Chapter 227 "Secretary Xu"

Seeing this, Xu Xiangyang turned and went to a large supermarket.

It has everything; it's quite well-stocked.

There's a market nearby, but it's closed at night, so this is the only place I can go.

Although it's a bit more expensive than in the market, the items are fresh and there's a wide variety of goods.

Pushing the shopping cart, Xu Xiangyang went straight to the fresh produce section.

This place is by the sea, so there's a lot of seafood. The space has everything except seafood.

This left him feeling quite resentful, after all, he loved seafood so much in his past life.

This isn't the season for seafood, so there aren't many varieties available.

Xu Xiangyang bought several kilograms of river crabs and ten kilograms of oysters.

This time it's really made up for!

But all that supplementation is useless! That's enough.

For him, who loves oysters, ten pounds of oysters is only enough for one person.

Just eating this stuff, plus a couple of beers, would be wonderful.

Don't be fooled by the claim that ten pounds of oysters is a lot; the shells take up most of the weight, and there's not much meat.

Xu Xiangyang bought seafood and then bought five pounds of crayfish.

Because tomorrow is Wang Xiumin's birthday, and he remembered it. He had heard her say that she wanted to eat seafood, but where could she buy it in the dead of winter?

Let alone winter, even in normal seasons, it's difficult for seafood to get to their area.

Since I've never eaten it before, and Aunt Liu said she'd been to Haicheng and eaten seafood there, I started to crave it.

Xu Xiangyang didn't have time either. It was someone's birthday, so even if he didn't have time, he had to squeeze it out!

As he left the supermarket, he passed a jewelry store, thought for a moment, and then went inside.

The next morning, Xu Xiangyang made an excuse to go out early and came back carrying a large basket.

"What did you buy? Such a big basket!" Grandma Wang had just come out to make breakfast when she saw him come in.

Xu Xiangyang smiled and said, "I bought some food, and I asked someone to bring it over. Go pick it up soon."

Since his family didn't know who he knew, he could just make up any excuse.

Grandma Wang didn't ask any more questions, nodded, and went to the kitchen. There was no rice in the pot to cook porridge yet.

Xu Xiangyang carried the things to the kitchen and then went back.

The gifts will have to wait until tonight; it's still early.

"Xiangyang, how do you make those things?" Wang Xiumin quickly came out to ask as he was about to leave.

While she was eating, she overheard Grandma Wang talking about the things in the kitchen. When she pressed her for details, Xu Xiangyang admitted that they were seafood.

Hearing this, she was overjoyed. Her neighbor, Aunt Liu, often talked about her experiences eating seafood, saying it tasted exceptionally delicious.

The seafood Wang Xiumin had eaten was only scallops and dried shrimp, which must have tasted much better than these, right?

So she couldn't wait to ask how it was made, because she wanted something delicious for dinner.

Seeing how happy she was, Xu Xiangyang smiled too, "I'll cook when I get back tonight, you just wait."

These things can't be taught how to make them just by telling them how. Besides river crabs, there are oysters that can be taught, but without seasonings, you simply can't teach how to make crayfish.

Wang Xiumin had no choice but to endure it and reluctantly agreed, "Okay, then come back soon."

Xu Xiangyang smiled, then turned and went to work.

The events of yesterday are still unfolding at work, but no one is daring to discuss them anymore.

"Assistant Xu, come to my office." Cao Yajun saw him coming and called him directly into his office.

Xu Xiangyang smiled and nodded, then walked over, wondering to himself what he wanted.

He glanced out of the corner of his eye and noticed that others were also looking at him, but their eyes held a hint of... schadenfreude?

Now he was even more curious. What on earth could have made them so happy?

Once inside the office, Cao Yajun said, "Close the door."

Xu Xiangyang obediently closed the door.

"Secretary Cao, is there anything I can help you with?" He walked over and stood in front of the desk.

The office is small, about ten square meters, with only a sofa, a coffee table, a bookshelf, and a desk.

Cao Yajun looked up and said with a smile, "Why are you standing? Sit down, there's no one else here."

Xu Xiangyang: ? ? ?

He glanced at the person opposite him, then sat down.

"Secretary Cao, isn't this the workplace? Just do what you'd expect after work," he said with a smile, then straightened up and sat up straight.

His attitude made Cao Yajun nod in approval; he certainly wouldn't cause him any trouble.

"Here's the thing, Secretary Wang from Director Liao's side has been transferred, and now we're short a secretary. Go over there tomorrow, no, today."

Holy crap?

Xu Xiangyang's smile froze...

Go be Liao Shizhang's secretary?

Wait a minute, why did those people look so gloating when he became Liao Shichang's secretary?

This time, he didn't hold back and asked directly, "Secretary Cao, what kind of person is Director Liao? I haven't been with the unit for long, and I'm really afraid of offending someone. He's a leader, so it's necessary to be careful."

Logically, there was nothing wrong with what he said, but Cao Yajun just had an awkward expression on his face.

He smiled and said, "It's nothing, Liao Shizhang is a very nice person."

Xu Xiangyang was stunned...

What kind of expression is that?

You seem like a nice person? Then why are you making that face?

Secretary Cao glanced at the time and said, "That's fine then. Go and get back to work, and work well with Director Liao. I have something to do; I have a meeting that's urgent."

As he was saying this, the man was about to pick up his bag and leave?

They've left?

Can you please explain yourself clearly?
