feed them enough, won't that cause problems?"

It's best not to skimp on this child. He was born prematurely and is already smaller and thinner than other babies. Now that he can eat his fill, we have the means, it's not like we can't afford to.

Wang Xiumin sighed. Of course she knew, but she couldn't bear to part with it. She'd been poor for so long; it was ingrained in her very being.

Seeing her like this, Xu Xiangyang said, "Give the baby the milk powder I brought back for you. Otherwise, it will expire and the money will be wasted."

Faced with the choice between wasting food and using it for the child, Wang Xiumin chose to feed the child well.

“That’s right, it’s such a waste to let them expire, we paid for them all,” Grandma Wang advised from the side.

This time, Xu Xiangyang didn't care anymore. He would bring back one can a week from now on, which, together with Wang Xiumin's original breast milk, should be enough.

The family had a lively dinner together that evening. Whenever he was home, the house was always filled with joy.

The next day, Xu Xiangyang went to work; it was time for his shift.

He was the first one to arrive today. After he lit the stove, Qian Wenqing came over too.

"Brother Xu is back!" he greeted with a smile, then took the stove hook from Xu Xiangyang and took over the rest of the work.

Xu Xiangyang didn't argue with him; being able to rest was certainly better. He asked, "Has anything been happening at work lately?"

Although I haven't been to work for two days, who knows if something big might happen.

Qian Wenqing shook his head. "What's wrong? Payday is coming up soon, that's the important thing."

I look forward to this day every month, just waiting to get paid and have a good time.

Xu Xiangyang glanced at the extra desk in the office and asked, "Have you found a driver?"

There used to be three tables, now there are four, which obviously means there are new people here.

Qian Wenqing pursed his lips and said, "It seems that I was hired by Master Chen at the beginning of the month."

Although he hadn't met those two people, he guessed they were both incompetent. Finding experienced drivers is too difficult these days; most people already have stable jobs.

Xu Xiangyang nodded without asking any further questions. No matter how many people he recruited, he didn't want to train new people.

There's not much to do at work these days, so he takes time to relax and have fun. Seeing that he had nothing to do, he went out for a stroll.

They ran right into Cao Yajun coming this way, and both of them were stunned for a moment.

"Secretary Cao, are you here on business?" Xu Xiangyang greeted him with a smile.

Cao Yajun nodded. "I came here with the leader to take care of some business. I haven't seen you lately. What have you been up to?"

He had a fairly good impression of Xu Xiangyang. Although it wasn't as deep as that of friends or colleagues, it was still better than that of most people.

Xu Xiangyang laughed and said, "What am I busy with? I'm just busy doing nothing."

He has almost no time outside of work; he's really quite busy.

Cao Yajun glanced at him and then said, "There's an event in a few days, want to come along?"

Activity?

Xu Xiangyang looked at him with a puzzled expression, "What activity?"

"It's just roller skating, just for fun," Cao Yajun replied.

It's basically just people from their circle getting together from time to time, and sharing any resources they have internally.

Xu Xiangyang was of course unaware of their usual affairs, but Cao Yajun said that going there would definitely not do any harm.

"Sure, but I don't know which day I'll be going on the business trip. Do you have any specific dates?"

If it coincides with a business trip, then I'll definitely choose to go on the business trip.

Cao Yajun said, "It's next weekend. See if you have time. If you do, wait for me at the supply and marketing cooperative at nine o'clock in the morning. If you don't come, I'll go by myself."

Since it's inconvenient to contact people now, we can't very well not go to their homes to let them know, can we?

"Okay, you go ahead and get busy." Xu Xiangyang nodded in agreement. He had nothing else to do anyway, and if he wasn't on a business trip, he would go and take a look.

The two agreed on a time and then parted ways.

Cao Yajun came here on business, so he couldn't just chat outside all the time. It would be really bad if the leaders saw him.
