Chapter 69 Kidnapped!

Xu Xiangyang never understood who he had offended and why he had been beaten up when he went out.

When he woke up, he felt a throbbing pain in his head and a vague feeling of nausea.

He tried to sit up, but his hands were tied, and he was immobilized.

Everything was pitch black. He knew that someone had blindfolded him, preventing him from seeing his surroundings.

His mouth was also blocked, and the smell was truly awful, making his already nauseous stomach churn even more.

Xu Xiangyang lay there without moving, wanting only to calm himself down.

He could now clearly sense that he had suffered a concussion.

"Ugh ugh ugh!!!" A sound rang out, and Xu Xiangyang realized that there was another person tied up in the room.

The man kicked wildly and struggled. Although he couldn't see it, Xu Xiangyang could guess what was going on.

After all, most people wake up in this state, and only a few can remain calm like him.

A muffled thud was heard.

Xu Xiangyang heard another muffled groan of pain, "Ugh..."

I guess he got beaten up.

"Behave yourself!" a male voice rang out, his tone menacing.

Xu Xiangyang knew this man was not someone to be trifled with; someone who could knock him unconscious and take him away was no ordinary man.

After all, most people are malnourished these days, so knocking someone out and taking them away is no easy task.

He racked his brains but couldn't recall offending anyone. Robbery? What money could a working-class man like him have?

Robbery?

That's even more impossible; he's not a woman.

Who could it be?

Xu Xiangyang thought to himself, "I have offended Liu Quanshan today. He doesn't have that much power, does he?"

After thinking it over and over, he still couldn't guess who it was, so he could only stay put.

"You're awake, still pretending?" the man's voice rang out again.

Xu Xiangyang's heart skipped a beat. It seemed that he couldn't see outside at all while blindfolded, so his every move must have been noticed.

Now that he'd been discovered, he simply sat up straight and moved around a bit to make himself as comfortable as possible.

I don't know how long I've been tied up. My whole body aches, and the places where I'm tied up feel burning and uncomfortable.

A series of footsteps sounded, and the man walked up to Xu Xiangyang, then removed the rag from his mouth and the blindfold from his eyes.

Xu Xiangyang didn't open his eyes immediately. Instead, he took a moment to adjust to the lighting before finally opening them.

My vision blurred for a moment, and then I saw a middle-aged man I didn't recognize in front of me.

This man was about forty years old, bald, burly, and looked menacing and intimidating.

Xu Xiangyang moistened his throat with saliva and then asked, "Comrade, I don't think I know you. Why did you arrest me?"

Although he wasn't sure if he would get an answer, he still had to ask.

The man sneered, his eyes practically spitting fire as he looked at the person in front of him.

"Why did we arrest you?" He narrowed his eyes and said through gritted teeth, "You two were the ones who reported us in Shancheng, weren't you? Hmm? Otherwise, how come this happened these past two days? Call the police? You'd better see if the police can come to your rescue now!"

It turns out it was that group from the mountain city!

But... you guys?

Xu Xiangyang turned to look at the person next to him, and it was none other than Qian Wenqing!

This guy was beaten black and blue, and he probably wasn't much better off.

However, the man did not remove the rag from Qian Wenqing's eyes and mouth, but only removed it for himself.

I guess they want to teach them a lesson one by one?

But this is too strange; he was disguised when he reported it.

Besides, even if the police see him, they might not know who he is.

How did I get caught?

Xu Xiangyang felt that this person must have thought that they had just been robbed and then something happened. There was no other suspect besides this incident.

This is really bad luck. When he first heard Qian Wenqing say that someone had run away, he felt it was a potential problem.

Their company went to the police station before; if they wanted to cause trouble, they would definitely go after them.

I didn't expect them to find them so quickly. Why didn't you go and make a comeback instead of coming back to find them?

Besides, if you want to cause trouble, you should go to the grain bureau. They're just employees, why bother with them!

Xu Xiangyang felt frustrated looking at the current situation. Seeing Qian Wenqing trembling with fear, he guessed that Qian Wenqing was also scared. At this moment, he felt that his task was very important.

This person is no longer reliable. How to escape? It's up to me...

"Comrade, I think there's some misunderstanding here. You see, we were just driving normally, and you were robbing people normally. The robbery failed and the police raided the place. That doesn't seem to have much to do with us, does it?" Xu Xiangyang tried to stall for time and look for any loopholes.

Sitting here and waiting like this will probably only lead to the arrival of the King of Hell. It's pitch black outside, surrounded by dilapidated and dangerous houses, and there are two candles burning inside.

It's obvious there's no one here, and even if you call for help, probably no one will come.

The man could tell from the way the boy's eyes darted around that he was no ordinary guy.

However, he wasn't worried. Nobody ever passed by here. He wanted to ask someone for help? Probably no one would come even during the day.

This is a place he's been scouting for days, just to bring the two of them here.

The man sneered, not answering his question, but instead asking, "You beat up Lao Si, didn't you? He's still in the hospital. Don't you feel guilty at all?"

He was furious just thinking about it! The person isn't even fully recovered yet, how could they have hit him so hard?

Feeling guilty?

Xu Xiangyang thought to himself, if he felt guilty, he probably wouldn't be able to fight back when he encountered danger in the future.

Why didn't he feel guilty when others targeted him? There are plenty of good people in this world, so why should he humble himself and let others succeed? Isn't that just being a complete idiot?

How dangerous was the situation? If he hadn't resisted, he probably would have been robbed and beaten up.

Since neither option will lead to a good outcome, wouldn't it be better to just hit someone?

Besides, this guy beat Qian Wenqing up like that, but he didn't seem guilty at all.

Xu Xiangyang was just thinking about it. If he dared to say it out loud, he might anger the other side and they might fight him again.

They were tied up, like fish on a chopping board, completely at the mercy of others!

He said timidly, "Comrade, weren't we just trying to protect ourselves? You have to understand..."

"I understand you m@#*!" The man flew into a rage, spewing profanities.

His brother is still bedridden and can't move; how can he understand that?

Xu Xiangyang saw him suddenly jump up, and he was holding a wooden stick as thick as an arm.

Isn't this fucking over?

If I had known this person had such a bad temper, I should have pretended to be mute!

His heart pounded as he watched the man's stick fall again!

If that stick comes down on him, will he even survive?
