Chapter 17 Brother-in-law

At dawn, Old Mrs. Xia waited for the second son and his wife to come back.

Last night, when Dong Chunmiao discovered that Chen Xiangnan was missing, she immediately realized that he had gone to her mother's house, so she immediately chased after him.

When she arrived, her brother was being beaten up by Chen Xiangnan. His brother's already fat body was no match for the furious Chen Xiangnan, and his body became even more swollen from the beating.

The family members were all crying and shouting. Her mother protected her two nephews and didn't let them get close. Her brother and father didn't dare to get close for fear of being affected.

"Stop hitting me, Xiangnan." Dong Chunmiao rushed over and stood in front of her brother. Chen Xiangnan grabbed her and stopped her fiercely.

The people of the Dong family were still quibbling, blaming Dong Chunmiao for the disaster and wanting her to pay compensation.

However, when Chen Xiangnan raised his fist again, they all quieted down, leaving only the two children crying and saying that their uncle was a bad guy.

Seeing Chen Xiangnan looking at the child, Dong Chunmiao's two sisters-in-law covered the child's mouth, like a frightened bird.

The man who had just been beaten spoke unclearly. He was scared at first, but when he saw Dong Chunmiao, he didn't know where he got the strength from, and kept calling her a jinx.

Dong Chunmiao felt really embarrassed after being scolded. He bent down to apologize and took money out of his pocket to give to his mother.

Chen Xiangnan is watching, so who would dare to take the money?

Dong Chunmiao was even sadder when she saw that they didn't even want the money.

Chen Xiangnan didn't know what to say when he saw his mentally ill wife. But if he didn't cut off her contact with her family this time, who knows what this man would do to Lingling when he was not at home.

"You swear that you will never give your family a penny of benefit again, and never bring anyone to help your family with anything, otherwise your Dong family will be extinct."

Dong Chunmiao opened her eyes wide. Why should she swear? This is her mother's home. How could she not help?

She didn't say anything, so Chen Xiangnan raised his fist and grabbed her second brother and started beating him.

"Stop hitting me, stop hitting me."

"Dong Chunmiao, you evil person, take your man and get out of here!"

"Dad~woooo."

Dong Chunmiao tried to stop him but was kicked away by Chen Xiangnan.

Her mother cried, "Swear, if you don't swear, your son-in-law will beat your second brother to death, my second brother~"

Dong Chunmiao cried pitifully, but she still insisted not to say anything. If she said this, she would be breaking off the relationship with her parents' family. How could she do this?

It was not until a bloody tooth of her second brother flew out and landed in front of her that she finally swore with tears in her eyes.

Chen Xiangnan stopped, a few drops of blood appeared on his face, and his hands were swollen and broken.

Dong Chunmiao didn't even look at him, she threw herself on her second brother and kept shouting sorry.

Her second brother, who had never suffered any hardship since childhood, was beaten like this. Chen Xiangnan is not a human being.

When her mother saw Chen Xiangnan walking out, she breathed a sigh of relief and immediately stood up and pushed Dong Chunmiao away. "Get out of here, and don't come to our house anymore. Do you want our family to be extinct?"

Dong Chunmiao felt bitter. She had made the oath for her second brother, but the oath was too cruel. What would she do in the future? She was no longer a woman without a mother's family, and she had no place to seek justice if she was bullied.

She was driven out of the house by her closest relatives, and she dared not go back, for fear that her oath would leave her two brothers and nephews without a son to see them off in their later years.

On that summer night, her heart felt as if it had sunk into an ice cellar, and she rushed to the hospital in a daze.

"You're back?" Old Mrs. Xia was handing medicine to her granddaughter. "The doctor said you'll be discharged soon. Go home and take good care of yourself."

"Mom, you've worked hard."

Chen Xiangnan entered the ward and picked up the child. "Does it still hurt?"

Chen Lingling shook her head: "It doesn't hurt now."

Several people walked out of the hospital.

Dong Chunmiao was silent at first, but just as he stepped out of the hospital, he suddenly rushed over, grabbed Chen Lingling, put her on the ground, and cursed at her.

It was all her fault. If it weren't for her, she wouldn't be unable to return to her parents' home, and her two brothers wouldn't have been injured. Chen Lingling just hit her head on a rock, she wasn't dead.

Even if she died, she deserved it.

Dong Chunmiao looked at her daughter not as if she were her own child, but as if she were the murderer of her father.

Poor her brothers, they had to spend money to go to the hospital. This money-loser was able to lie in the hospital peacefully for the whole night, why?

Ever since Old Lady Xia beat up the eldest brother and his wife and that old man at home, she felt like she had discovered a new world. Not only did she no longer feel aggrieved, she even felt very refreshed.

She used to be afraid of conflicts at home, so she compromised and endured it all her life. But now she realized that even if she had a direct conflict with her family, it would be fine. At most, they would just give her a bad face.

It's okay if they don't treat her well. Even if she endures it, no one in her family will treat her well. Instead, they will often criticize her for not doing well.

Why didn't she beat someone up sooner in her past life? It was that damn old man who kept whispering to her that a harmonious family brings prosperity, ruining her life.

If you ask her, the worst person in this family is this old man.

Therefore, Old Mrs. Xia's mood during this day and night was very complicated and novel. She felt that she seemed to be a little different.

This time, she witnessed her second son's wife beating her granddaughter in front of her so openly and calling her a money-loser. Old Mrs. Xia felt a little itchy last night.

It’s just that I just beat up three people yesterday, and I was tired both mentally and physically. I was also worried about my eldest granddaughter’s health, so I didn’t have time to take care of her for a while.

Now she is still trying to be violent, and Old Mrs. Xia can't keep calm. It seems that even the second daughter-in-law who has always been honest doesn't take her seriously.
