"Are you sick?" The man looked at him as if he were a lunatic.
Xu Xiangyang asked casually, "You know how to treat illnesses? But I can't come to you for medical treatment."
The two of them had attracted several people while they were talking.
When they saw it was the couple, everyone acted as if it were nothing out of the ordinary.
“Hey Zhang Fu, look what you’ve done to your wife! She’s been taking care of you and the children every day, can’t you at least show some restraint?” An old woman stepped forward and pointed at him.
Everyone else was the same, but most of them were just there to watch the show.
Xu Xiangyang leaned to one side, afraid that if another fight broke out, he would be caught in the crossfire.
"What's it to you? You old hag, what business is it of yours to meddle? You shameless idiot!" Zhang Fu retorted directly.
Clearly, their neighborly relations were not harmonious.
The old lady blushed deeply at the insult. At her age, how could a younger person be so impolite?
Before she could say anything, the people around her started to complain.
"Zhang Fu, don't be ungrateful. That old lady is just laughing at how you're living. Can't you read the room?"
"How dare you talk to an old lady like that? Call your old man Zhang out here!"
"Right, where's Old Zhang? Even he wouldn't dare talk to an old lady like that, would he?"
The alleyway suddenly became chaotic, and everyone started to get unhappy.
At this time, most people have just finished work and eaten dinner, and they start to come out with their bowls to watch the excitement, eating and watching at the same time.
"You brat! Get back here right now!" An old man walked out from the side.
Then he said to Zhang Fu, "I'll teach you a lesson for being so rude!"
As he spoke, he slapped Zhang Fu on the head.
Although Zhang Fu had drunk some alcohol, he was only capable with women; he wouldn't dare do that with his father.
"Old sister, I'm so sorry, I didn't raise my son well." Old Zhang said with a smile, pulling Zhang Fu away.
Zhang Fu pointed to the woman over there in the crowd, "Father, Wang Qin is back!"
"Ignore her! Get her out of here! What good is a barren hen like you!" Old Zhang said, annoyed, and dragged his son away.
Wang Qin's eyes dimmed, but she said nothing.
Everyone else left, and the excitement was over.
The old lady glanced at Wang Qin and said, "Little Qin, go back to your parents' home. The Zhang family isn't any good either!"
That's what they say, but they also see that Wang Qin hasn't had a child yet. Without a child, how can she gain a foothold in her husband's family?
The others gave her pitying looks, but said nothing.
Wang Qin thanked the old lady but didn't refute anything. She knew her own situation best.
Seeing that there was nothing else to do, Xu Xiangyang pushed his bicycle and prepared to leave.
"Thank you, young comrade," Wang Qin said.
Xu Xiangyang didn't turn back, and rode away on his bicycle.
When faced with such a situation, he still doesn't want to get involved in trouble; it's better to just watch from the sidelines, for fear of someone getting killed.
Since someone is protecting it, he won't interfere anymore.
When I got home, dinner was already ready.
"Why are you only getting back now?" Wang Xiumin complained, then walked over to him and said, "It's so hot today, you went out in the middle of the day and are only getting back now."
Xu Xiangyang laughed and said, "I'm young and strong, I'll be fine."
He knew it was out of concern, so he felt no burden.
Wang Zhongshan, standing to the side, was not optimistic about this approach. "Xiu Min, how old is the child? How could she not know what's good or bad?"
In his eyes, what hardship can't a real man endure? Why worry about the heat?
Wang Xiumin wasn't like this before. Xu Xiangyang was a mischievous child. No matter how hot the weather was, even if it was scorching hot, he would still go out to play.
But now that Xu Xiangyang is working in the city, she's been quite worried, especially with all the commotion these past two years, fearing that her child might be affected.
"Alright, let's eat. The food is ready." Grandma Wang got up to serve the food.
Xu Xiangyang gave Wang Xiumin a reassuring look, and then went to help as well.
After dinner, he felt he couldn't stay there any longer, as it would be inconvenient for him to do things in the future.
The courtyard across the street has been empty, so you could move there.
He didn't rush to talk about it, but planned to wait a little longer.
At 8:30, the Xu family members were all asleep. He got dressed, quietly closed the door, and went out.
Hearing the sound from inside, Wang Xiumin couldn't help but sigh. She was worried too; it wasn't a big deal if she couldn't see him often, she'd just think about him.
But when she heard her child going out in the middle of the night, she became worried.
"What's wrong?" Xu Guangtian glanced at the two sleeping brothers, then turned to look at her.
Wang Xiumin rolled over and said, "Don't you think I'm being too annoying right now? I'm always nagging."
She also felt that she had become increasingly talkative since giving birth to twins.
Xu Guangtian smiled and said, "You still know that? Don't worry about those things."
He didn't think much of it, assuming that Wang Xiumin was overthinking it.
“No.” Wang Xiumin sat up and said, “I always feel like I’m interfering too much with the kids, and my dad says so too. Sigh… I wasn’t like this before, was I?”
A while ago, someone in the neighborhood was arrested and then went down, so she's always worried.
Xu Guangtian then realized what she was talking about, so he patted her shoulder and pulled her into his arms.
“Xiumin, the child has grown up. You can’t always treat him like a child. Although he is a child in our eyes, he is also a capable cadre in the outside world.”
