Chapter 117 The Third Sister's Conspiracy

Chapter 117 The Third Sister's Conspiracy

Xu Yao's heart felt as if it was being tightly grasped by an invisible hand. The voice of the third sister was even more creepy than a weasel paying New Year's greetings to a chicken.

She took a deep breath, trying to calm her heartbeat, and replied coldly to the phone: "If you have something to fart, fart now, don't be sarcastic, or you'll get a sore tongue!"

After saying that, without waiting for the third sister to reply, she hung up the phone with a "click".

"Bah, you're crazy!" Xu Yao spat into the microphone, still feeling upset.

She rubbed her temples hard, trying to calm herself down.

This third sister had caused chaos in her family in her previous life, and it seems that she is still harboring evil intentions in this life!

"Yaoyao, what's wrong? Whose call is it?" The auntie at the next table came over curiously and asked.

Xu Yao forced a smile and said, "It's okay, a psychopath made the wrong call."

"Oh, that's good." The aunt didn't ask any more questions and turned around to go back to play with her fellow card players.

Xu Yao knew in her heart that this matter was definitely not that simple.

She had to be extremely alert and be on guard against her third sister.

After all, it's easy to dodge an attack but hard to guard against an arrow from the dark!

In the next few days, Xu Yao pretended as if nothing had happened and continued to do what she was doing, but secretly, she had already begun her own "counter-reconnaissance" operation.

She first found a few well-informed aunts in the village and asked them indirectly about her third sister's whereabouts.

"Oh, auntie, what has my third sister been busy with recently? I haven't seen her for several days." Xu Yao asked with a smile while handing cigarettes to the aunties.

"She's been very busy lately! She goes to your ex-husband's house every day, and I don't know what she is discussing." An old lady said mysteriously.

Xu Yao's heart skipped a beat. Just as she expected, these two people must have gotten together to cause trouble again.

She continued to ask, "So what did they say? Did you hear it, Auntie?"

The aunt shook her head: "Then I don't know. They are very careful. They always talk behind closed doors, so no one can hear them."

Xu Yao became more alert.

It seems that the conspiracy between her third sister and her ex-husband this time is more complicated than she imagined.

She found a few children in the village, gave them some candy, and asked them to help pay attention to the actions of her third sister and her ex-husband.

"Xiaobao, Xiaohua, please do me a favor and tell me if you see that Third Grandma and that Uncle together, okay? I'll buy you something delicious."

When the children heard that there was something delicious to eat, they immediately patted their chests and agreed.

In addition to inquiring for information, Xu Yao also specially found her daughter Weiwei and had a heart-to-heart talk with her.

"Weiwei, Mom knows that you are grown up now and have your own ideas. However, you must carefully distinguish what some people say and don't believe them easily." Xu Yao held her daughter's hand and said softly.

Weiwei curled her lips impatiently: "I know, Mom, you've said it eight hundred times."

Xu Yao knew that her daughter was still somewhat resistant, but she still patiently said, "Weiwei, Mom is afraid that you will suffer. That Third Grandma is not a good person. You must stay away from her."

Weiwei rolled her eyes: "What can she do to me? I'm not a fool."

Xu Yao sighed, knowing that her daughter would not be able to fully understand her painstaking efforts for a while.

She could only try her best to remind her daughter, hoping that she would suffer less harm.

A few days later, Xu Yao finally got an important news.

"Yaoyao, something bad has happened! I saw my third sister and your ex-husband. They bought a lot of things and said they were going to wait for your daughter at the school gate!" An aunt who was helping her keep an eye on the situation hurried over to tell her.

When Xu Yao heard this, she was immediately furious.

Well, this third sister is still harboring evil intentions and has even set her sights on her daughter!

She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down.

"Aunt, thank you for telling me." Xu Yao said gratefully, "I know what to do now."

She immediately found Xue Han and told him the whole story.

After hearing this, Xue Han was so angry that his face turned blue: "This group of people is so abominable! Yaoyao, whatever you say, I will listen to you."

