Chapter 121 Don’t Go

"Tell me, have Hu Jie's parents seen Yingying?" Old Lady Yin grabbed Old Lady Xia's hand, as if she had found her backbone. "I'll go ask them."

The incident had happened for some time, and no one from the Hu family showed up. The lights in the house were on, which meant there were people inside, but they didn't want to get involved.

I've known for a long time that they were cruel, but I didn't expect that they weren't worried at all when their granddaughter disappeared. This is really chilling and scary.

Old Lady Yin knocked on the door for a long time before they opened it. The first thing she asked impatiently was, "What do you want?"

"I want to ask you if you have seen Yingying?" asked Old Mrs. Yin.

Hu's mother panicked for a moment, then said in a timid tone, "I haven't seen her. Didn't you forbid us from having any contact? How could we dare to take care of her? You, a paid caregiver, are closer to her than I, her own grandmother. You don't even know where she's gone, let alone me."

Old Lady Yin: "But didn't you give her candy before? Didn't you really not see it today?"

Mother Hu felt guilty, so she shouted even louder, "What's wrong with you? You're the one who took care of the child, and now you're questioning us? You took the money and didn't do the job, and you want to put the blame on us?"

"Don't bother us, we are not close to her." After she said that, she closed the door. Old Lady Yin knocked on the door and begged them but they didn't open the door.

Old Mrs. Yin also felt that what she said was right. She was the one who took care of the child, and now that the child was missing, she was almost blaming herself.

The more she thought about it, the more worried she became that something might have happened to Hu Yingying. Extremely nervous, Old Lady Yin could not even keep her balance and passed out.

Old Mrs. Xia was also frightened. She supported the person and shouted, asking someone to help send the person to the hospital.

When Chen Xiangbei arrived at the compound, Old Mrs. Xia was not there.

I heard from others that Old Mrs. Yin fainted due to anxiety and was rushed to the hospital with her mother by her side.

Chen Xiangbei remembered what his second brother said and felt that it was time to let his mother realize that he was actually a filial child, so he hurried to the hospital.

It was in the hospital that he learned that a child from their compound was missing.

"Where have you been these past few days? I wanted to find you to do something, but you're nowhere to be found. Your dad works during the day, and he's still out looking for someone. You're the only one who doesn't do anything serious all day long."

Chen Xiangbei was scolded and felt a little aggrieved. He often didn't come home for several days before, and his mother would give him money at that time.

Now he hasn't even gotten the money, and he just went out to have fun, but he still gets scolded.

What young man doesn't want to go out and play? He doesn't work, and he can't learn anything in such a chaotic school, so he might as well go out and play.

"You have nothing to do now, go to your brother Hu Jie's factory and see if Yingying is there. If not, ask his colleagues if they can contact her."

Chen Xiangbei scratched his head and said, "Okay, I'll go right away."

He just turned around when he suddenly thought of something, "Mom, I saw Hu Jie's eldest brother sneaking around in Guishu Lane."

Old Lady Xia suddenly grabbed him and said, "We didn't see his elder brother when we went to the Hu family before."

Aunt Wang also said, "I heard from others that they haven't seen him all afternoon. That's strange. His family doesn't know anyone in the city. Usually, we only see him in the courtyard and the house. Except for going out to buy food, they basically don't leave the courtyard."

Old Lady Xia: "They probably didn't go to buy food. They always like to buy food for several days. They just bought some yesterday. I saw it in the house just now."

Aunt Wang: "Could it be that Hu Wei took the child away?"

Old Lady Xia: "You stay here and look after Donghua. I'll go back and take a look."

Chen Xiangbei was being pulled by his mother's arm as she walked away, saying, "If a fight breaks out later, you better be smart."

Chen Xiangbei was surprised: "Again?"

"They are not reasonable. They certainly won't tell the truth at the beginning."

Chen Xiangbei: "Mom, you're not very reasonable either."

Old Lady Xia patted him on the back of the head and said, "Hurry up!"

At the Hu family, Hu's father and mother were also waiting for Hu Wei to come back. Jin Ju coaxed Hu Bin to sleep in the house.

They were both excited and thrilled, not knowing how much money they could get. They probably didn't get a good price for the little girl, but even if the money was small, it didn't matter. At least the second son's things would belong to the eldest grandson from now on.

From now on, that damn girl no longer has to support her and no longer has to take advantage of the Hu family.

Mother Hu paced back and forth in the room, but instead of waiting for Hu Wei, she met the aggressive Old Lady Xia.

"Old hag, where's your eldest son? Don't tell me he's gone to find some lousy friends. How can a jerk like him find friends in the city?"

Hu's mother was suddenly trapped in the house and scolded. She was stunned for a moment, and couldn't help but rush out, "Who are you scolding? Is this how you city people bully others?"

"We're just staying home, we haven't caused any trouble, and we haven't provoked you. Why are you scolding us for no reason?"

Old Lady Xia: "If I misunderstood you today, I can bow and apologize to you later, but first you have to tell me where your son is. Did he take Yingying away?"

Hu's mother suddenly panicked. "Don't make false accusations. What evidence do you have against my son? He can't even go out for a walk. What right do you have to question me?"

Mrs. Xia: "Then tell me where he went. I will ride my bike to look for him now."

Hu’s mother: …He went to sell the child, but I can’t tell you this.

Seeing that Mother Hu was about to reveal her true colors, Father Hu also stepped out and said, "Sister, even if you are anxious, you can't throw dirty water on us. My son is an adult now. It's impossible for him to tell us everything. So we don't know where he went."

"My granddaughter is missing and we're worried. We were just talking about going out together to look for her, but my eldest grandson started crying and we had to comfort her first."

"She is also our biological grandchild. It is impossible for us not to want her to be well. Besides, she is also the only child of my second eldest son. Even if we don't like her, we can't harm her."

What Mr. Hu said was reasonable, well-founded and humane, and Chen Xiangbei's doubts were dispelled.

"Mom, it shouldn't be them. I think what he said makes sense."

Old Lady Xia glared at him and said, "You're not a child anymore. Stop believing everything others say."

Chen Xiangbei was unconvinced: "Instead of asking them here, why not go to Guishu Lane to look for them? I saw them there anyway."

Hearing this, Hu's father was also frightened. He was actually caught by this stupid boy.

Hu's mother was so panicked that she shouted, "You are not allowed to go."

Everyone immediately looked at them with suspicion, and some even came over and wanted to drag them to the police station to talk to them.
