"Hateful!" Wen Sitian was suddenly attacked, but she did not feel embarrassed as before. Instead, she let out a coquettish look and gave Xu Jianguo a cold look.
Xu Jianguo knew that this was a sign that Wen Sitian was willing to follow him wholeheartedly, and he was very happy.
"Jianguo, don't you think it's unsafe to keep so much money and gold jewelry at home?" Wen Sitian asked with some distress as she looked at the money, bills and gold jewelry on the bed.
Xu Jianguo thought about it and felt that what Wen Sitian said made sense. He didn't know how long he would be away from home this time, and it was indeed unsafe for her and Funiu to be the only ones at home.
"Is there any place to hide things at home?" Xu Jianguo asked.
"I don't know either. I used to live in the factory and rarely came back." Wen Sitian said.
Xu Jianguo nodded without saying anything. After a while, he said, "It's okay. I'll study it and find a place to hide it."
"Okay, then you take your time to think about it, I'll go cook for you!" Wen Sitian agreed with a smile, got up, took off her cashmere coat, put on her usual cotton jacket, and then went to the main room to prepare lunch.
After Wen Sitian left, Xu Jianguo stood up, opened the Eye of Time and Space, and walked around the room.
After a while, Xu Jianguo closed his eyes of time and space, raised the corners of his mouth slightly, and quickly walked to the chest of drawers in the corner. With a little force, he moved the chest of drawers away.
Xu Jianguo squatted down and knocked on the red wooden floor under the chest of drawers, and suddenly a hollow sound was heard.
He took out a dagger from the space, inserted it into the gap in the floor and lifted it up slightly. Then Xu Jianguo lifted up a 40-centimeter square wooden board made of several wooden floors.
Under the floor was a square secret compartment made of blue bricks, about fifty centimeters deep. At this moment, the compartment was empty. Xu Jianguo reached in and touched it. It was very dry, so there was no need to worry about the things hidden inside getting moldy.
Xu Jianguo got up and walked into the main room, found an empty jar in the corner, and then called in Wen Sitian who was kneading dough.
"Wife, look what I found!" Xu Jianguo said while holding the jar.
Wen Sitian followed Xu Jianguo into the house, confused. When she saw the secret compartment in the corner, her mouth dropped open. After a long pause, she said, "Is there really a secret compartment?"
"Yeah! I didn't expect that either, but there's nothing in the secret compartment."
"I think even my uncle may not know about this secret compartment. I heard that two old people used to live in this house, but they moved out for some unknown reason, and then my uncle and his family moved in." Wen Sitian said.
Xu Jianguo nodded, thinking that this secret compartment was most likely left behind when the two old men were there.
"Come, take a look at what needs to be hidden and put it in the jar. I will then put the jar in the secret compartment to prevent moisture." Xu Jianguo said.
Wen Sitian thought for a moment and said, "Put the money and jewelry in there, and leave the bills outside. They'll be used for everyday purposes."
"Don't you want to wear jewelry? Why not wear the necklace? No one can see it if you put it inside your clothes." Xu Jianguo advised.
Wen Sitian thought about it, then shook her head and said, "Let's forget about it. Put it away for now and wear it later."
"Okay, I'll listen to you!" Xu Jianguo put a thousand yuan into the jewelry box, put the box into the jar, sealed the jar, and finally put the jar into the secret compartment, covered the floor, and moved the chest of drawers back to its original place.
"Okay, are you relieved now?" Xu Jianguo stood up and asked with a smile.
"Well, don't worry!" Wen Sitian said happily.
Xu Jianguo took out ten large black notes from his pocket and put them in the closet along with the tickets. He said, "This is for household use. You don't have to save money. Just buy whatever you want to eat!"
"Jianguo, I still have money. Besides, in other families, men manage the money. Don't always give me money!" Wen Sitian said anxiously.
"Other people's families are other people's families. It doesn't matter who manages the money in our family. What's mine is yours and what's yours is mine. We are one and the same! Go and cook. I'm hungry." Xu Jianguo said, putting his hand on Wen Sitian's shoulder, then turned her around and pushed her towards the main room.
"Ah? Are you hungry? I'll go steam the buns now. Just bear with me, it will be ready in a while!" Wen Sitian said quickly when she heard Xu Jianguo say he was hungry, and then ran to steam the buns.
Looking at Wen Sitian who was busy, Xu Jianguo smiled and shook his head, then pushed open the door and walked into the yard.
As soon as he arrived in the yard, Xu Jianguo heard Funniu's cheerful laughter. Following the sound, he saw Funiu sitting on the slide. Xiao Hei was sitting behind her, raising his two front paws to push her down the slide.
Xu Jianguo smiled knowingly, thinking that this girl really knows how to order Xiao Hei around. Funiu slid down the slide and sat on the torn quilt, giggling.
Seeing Xu Jianguo coming out, Funiu hurriedly got up from the ground, and Xiaohei also slipped down. The man and the dog ran to his side. The little girl hugged his thighs, and Xiaohei circled around him, wagging his tail.
"Haha, the slide is so fun!"
Xu Jianguo wiped the sweat from her forehead and said, "You are sweating all over after playing. Go back to the house and be careful not to catch a cold. Play after dinner."
"Okay!" Funiu agreed, took Xu Jianguo's hand and walked into the house.
After returning to the house, Xu Jianguo took off the little girl's cotton jacket, wiped her hands with a towel, and then took a bowl of well water from the space and placed it on the table.
After waiting for nearly an hour, Wen Sitian hurriedly brought lunch in from the main room and said with embarrassment, "Come on, eat quickly. Are you starving?"
