Chapter 87 Are you scared?
"Hmph, Xu Yao, do you think you can really continue to be so happy?" The third sister stood under the shade of a tree, her eyes as if filled with poison, staring in the direction of Xu Yao's shop.
She held the photo in her hand, the flames of jealousy almost burning her to ashes.
Why?
Why does Xu Yao have all this? A happy love, a thriving business, but she can only hide in a dark corner, like a rat that cannot stand the light!
"You can never have what I can't have!" The third sister tore the photo into pieces viciously, thinking in her mind how to make things difficult for Xu Yao.
She is not a good person. She suffered so much in her previous life and finally turned things around in this life. No one can stand in her way.
She soon came up with a "brilliant" idea - to hire a few thugs to cause trouble.
As the saying goes, a random punch can kill a master. As long as we mess up Xu Yao's business, let's see how she can still show off!
The third sister found a few idle hooligans and stuffed them with a wad of money, "Go, take good care of Xu Yao's shop for me, let her know why the flowers are so red!"
When the gangsters got the money, they immediately understood what she meant and walked towards Xu Yao's shop eager to get started.
These little hooligans were used to bullying the people in the village and didn't take Xu Yao seriously at all.
As soon as they entered the store, they started to find fault deliberately, complaining that things were too expensive, then complaining that they were not good enough. They were simply nitpicking.
"Madam boss, why are you selling this thing so expensive? Do you want to rip us off because we're from outside?" A gangster said nonchalantly, holding an exquisite porcelain doll in his hand and pretending to drop it.
Xu Yao suppressed his anger and patiently explained: "Comrade, all these things of mine are purchased through formal channels, the prices are fair, and I will not cheat anyone."
"Fair? I think you are crazy about money!" Another gangster swept the goods on the shelf to the ground. The crackling sound made Xu Yao's heart tremble.
"What are you doing?" Xu Yao turned pale with anger.
"What for? Of course, we're here to teach you how to do business!" The hooligans laughed arrogantly, and the store was in a mess.
At this time, Aunt Wang heard the noise and hurried over to help.
When she saw this situation, she immediately understood what was going on.
"You little bastards are causing trouble in the village again! Get out of here right now!" Aunt Wang put her hands on her hips and scolded the hooligans. Her momentum was even more powerful than that of a shrew scolding in the street.
The hooligans were frightened by Aunt Wang's aura, but they still said stubbornly: "We spent money to buy things, why is there trouble? It's the boss lady's bad service attitude!"
"Bullshit! Everyone in our village knows who Xu Yao is. Stop talking nonsense here!" Aunt Wang is not someone to be trifled with. She rolled up her sleeves and looked like she was ready to fight them.
Just then, a tall figure appeared at the door. Xue Han, he is here.
He saw Xu Yao surrounded by gangsters at a glance, and his face instantly darkened.
"What are you doing?" Xue Han's voice was cold, with a hint of danger.
When the gangsters saw Xue Han, they couldn't help but shudder.
Xue Han's military uniform and the powerful aura he exuded made them feel afraid instinctively.
“We…we’re just here to buy something…” a gangster stammered, his voice becoming smaller and smaller.
Xue Han walked to Xu Yao, protecting her behind him, staring at the gangsters with cold eyes, "I'll say it again, what are you doing?"
The gangsters were intimidated by Xue Han's aura. They looked at each other and no one dared to say a word.
The murderous aura on Xue Han was no joke; it was the result of real fighting on the battlefield. In front of him, these little thugs were as timid as mice seeing a cat.
"Get out!" Xue Han spat out a word coldly. His voice was not loud, but it carried unquestionable majesty.
The little hooligans acted as if they had been pardoned. They ran away in shame, with their tails between their legs, faster than rabbits, for fear that Xue Han would change his mind and deal with them.
The store finally became quiet, with only Xue Han and Xu Yao left, as well as Aunt Wang and Xiaofang who were helping to clean up.
There were some goods scattered on the ground, as well as some broken porcelain pieces, and the air was filled with an awkward atmosphere that followed the tension.
Xue Han turned around and his eyes fell on Xu Yao. The coldness in his expression just now disappeared in an instant, replaced by full tenderness and concern.
"Yaoyao, are you okay?" He gently held Xu Yao's hand, his voice low and magnetic, like the melody of a cello, stirring Xu Yao's heartstrings.
Xu Yao's hands were wrapped in Xue Han's big hands, warm and powerful. She felt an electric current spreading from her fingertips throughout her body, and her cheeks couldn't help but turn slightly red.
"I'm fine." Xu Yao said in a low voice, her eyes somewhat evasive, not daring to look directly into Xue Han's deep gaze.
She could feel Xue Han's concern for her. This feeling of being cared for made her feel warm inside, like a cup of hot milk tea in winter, sweet to the heart.
"Are you scared?" Xue Han asked gently, stroking the back of Xu Yao's hand with his thumb, as if to soothe her frightened heart.
"No...no." Xu Yao said no, but her heartbeat was getting faster and faster, beating like a snare drum.
She felt her face getting hotter and hotter, as if it was about to burn.
Xue Han looked at Xu Yao's shy appearance, the corners of his mouth slightly raised, revealing a doting smile.
He reached out his hand and gently lifted the strands of hair by Xu Yao's ear, his movements as gentle as if he was treating a precious piece of porcelain.
"If you encounter this kind of thing again, just call me and I will handle it." Xue Han's voice was low and firm, as if he was whispering in Xu Yao's ear, or as if he was making a promise, giving her a full sense of security.
Xu Yao's heart trembled suddenly. She raised her head and looked at Xue Han's angular face.
Aunt Wang and Xiaofang watched this scene from the side, both with aunt-like smiles on their faces.
They all knew that Xue Han's feelings for Xu Yao were like the sun in winter, warm and bright.
"Okay, okay, stop being so affectionate with each other and clean up quickly." Aunt Wang said with a smile, breaking the ambiguous atmosphere between the two.
Only then did Xu Yao realize that the actions between her and Xue Han were a little too intimate. She quickly pulled her hand back, lowered her head, and pretended to tidy up the goods on the ground to cover up her embarrassment.
Xue Han looked at Xu Yao's shy expression and the smile on his face became even more intense.
He bent down and helped Xu Yao clean up the things on the ground. The atmosphere between them was warm and sweet.
Although the gangster was driven away, Xu Yao knew that it must be the work of her third sister.
She was worried that her third sister would take further action and didn't know what kind of trouble she would face next.
As night fell, Xu Yao lay in bed, but couldn't fall asleep.
She tossed and turned, her mind full of her third sister's sinister face.
Suddenly, a knock on the door broke the silence of the night.
Xu Yao got up and opened the door, and saw that the person standing outside was... Xiaofang, holding a letter in her hand.
"Sister Yao, someone asked me to give this to you." Xiaofang looked flustered and handed the letter to Xu Yao.
Xu Yao took the letter, opened it, and her face turned pale instantly. There was only one sentence in the letter:
“The fun has just begun.”
