Chapter 358 Big Thunder

Father Qiu was cooking in the kitchen with a sarcastic tone, and there was no one around to help him wash or cut the vegetables.

Jiang's mother sat outside, feeling worse than if she had been beaten.

"Mom, are you...sick?"

"It must be Mom's hand that's injured."

"Is Wenhua treating you badly?"

Several children outside began to speculate. This was really strange. They could actually see Father Qiu cooking for Jiang's mother while she was sitting peacefully in her lifetime.

Jiang's mother was on pins and needles. "No, no."

"Then why doesn't mom cook?"

Mother Jiang really didn't know how to answer. She wanted to cook, too. She really wanted to cook. She felt that not cooking while she was at home was a sin worthy of death. But Jiang Wenhua's words were like a knife hanging over her head. Angered by the children's questions, she blurted out, "Why should I cook? Wenhua gives your father money. It's more than enough to support me and to honor your father."

Upon hearing this, Father Qiu rushed out from the kitchen, dishes in hand. "Jiang Qiu, what do you mean? Are you planning to become our ancestor and have me serve you?"

Mother Jiang stood up timidly, glanced at Qiu's eldest son with guilt, and then cursed in a low voice, "Old Qiu, I'm not."

Father Qiu stuffed the food directly into her hands and said, "Then go cook for me."

Jiang's mother shook her head and handed the dish back to him, "No."

Father Qiu: "You don't cook or work, so why did you come back? You just said that brat Jiang Wenhua gave me money, right?"

Mother Jiang nodded.

Father Qiu rushed into the house, took the money and threw it to Mother Jiang, "I don't want his dirty money, take it back to me."

Jiang's mother squatted down and picked up the money, then said, "Even if you don't want the money, I'm your wife, and you have to support me."

Father Qiu was furious: "What do you mean, I'm supporting you for nothing?"

Although Jiang's mother was timid, her words were not timid at all. She recalled Jiang Wenhua's words and said, "We'll each do half of the housework. If you do it today, I'll do it tomorrow. If you buy groceries today, I'll use Wenhua's money to buy groceries tomorrow. If you wash the dishes today, I'll wash them tomorrow...something like that."

Father Qiu: "This is outrageous! Why should I marry you if you are like this?"

Jiang's mother looked at him and asked, "Then you want to divorce me? At our age, we want to divorce?"

Father Qiu felt as if his life was being controlled by his second wife, with whom he had lived for more than ten years. How could a traditional man like him divorce her? Even if he died, he would never divorce her. "You...you..."

Jiang's mother was afraid that he would get hurt from anger, so she immediately coaxed him, "Don't be angry. But if you get sick from anger, I will take care of you. I can do the work for those few days. Well... not at other times."

Father Qiu held onto the wall and shouted, "Where's that little bastard Jiang Wenhua?"

Jiang's mother stepped forward and touched his chest. "He's at home. If you want to beat him up, fine. Just go by yourself. I won't go."

Jiang's mother's tone was very soft, but what she said was really unbearable for Qiu's father. Even the Qiu children who were waiting for lunch were a little at a loss when they saw this scene, and finally said goodbye and left together.

After the children left, Father Qiu grabbed Mother Jiang and started to quarrel with her.

But it was completely useless. Jiang's mother just stood there, not arguing with him at all. Father Qiu had no way of changing Jiang's mother's mind. Even if he scolded her, the final result was still Jiang's mother's decision. Household matters were to be shared equally, and if the family needed to pay, she would use Jiang Wenhua's money to pay.

Father Qiu felt very helpless.

No one noticed that there was an old lady acting suspiciously outside their house. If Jiang's mother saw her, she would definitely recognize her as Old Lady Xia.

Today is a day off. After listening to Jiang Wenhua's words yesterday, Old Lady Xia wanted to see if Jiang Wenhua's method was useful. If it was useful, she might be able to use it to persuade others in the future. Now it seems that it is a really good method. She made another note in her notebook.

Then she quietly left again and prepared to go to Qiu Rong's home.

Chen Xiangnan was awakened by Tang's father's shouting early in the morning, and was kicked out by his second brother with dark circles under his eyes. Although he was later pulled back by the Tang family and had a good meal, Chen Xiangbei still had resentment towards his second brother.

"I won't help you check things next time." Chen Xiangbei squatted outside the Tang family's door and said in a low voice, "Except for my second sister-in-law's family."

Chen Xiangnan also squatted beside him: "Oh, you are helping me check, doesn't our dad's second marriage also affect you?"

Chen Xiangbei: "It's a second marriage, so what? The worst that can happen is that the woman won't be able to divorce even if she wants to."

Chen Xiangnan: "Why, did you come up with any good ideas?"

Chen Xiangbei: "Don't look at me like that. You still want to look down on me. I'm much more powerful than you now, you gigolo."

Chen Xiangnan slapped him on the back of the head. After the two brothers quarreled for a while, Chen Xiangbei said, "I know all the matchmakers around here. Lend me some money and I'll make sure that none of the three sons of that old woman can find a wife."

Chen Xiangnan: "You have a really good idea. That woman will take money out of my father's pocket and use the high bride price to marry him."

Chen Xiangbei's face turned pale. Considering how stupid his father was, this was not impossible.

"Let's go find big brother first." Chen Xiangnan looked into the distance, feeling that he hadn't had many happy things since his mother left. "Your sister-in-law has to be on duty today. I'll take her to work and then go. Will you come with me?"

Chen Xiangbei: "Okay, you're my brother, I have no choice but to listen to you."

Not long after, the two brothers appeared at Chen Xiangdong's door.

Chen Xiangdong was playing with his son at the door at the moment. He was suddenly covered by two shadows and felt very bad.

Turning around, he saw that it was indeed the two brothers, with whom he had almost lost all feelings for each other, standing behind him with expressionless faces, like two debt collectors.

He stood up and asked, "What are you two doing?"

Baoyuan held a few marbles in his hand and whispered, "Second Uncle, Little Uncle, Okay!"

Chen Xiangnan smiled and gave him two marbles, which he had taken out from Chen Xiangbei's pocket.

Chen Xiangbei rolled his eyes, ruffled Baoyuan's hair into a mess, and after making the child cry, he sent him into the house to his sister-in-law, who almost scolded him to death.

Chen Xiangdong stood up and said, "Why are you two here? You are a rare guest."

Chen Xiangnan pushed him, then moved a stool inside and took out a bowl to pour water for himself and Chen Xiangbei. Anyway, considering that his elder brother and sister-in-law didn't know how to deal with people, if he didn't pour water for himself today, he probably wouldn't be able to drink it.

"Our father has a second spring." Chen Xiangnan blew away the hot steam coming out of the hot water and slowly threw a big thunder to Chen Xiangdong.
