Chapter 34 is back

"Hey, Yue'e, did you bring your Xiang Hong back?"

"How did Sister Xiang Hong become so thin? Going to the countryside is too scary."

"Aunt Xia, are you bringing Sister Xiang Hong back to stay for a few days, or will she stay here forever?"

"Look at you three, you're all so dusty and dirty. Have you had a rough few days?"

"How can life be easy on a train?"

"Xiang Hong, your mother really loves you."

"You brought back so many things, I'm afraid there must be a lot of good stuff, right?"

Old Mrs. Xia smiled and greeted her old neighbors while holding Chen Xianghong's hand. She was worried that the child would not be able to adapt after not being back for so many years.

"Go away, this train is definitely not for people. We'll come back to see you after we've rested." She closed the door and sat down on the stool. She wanted to drink some water, but there was no hot water at home.

The whole family is so lazy that they don’t even boil water when she is not around.

Old Lady Xia said that it was important to be particular about water. Nowadays, people don't care what kind of water they drink, and they can drink raw water. But Old Lady Xia couldn't do that. She didn't drink it herself, and she didn't let anyone in her family drink it either. This was because when she was a child, she had seen people die from diarrhea after drinking raw water.

That scene was the shadow of Old Lady Xia.

She stood up and went into the kitchen to boil some water. Chen Xianghong put down her things, letting her mother rest, and then she went to work. The layout of the house hadn't changed, only a few more things for the children. Chen Xianghong began to work with familiarity, her back revealing a deft and efficient manner.

Girls still feel sorry for their mothers. Old Mrs. Xia glanced at Chen Xiangnan with disdain. Chen Xiangnan was so tired that he closed his eyes. He looked like he was about to die.

"Mom, second brother, drink some water." Chen Xianghong brought the water and put it on the table.

Chen Xiangnan struggled to stand up, picked up the bowl, and blew on it. "Finally, we're home."

Old Mrs. Xia planned to wait until the water cooled down before drinking it. "Mom went to clean up your room. I was in a hurry when I came to find you, so I didn't have time to clean it up for you."

Chen Xiangnan looked in the direction his mother went and said, "Mom, you're not planning to clean up the place next to my eldest brother and his wife's room where they keep all the junk, are you?"

Old Lady Xia said angrily, "Xiang Hong's original room was given to you and your wife. Where else could it be but over there? Do you want you to vacate the room?"

Chen Xiangnan: "That won't do."

Old Lady Xia: "Then what are you talking about?"

Chen Xiangnan: "If you keep doing this, there will be a commotion when big brother and sister-in-law come back. They originally planned to give that room to Baoyuan. When Baoyuan grows up, he can clean up and live alone, and they can give Baoyuan a brother or sister."

Old Lady Xia: "If they really come to tell me, just wait and see how I deal with them."

Chen Xiangnan stopped talking, took a cold shower, and went into the room to sleep.

Old Mrs. Xia and Chen Xianghong were cleaning the house together, and she told her in detail about the salesperson's job. Chen Xianghong wanted to take notes.

In the evening, the two finally finished their work together and cleaned the house. These days, with Old Lady Xia away, the people at home seemed to have no hands, and no one did the housework.

Not only was the basin full of clothes, but the kitchen was also a mess.

"Thank you for your hard work, Xianghong. Mom will go to cook. You should take a shower and have a rest. I will call you when the meal is ready." Old Mrs. Xia pointed to the hot water and urged her to go quickly.

"Mom, let me cook. I'm young, so it's no big deal. You must be exhausted these days. You wash first." Chen Xianghong was reluctant to go. She found that Old Mrs. Xia looked exhausted.

"It's a good thing you're back. None of your brothers and sisters-in-law are useful. All they do is coax money from me and wait for me to do the laundry and cook for them. All of them are not as good as you. You should have listened to me just now and not only washed your father's clothes, but also let you wash other people's clothes. They have become landlords." As soon as Old Lady Xia finished speaking, the door was kicked open.

When they turned around, they found Chen Xiangdong and Zhu Wenying standing outside the door angrily.

Zhu Wenying only remembers food and not punishment. When she heard Old Lady Xia stepping on them to praise Chen Xianghong just outside the door, she was already furious. After opening the door, she immediately said sarcastically, "Little sister, don't blame me for loving you. I used my Zhu family's things to bring you back from afar. A daughter will always feel sorry for me. Even if we have been with you for so many years, we can't compare to that."

"Mom, didn't you say you were going to take a look? Why did you bring her back? What for? Isn't she getting married soon?" Chen Xiangdong was also angry. Didn't his mother just say that they were unfilial?

Old Lady Xia: "It's none of your business."

Chen Xiangdong: "Mom, this is our home. A daughter who is married off is like spilled water. How can she stay at home? Why can't we control her?"

Old Lady Xia: "Now you're telling me about spilled water? Why didn't you tell me when your daughter-in-law gave money to your father-in-law's family? Do they, the Zhu family, spilled water and then returned it with money?"

Zhu Wenying also knew that she had taken a lot of money back to her parents' home, but that was her parents' home. If her family needed money, would she just stand by and watch?

"My situation is different from hers. I'm not living with my parents. When will she leave?" Zhu Wenying asked. She hoped she would leave quickly to avoid scamming Old Lady Xia out of her money. Every penny she spent was a penny less for her family. She knew the math perfectly.

Chen Xianghong didn't know how to start the conversation. Her elder brother and sister-in-law didn't seem to want her to stay permanently. However, her mother had promised her that she would never go back.

"Or..." Chen Xianghong wanted to say that she would move out once she found a way to make money and it wouldn't affect them, but Old Lady Xia interrupted her.

"If you don't leave, just live at home. An unmarried daughter should live at home."