Xu Yao pondered for a moment and said, "Xue Han, we can't let them succeed. Tomorrow morning, we will go to the school gate and wait to see what they want to do."

"Okay, it's settled!" Xue Han agreed without hesitation.

Early the next morning, Xu Yao and Xue Han arrived at the school gate.

They found an inconspicuous corner and waited quietly.

As time passed, the sun rose higher and the air became sultry.

Xu Yao's heart was becoming more and more nervous.

She kept praying in her heart, hoping that her daughter would not be harmed in any way.

Suddenly, she saw a familiar figure appear at the school gate.

It’s the third sister!

She was wearing a bright floral shirt, holding a large gift bag, and had a fake smile on her face.

There was another person following behind the third sister.

That person was Xu Yao’s ex-husband!

He lowered his head, holding a gift bag in his hand, and looked a little guilty.

Xu Yao's heart sank to the bottom in an instant. She clenched her fists and her eyes were filled with anger.

"Xue Han, they are here!" Xu Yao said in a low voice, with a slight tremor in her voice.

Xue Han nodded, his eyes full of vigilance.

He held Xu Yao's hand tightly, giving her strength.

The third sister and her ex-husband slowly approached the school gate, their eyes looking around as if looking for something.

"See it? Vivi is right there!" The third sister suddenly pointed in a direction and said excitedly.

Xu Yao followed her third sister's gaze and saw her daughter Weiwei standing at the school gate, chatting and laughing with some classmates.

The third sister and her ex-husband looked at each other and a sinister smile appeared on their faces.

They quickened their pace and walked towards Weiwei.

"Vivi! Vivi!" The third sister shouted Vivi's name loudly, her voice full of false affection.

Weiwei heard someone calling her, turned around, and saw her third sister and ex-husband.

An expression of disgust immediately appeared on her face.

"What are you doing here?" Weiwei asked coldly, her tone full of hostility.

The third sister seemed not to have heard Weiwei's indifference, and still said with a smile: "Weiwei, we brought you a gift, come and see!"

As she spoke, the third sister handed the gift bag in her hand to Weiwei.

Weiwei looked at the gift bag in front of her but did not reach out to take it.

Her eyes were full of suspicion and vigilance.

"What's in it?" Weiwei asked.

"They are delicious and fun things." The third sister said with a smile, "They are all things you like."

Weiwei still didn't move. She stared into the third sister's eyes, as if trying to see through her heart.

"I don't need your gifts." Weiwei said coldly, "Just go away!"

The third sister’s smile froze on her face. She hadn't expected that Weiwei would resist her so much.

"Weiwei, how can you say that?" The third sister pretended to be aggrieved, "We really want to be good to you!"

"I'm nice to you guys?" Weiwei sneered, "You're nice to me just to make me quarrel with my mom and make me hate her?"

The third sister's face turned ugly in an instant.

She didn't expect that Weiwei would speak so bluntly.

"Weiwei, listen to me, things are not what you think..." The third sister tried to explain, but Weiwei didn't give her a chance.

"I don't want to hear anything you say!" Weiwei interrupted the third sister, "Go away, I don't want to see you again!"

After saying that, Weiwei turned around and left without looking back.

The third sister and her ex-husband stood there, their faces turning pale and blue.

They didn't expect that their plan would fail so completely.

Just then, Xu Yao and Xue Han came out from the corner, both with a sneer on their faces.

"Third sister, it seems your plan has failed." Xu Yao walked up to the third sister and said contemptuously.

The third sister's expression became even uglier.

She glared at Xu Yao fiercely, her eyes full of resentment.

"Xu Yao, what are you so proud of? Let me tell you, it's not over yet!" The third sister said gritting her teeth.

Xu Yao shrugged and said nonchalantly, "Really? Then I'll wait."

The third sister snorted coldly and turned away.

Her ex-husband also followed her silently, not daring to say a word.

Xu Yao watched her third sister's departing back, but she did not let her guard down.

