Chapter 412 Clues

Xu Xiangyang listened for a long time but there was no further sound, so he guessed that nothing serious had happened.

The item is lost, and there's no evidence. What can they do to me?

Even if there is evidence that it was him, so what?

Xu Xiangyang: Huh? You can't do anything about me, I'm just having fun!

After turning off the listening device, he began preparing the order form.

Since I have plenty of time and nothing else to do, I'll order more and not worry about them expiring; I can just store them in my online space.

After making the list, Xu Xiangyang calculated how much money was needed and then prepared it.

These items require a deposit after ordering, and the balance is paid upon delivery; it has always been this way.

After another four days of delay, Xu Xiangyang finally returned to the factory.

Of course, they also took the fabric back with them.

This is something everyone is waiting for; if we don't take it back, these people will all be crying.

The factory's interests concern everyone, and everyone wants the factory to prosper.

Seeing Xu Xiangyang return with the fabric, Guan Qilin breathed a long sigh of relief.

"Director Xu, my heart was pounding in my chest if you didn't come back soon." He could finally breathe a sigh of relief.

Xu Xiangyang has been away these past few days, and he's been very anxious. There's nothing he can do; he has no connections and can only wait for him to return.

Xu Xiangyang smiled and said, "The fabric has all been brought back. Send it to the warehouse and process the orders quickly. By the way, how's the matter of the missing fabric going?"

He knew perfectly well that if this matter were handled properly and the fabric were recovered, why would he say such things?

Guan Qilin shook his head. "We couldn't find anything, but there were signs of a cart being pulled along the back. Although it was damaged, there were definitely wheel marks."

This is a clue, but for the sake of recovering the fabric, it's the same as having no clue at all.

Xu Xiangyang already knew that there wasn't even a surveillance camera now, so how could they possibly find it?

"Alright, let Section Chief Huang investigate first. You keep an eye on the workshop and make sure the orders aren't delayed." He gave this instruction and went to check the wall outside.

The area has been cordoned off, in case someone comes to cause trouble, and someone has been sent over to keep watch.

Upon seeing Xu Xiangyang arrive, the man quickly came over to greet him.

"Director Xu is here," Hou Yu greeted him warmly.

The way he bowed and scraped looked exceptionally obsequious.

Xu Xiangyang nodded. "I'll come and take a look. Don't worry about it."

He ignored Hou Yu's enthusiasm and then looked at the tire tracks. The tracks were still quite clear, though they had been scratched by branches or something, but they were still clearly visible.

Judging from the width of the wheels, it should be a flatbed cart, which he used to use often, so he knows it clearly.

"Director Xu, these are the wheel tracks of the cart, and they lead all the way to the main road. There are more tracks ahead," Hou Yu said, pointing in the direction.

Xu Xiangyang didn't say anything, stood up, and looked at the main road. Once they got there, there really wouldn't be any clues left.

He looked to the side and saw that the footprints were messy, showing no intention of preserving the scene.

Were there no footprints here to begin with? Why weren't the footprints marked?

Even half a footprint is a clue; we can then investigate the factory's employees.

If someone fits the bill, great; if not, then so be it.

Now, apart from this half-finished tire track, there are no other clues.

Xu Xiangyang watched for a while and then left, and Hou Yu said goodbye to him from behind.

Why does this person seem so awkward? Aren't they being way too enthusiastic?

He frowned and thought for a moment. Could this really be the work of this person?

That's unlikely...

Looking back, I saw the person sitting back down in the chair, doing who knows what.

He went back to his office and worked on the things that had been piling up on his desk for the past few days.

Previously, Guan Qilin would handle things when they went out, but now that the factory problems haven't been resolved, he's also at his wit's end.

After finishing his work, it was already past 11 a.m., but he didn't go to the cafeteria for lunch.

The fabric issue must be resolved, otherwise what if the higher-ups find out?

I was resting on my desk for a while when I heard someone knocking on the door.

"Please come in." He looked up and rubbed his sleepy eyes.

Guan Qilin entered, carrying a lunchbox.

"Director Xu, I heard you haven't eaten yet. Things need to be resolved, but you also need to eat." He said, placing his lunchbox on the table.

Xu Xiangyang smiled and said, "I know, I was busy with work and didn't think about going to eat."

"Director Guan, why did you come over to bring me food?"

Guan Qilin sighed. He hadn't expected that Xu Xiangyang's eating habits had anything to do with him.

"Isn't this because I was worried about you?" he said with a smile. "Hurry up and eat your food, then you can go back to work later. I'm going home now."

After saying that, he stood up, turned around, and left.

No matter what, it was Xu Xiangyang who solved this problem; otherwise, they might have faced many order cancellations.

These orders were hard-won to begin with, and if they get cancelled, it'll be all over.

Xu Xiangyang watched him leave, then opened the lunchbox, which contained stir-fried shredded potatoes and steamed buns made from a mixture of wheat and water.

The factory is now facing a problem: the food isn't very good.

He thought about it and decided to eat it anyway; what difference did it make what he ate?

After finishing his meal, he went directly to the purchasing department.

He's never been there, mainly because he hasn't been busy with other things either.

"Director Xu, what brings you here? Did you need me to come find you?" The purchasing department manager stood up and quickly came over to greet him.

Xu Xiangyang nodded, recognizing him, and said, "Minister Zhuang, I've come here just to take a look."

He followed the people into the office inside, where several staff members were watching from the outside.

Minister Zhuang closed the door and then poured him a glass of hot water.

"Director Xu, you must be very busy lately?" He asked with a smile as he sat down opposite him.

Xu Xiangyang nodded. "It's alright, Minister Zhuang. How's the purchasing department doing? They've been busy with other things lately and haven't been able to take care of many other departments."

That's the truth. Besides dealing with issues at the factory, he also has to take care of external orders. He feels like he could be two people in one.

Minister Zhuang heard his words, then his eyes flickered, and he wondered what Xu Xiangyang's purpose was.

Is it because their purchasing department is doing a bad job? Otherwise, why would they ask such a question?

However, you can't ask directly; you can only answer honestly.

"Director Xu, our purchasing department has always been the same as always. Except for the canteen, we can complete all other tasks." He wiped the sweat from his brow.

The weather in June wasn't hot, but he was nervous. He didn't know if Director Xu had come to interrogate him.

If he said something inappropriate and offended the factory manager, he would be in deep trouble.

Xu Xiangyang glanced at him indifferently and said, "Minister Zhuang, I think the food in the factory canteen is just so-so. If it weren't for Chef Sun's good cooking skills, it would probably be even worse."

That's how it is at times like this; how delicious can food cooked in a communal pot be?

But Master Sun was able to research it, and the taste was pretty good.
