The old villa purchased by Xu Jianguo is located on Julu Road in Jing'an District of Huzhou City.
The previous owner of the house was a native of Longxia. He was also a celebrity in Huzhou City during the Republic of China period. It is said that he had a close relationship with a leader of the "Tong" generation in the Green Gang.
Some people may not understand what the generation name "Tong" means in the Qing Gang, so the author will explain it briefly here.
The generations of the Qing Gang are ranked in the order of "Pure Morality, Literary Buddhism, Benevolent Wisdom, Original Self-Confidence, Yuanming Prosperity, and Great Enlightenment", totaling twenty-four generations, also known as the first twenty-four generations.
The next twenty-four generations were "all things took refuge, the precepts were passed down, the hearts were converted, the people were blessed with great prosperity, the doors of all things were open, and the light was shining on the universe."
During the Republic of China period, Du Yuesheng, a well-known gangster in Huzhou City, belonged to the "Wu" generation in the Qing Gang.
From this we can see that the previous owner of the old villa purchased by Xu Jianguo must have been a prominent figure.
Moreover, when Fu Bo came to Huzhou to look for a house, he had heard from the people in the local street office that although the previous owner of this house had a close relationship with the leader of the Green Gang, he was a true patriot. Later, in order to cover up the secret fighters, he died at the hands of the skinheads.
After the establishment of the New Longxia Kingdom, the descendants of the owner of this house returned to China from Hong Kong Island. They found the street office with the title deed and other documents and donated the house to the country.
However, because the whole house had suffered bombing by small Japanese planes during the war, it had already become dilapidated and was completely uninhabitable. There were many houses like this in the entire Jing'an District, but the street office had no money to repair them, so they had been vacant.
It was precisely for this reason that this villa was not divided up and turned into a private house like the slums in Jingzhou City. It was eventually picked up by Fu Bo, who bought it for a very small amount of money and went through the procedures for repairing and rebuilding it.
The house has three floors above ground and one basement, with a large courtyard totaling over 600 square meters. It enjoys a prime location, situated in the absolute heart of Huzhou City. The old house, as seen in the online photo, is located right next to Julu Road and has a garage in the backyard, allowing cars to drive directly into the yard. This alone makes it much more convenient than the other two old houses in Jinling and Gusu.
After walking for more than ten minutes, the group arrived at the gate of the villa.
Holding Xiao Hongdou steadily in one hand, he took out the key with the other hand and opened the door, and then everyone walked in.
As soon as you enter the courtyard, the first thing that catches your eye is a pure white simple European-style building. Although the whole building looks like it has experienced a lot of history, it is not shabby. In short, it fits in very well with the city of Huzhou.
From this point, it can be seen that Xu Jianguo really put a lot of thought into repairing this villa.
When Xu Shisi received the task, he read a lot of historical documents, hoping to find out what the house looked like before, but to no avail.
As a last resort, he could only use a computer to restore the old house based on photos of the remaining ruins, and finally formed a design drawing.
After watching it, Xu Jianguo and Wen Sitian were both very satisfied, and immediately decided to rebuild it in this style.
The courtyard of the old villa is full of various flowers, plants and trees. As it is midsummer, the yard is full of flowers and lush branches and leaves, giving people a feeling of vitality.
After entering the yard, Little Red Bean struggled to get down from the ground, and then began to run wildly in the yard, with bursts of laughter coming from time to time.
Fu Bo and Du Yu were the last to enter the yard. After they closed the gate, everyone no longer had to worry about Xiao Hongdou running away, so they simply ignored her and walked into the villa.
Walking into the old house, the strong atmosphere of the times hits you.
Under your feet are colorful mosaic tiles, which form exquisite geometric patterns. Although they have been worn down by time, the colors are still bright. In the mottled light shining through the stained glass windows, they sparkle with a unique luster, showing the luxury and refinement of the past.
The walls are mainly made of wooden wall panels. The walnut wood has a deep and mellow color, and the vertical texture is natural and smooth, giving people a sense of calm and grandeur.
There are several paintings and calligraphy in the style of the Republic of China hanging on the wall, some are elegant landscapes, some are graceful calligraphy. The frames are made of exquisitely carved solid wood, and the delicate lines are outlined with gold lacquer, adding a rich cultural atmosphere.
In the center of the living room, there is a set of European-style fabric sofas. The velvet fabric is soft and textured, and the colors are mostly deep wine red or dark green, showing nobility and elegance.
The wooden frame of the sofa is carved with intricate curling grass patterns, with smooth lines and exquisite craftsmanship.
The coffee table has a thick marble top with carved solid wood legs. The carvings on the legs complement the sofa. A set of silver tea sets is placed on the table, shining with a cool light under the reflection of light.
On the ceiling above, there is a gorgeous chandelier with layers of crystal pendants. The light is bright and soft, and it sprinkles in every corner of the room.
The decoration style of the entire villa was what Xu Jianguo specifically told Xu Shisi about. His requirement was to restore the characteristics of the Republic of China period as much as possible and not to make it look weird.
After the reconstruction and renovation of the villa was completed, Xu Jianguo brought Wen Sitian to visit it. After taking a tour inside and out, the two of them were very satisfied.
What Wen Sitian likes most is the various geometric patterns made up of colorful floor tiles in the house, as well as the colorful spliced glass used for decoration.
Whenever sunlight shines through the colored glass, it is like a magical beam of light shining into the house.
The colorful lights intertwined and merged together, dreamily scattering in every corner of the room, making her feel as if she was in a colorful kaleidoscope world. It was probably this effect, but not as exaggerated as this one. The light refracted, forming strange light and shadow patterns on the walls and floor tiles.
These patterns sometimes look like blooming flowers, delicate and gorgeous; sometimes they look like flying butterflies, light and agile.
They leap and twirl across the walls and floor, creating a dazzling and overwhelming experience, and creating an indescribable feeling of joy and tranquility.