She knew that this was just the beginning and her third sister would definitely not give up.

She turned her head and looked at Xue Han, her eyes full of determination.

"Xue Han, it seems that we have to prepare for a long battle." Xu Yao said.

Xue Han nodded, held Xu Yao's hand tightly, and said firmly: "Don't worry, Yaoyao, no matter what happens, I will be with you."

At this moment, in the shadows not far away, a pair of eyes were staring at Xu Yao and Xue Han.

Those eyes were filled with anger and jealousy.

"Just wait, Xu Yao, I won't let you have it easy!" A cold voice rang out in the air, and then disappeared...

Xu Yao and Xue Han were like two door gods, standing in an inconspicuous corner at the school gate. Their eyes were as sharp as hawks, firmly locking onto every movement at the school gate.

This is not just ordinary surveillance, this is called a strategic ambush!

The sun was scorching the earth, and the air was filled with a burnt smell from the rolling heat waves.

Xue Han moved towards Xu Yao calmly, using his tall body to block some of the scorching sun for her.

Xu Yao felt warm in her heart and quietly held Xue Han's hand.

Suddenly, Xu Yao's eyes became stern, and she whispered, "Here it comes!"

I saw my third sister, dressed up beautifully, like a walking Christmas tree, twisting her slender waist and swaying as she appeared at the school gate.

She was holding a big gift bag in her hand and the smile on her face was uglier than crying.

The person following behind her was Xu Yao's ex-husband. He looked like a coward, as wilted as an eggplant hit by frost.

"The show is about to begin!" Xu Yao sneered and walked out with Xue Han in her arms.

"Hey, isn't this Third Sister? What brings you here?" Xu Yao spoke in a sarcastic tone, her tone sour, like aged vinegar.

The smile on the third sister's face froze instantly, as if it was covered with a layer of flour, looking so fake.

"Yaoyao, let's go see Weiwei and bring her some gifts."

"Don't think you can seduce my daughter by giving her a few gifts," Xu Yao interrupted her unceremoniously, "She has seen through your true colors now, so just give up on this idea!"

The third sister's face turned red and white, changing unpredictably like a color palette.

She was so angry that she pointed at Xu Yao's nose and cursed: "Humph, don't be so complacent, this is just the beginning!"

Xu Yao sneered, her eyes full of disdain, "Really? I'll wait and see what tricks you can come up with! I've seen your little tricks many times, they can only fool a three-year-old child."

Xue Han stood aside, like a towering mountain, emitting a cold aura. He didn't say a word, but his power was more intimidating than a thousand words.

His hawk-like eyes stared at his third sister and ex-husband, as if warning them: If they dare to touch Xu Yao, they will be in great trouble!

The third sister felt frightened by Xue Han's eyes and couldn't help shivering.

She knew that she would not get any benefit today and could only leave in shame.

Looking at the two people's fleeing backs, Xu Yao did not feel relieved, but even heavier.

The third sister's words "This is just the beginning" pierced her heart like a thorn, making her feel vaguely uneasy.

"Xue Han," Xu Yao's voice was a little low, "I always feel that things are not that simple. Third sister will definitely not let it go."

Xue Han gently hugged Xu Yao's shoulders and comforted her: "Don't worry, Yaoyao, we can handle whatever tricks she plays."

Xu Yao nodded, but her heart still couldn't calm down.

She knew that the battle had just begun and the road ahead was long and full of unknown challenges.

In the evening, as the sun sets, the sky is dyed a fiery red.

Xu Yao stood in front of the window, looking at the gradually dimming scenery outside, with a myriad of thoughts in her mind. Suddenly, a rapid knock on the door broke the silence.

Xu Yao opened the door and saw a panting young man standing at the door.

"Sister Xu Yao, something bad has happened..." the young man said breathlessly.

Xu Yao's heart skipped a beat, and a bad premonition came to her mind.

"Tell me slowly, what's wrong?"

"You...your shop..." the young man pointed to the distance, his voice trembling, "It's on fire!"
