Xu Jianguo came to the door and wanted to see what was happening outside, but he found that there was no transparent glass on the doors and windows, but they were covered with paper like in ancient times.
Helplessly, he could only continue to use the Eye of Time and Space to look outside. Outside the door was a yard of about forty to fifty square meters. The first impression he had was that it was dilapidated.
The houses in the courtyard were in a dilapidated state, with the paint on the walls having long since fallen off, revealing mottled bricks and stones.
The yard was paved with bluestone slabs, with some yellow fallen leaves scattered on them and some wild grass growing in the cracks, making the entire ground uneven. It was obvious that no one had taken care of it for a long time.
If calculated based on the direction of sitting north and facing south, the room where Xu Jianguo lives is located on the east side of the courtyard.
On the south side of the courtyard are two dilapidated gates with a little vermilion primer remaining on them. The hinge of one of the gates is damaged and hangs crookedly on the door frame.
On the north side is the main house. On the lintel hangs a black plaque with thick spider webs wrapped around it. On it are three large characters "Sanqing Hall".
Opposite Xu Jianguo's house, there is another house with a collapsed roof.
Xu Jianguo looked at the dilapidated Taoist temple in front of him and did not leave the house rashly because he had not yet found the old Taoist priest he saw on the map.
He took out the kettle and drank some water, then waited in the room for a while. It was getting darker, but there was still no movement in the yard.
Xu Jianguo put the kettle away, stood up from the chair, put on his backpack, gently opened the door and walked out.
"Squeak..."
The wooden door made a harsh sound. Xu Jianguo came to the yard, looked around, and then walked towards the Sanqing Temple on the right.
As we stepped into the main hall, what caught our eyes was still a dilapidated scene. Although it was called a main hall, it was actually just a little bigger than an ordinary house.
The roof of the hall had been severely damaged. Moonlight shone in through several holes, shining on the faces of the Three Pure Ones statues, making the already mottled statues appear even more cold and desolate.
The roof is supported by rotten pillars, and the carvings on it are already blurred, and one can barely see its former exquisiteness.
Like other Sanqing Temples, there is an offering table in front of the statue, with an incense burner on it. Apart from that, there is nothing else, not even a cushion.
Xu Jianguo planned to burn incense to the statue of Sanqing, so he subconsciously wanted to take out the incense and lighter from the space through his mind.
And when he looked at the object that appeared in his hand, he realized that the function of the space had been restored?
"System, system!" Xu Jianguo shouted in his mind.
[Ding, if you disturb someone's sleep, your penis will become shorter!]
"Damn! Why didn't you tell me that you were no longer disturbed?" Xu Jianguo asked unhappily.
[Ding, first, you didn't ask! Second, it's break time!]
"Fuck...are you still human? Don't you know how worried I am about you?"
[Ding, first of all, I'm not a human! Second of all, you're not worried about me at all!]
"I...you make sense!" Xu Jianguo said with some guilt.
[Tell me! What do you want from this system?]
"It's okay, I just wanted to make sure you were there!"
[Snap!]
Just as Xu Jianguo finished speaking, a purple lightning bolt as thin as an ox hair fell from the sky, passed through the hole in the roof and struck him directly on the head.
Xu Jianguo only felt his hair standing on end and his whole body numb. He fell to the ground with a thud and a puff of white smoke came out of his mouth.
"System, you have no moral principles!" Xu Jianguo complained.
[Ding, the system is morally upright! ]
“…”
The system ignored Xu Jianguo. He lay on the ground for a long time before he felt the numbness all over his body disappear. He quickly stood up from the ground.
However, just as he stood up, there was a sound of breaking through the air, and with a "bang" it hit the place where he had just fallen.
Xu Jianguo was shocked and held the black iron dagger in his hand. The Eye of Time and Space was instantly activated, and he immediately discovered an old figure hiding outside the window.
Judging from the clothes on that person, it should be the old Taoist priest that he had never found.
Xu Jianguo did not attack the old Taoist priest directly, but pretended to observe around. He wanted to see what the old Taoist priest wanted to do.
Taking a secret glance at the ground, Xu Jianguo discovered that a bamboo chopstick was nailed to the place where he had fallen before.
He thought that the old Taoist priest's kung fu must be quite strong, so he planned to use him to test his current strength.
"Swoosh" another sound of breaking through the air was heard, and Xu Jianguo instantly performed the Taiyi Youlong Zhendian, dodged the second bamboo chopstick, and rushed towards the direction of the old Taoist priest.
The old Taoist priest hiding outside the hall felt nervous when he saw that he failed to hit Xu Jianguo twice. When he found that the man was rushing towards him with a strange body movement, he retreated without any hesitation.
Xu Jianguo was very fast. He took a deep leap and kicked the rotten wooden window away. Then he took two steps forward and with the third step he was standing in front of the old Taoist priest.
Xu Jianguo stared at the old Taoist priest, and the old Taoist priest was also staring at him, and both of them saw surprise in each other's eyes.
What surprised Xu Jianguo was that although the old Taoist priest had white hair and beard and tattered clothes, he had a ruddy complexion and was full of energy and spirit. In particular, the ethereal and otherworldly temperament emanating from his whole body made him look like a man with white hair and a youthful appearance, and had the air of an immortal.
Judging from their appearance alone, the old Taoist priest in front of him was much better than Funiu's dead master Xuanyuan. Although their clothes were very shabby, the former looked like a Taoist master, while the latter looked like a refugee. What a difference...
