Chapter 79 Let's give the job to Xiang Min.

Zhang Xiufen's expression changed quickly, but it would be fine if she could stay here now. She had heard that Xu Xiangyang was now a driver, earning more than thirty yuan a month, plus benefits and subsidies, which brought him to more than forty yuan a month.

They'd seen this kind of money before, but how much could they save in a whole year? This person earned so much in just one month.

"Dog Egg, we've come here today to talk to you about something." She paused for a moment, then looked at Xu Xiangyang.

He said, "Give this job to Xiangmin. He's more educated than you, and he'll definitely do a better job than you in the future. Let Xiangmin live in this house too; he'll definitely remember your kindness."

Upon hearing this, not only Xu Xiangyang, but also Xu Guangtian and his wife standing nearby were furious.

Wang Xiumin slammed her hand on the table, stood up, and said, "Mother, do you have to be so biased? We've already separated the family, how can you say such a thing? And you want Gou Dan to give the job to Xiang Min? I don't agree!"

She was still angry, and looking at Zhang Xiufen didn't appease her. She turned to look at Xu Guangshan and Xu Xiangmin, who were standing silently to the side.

"Brothers, you guys are really shameless, actually trying to take advantage of your own nephew. What were you thinking?"

This barrage of sarcasm made Xu Guangshan's face flush red. He turned to Xu Guangtian and said, "Your wife is talking about your older brother, can't you do anything about it?"

"Take care of them? That's what I wanted to say too, you guys are shameless! Bah!" Xu Guangtian also stood up, glaring at the people in front of him through gritted teeth.

At home, the old lady always sides with the eldest son's family. Even though five fingers are of different lengths, he doesn't care about that. He's content with his own life; making a good living is better than anything else.

But in the end, Xu Guangshan still coveted his son's house. How could that be acceptable? He even asked them to give up their jobs. How shameless!

"How dare you talk like that!" Zhang Xiufen slammed her hand on the table, stood up, and said, "That's your older brother!"

"Does he know he's my older brother? Is there such a thing as an older brother?" Xu Guangtian turned to question his mother, his disappointment evident in his eyes.

Xu Guangshan wanted to say something, but Xu Xiangmin, who was next to him, pulled his sleeve, gesturing for him to sit down and not get involved.

Xu Xiangyang saw all of these actions. This Xu Xiangmin is quite shrewd. He let his grandmother take the lead, while he sat there without saying a word.

Zhang Xiufen was furious with Xu Guangtian and said fiercely, "What, you want to rebel?"

These children were all very obedient when they were young, but since they got married, they have all had their own agendas. The youngest son is especially unreliable!

Xu Guangtian took a deep breath and said, "Mother, we've separated our family. You don't need to worry about our affairs. Isn't Xiangmin a college graduate? He'll be a cadre in the future. Why does he have to steal Xiangyang's job?"

It would have been better if these words hadn't been said; once they were out, all three of them looked grim.

Zhang Xiufen felt sorry for her eldest grandson but didn't want them to laugh at her, so she avoided the topic.

"I'm just asking you, is it okay or not? Can you give in?"

This is a very tough stance, and it even carries a threatening connotation.

"No way!" Xu Guangtian shouted directly. There was no room for negotiation; it was impossible!

Wang Xiumin was very happy. This time, she didn't even have to lift a finger; her own man could handle it.

"Fine!" Zhang Xiufen said, "Since you don't agree, then our family is completely severed from now on. Don't call me 'Mom' anymore, and I won't have you as my son anymore!"

These kinds of words are already devastating to most people. Who could bear it when their parents cut ties with them?

Xu Guangtian sneered at these words, "It's no different from us cutting ties now. In your eyes, our family is just a burden anyway. If Xiangyang hadn't gotten this job, would you have come here?"

Indeed, Zhang Xiufen didn't hesitate to think it wouldn't happen. She wanted to stay far away from the third son's family; what if they ran out of food and she had to go to them?

"Fine, you said it!" Zhang Xiufen left with her people, not caring that it was getting dark.

Xu Guangtian sat silently in the chair. Some things he said might not seem like much of a concern, but once those words were spoken, who would feel good about it?

After Zhang Xiufen and her entourage came out, they headed straight out of the city, intending to go home.

Xu Xiangmin never expected things to develop this way; it was even his idea to come up with this threat.

Who knew that Xu Guangtian would be so clueless and actually agree!

He gave Xu Guangshan, who was standing next to him, a look that signaled him to go and talk to him.

Xu Guangshan understood what he meant, and then said to Zhang Xiufen, who was walking ahead, "Mother, what will happen to Xiangmin's job if we just leave like this? Schools aren't even teaching anymore, and he's got no job prospects?"

I was about to graduate from university in less than two years when, unexpectedly, the school stopped giving lectures and the college entrance examination was also suspended.

Isn't this just asking for trouble?

Zhang Xiufen was also furious, but she could tell that the other party didn't agree at all, and even if she died there today, they probably still wouldn't agree.

After all, they had just said they would sever ties, and most people would have given in, but they actually disagreed.

"We'll see when the time comes," she replied hastily, and continued on her way without looking back.

Xu Xiangmin felt a chill run down his spine upon hearing this. Was this the end for him? He had no desire to go back to work.

I came out to school so I could become a cadre and get a government job. Now that I've gone back, I know I'll never be able to come out again!

"Grandma! I don't want to farm. I want to work so you and Grandpa can live a good life! I also want to buy a house in the city so you can move in." He's saying all sorts of nice things now, he just wants to stay in the city and work.

Unfortunately, Zhang Xiufen simply didn't have that ability.

She sighed, stopped, and looked back at her beloved grandson.

“Xiangmin, I know you don’t want to farm. I also feel sorry for you going to farm. You should be working in the city.” She felt sorry for you too.

We've supported his education for so many years, and all the good food and drinks in the house have been given to our eldest grandson. We just want him to succeed.

There was no other way, so she could only say, "Let's go back first. Grandma definitely won't let you farm."

Upon hearing that he wouldn't be farming, Xu Xiangmin reluctantly agreed. There was nothing he could do; that was just the way things were.

After they left, Xu Xiangyang went out again and brought out some meat and grain, asking Wang Xiumin to cook.

He wanted to say a few words to Xu Guangtian, after all, he had just tried his best to defend his family.

“Dad, if you feel reluctant to give up this job, then so be it.” He said softly, “Your son is capable, it’s not like I can’t survive without this job.”

"What are you saying!" Xu Guangtian looked up and glared at him, saying, "Just do your job well, Dad knows what's going on, you don't need to enlighten me."

He rolled his eyes and then ignored Xu Xiangyang.

Xu Guangtian knew in his heart that even if they gave her a house and a job, Zhang Xiufen wouldn't remember their kindness, so why should they give her anything?
