Chapter 7: Looting the Xu Family
Xu Lin's first punch hit Xu's mother's vocal cords, preventing her from making a scream that would disturb her ears.
The second punch hit Xu's mother's steamed bun, and the pain caused her pupils to shrink and then dilate, as if she was about to ascend to heaven.
The third and fourth punches followed immediately. Xu Lin threw twenty-eight punches in one breath, making Xu's mother roll on the ground. Only then did he stop.
Xu Lin stood up and kicked Xu's mother, saying coldly: "I want to eat braised pork, go and cook."
Xu’s mother: …You can beat me to death!
Mother Xu, curled up in pain, dared not groan, and could only watch with hatred as Xu Lin entered the main hall.
Mother Xu felt heartbroken when she thought that neither the man in the main room nor her mother-in-law came out to help her.
Those two cowards actually watched her get beaten. They are such bastards.
Wiping away tears, Xu's mother got up from the ground, breathing in the cool air, and limped into the kitchen.
He stood there for a while, then hurried to the cabinet to look for the meat.
I don’t know if the little bastard has a dog’s nose, how he knew that my family bought pork belly.
Xu Lin entered the main room and found that Old Mrs. Xu and Father Xu had gone back to their rooms. Their doors were closed tightly, leaving no gaps.
Ha, Xu Lin rolled her eyes. She really didn't expect these guys would be scared after a beating. Xu Lin actually hoped that they could provoke her a few more times.
Tsk, so boring.
Xu Lin returned to Xu Nuan's room and began to look around.
Xu Nuan's room was normal, there were no holes in the walls and no secret rooms underground.
There were no compartments between the cabinet and the table, and Xu Nuan's pocket money totaled just over eight yuan.
Xu Lin put it into her own space without hesitation. Eight yuan is still a lot of money. She had never saved more than eight yuan in her previous life until her death.
Throwing herself on the bed, Xu Lin thought about the conversation between the three people that she had heard while standing in the yard.
The old woman said she wanted some medicine. What medicine did she want?
In her previous life, she had weak fighting ability, so when Xu's father came home from get off work, he just broke her legs with a stick and didn't even bother to get any medicine.
After lunch, some went to school, some went to work, and Grandma Xu also went out on her bound feet.
When Xu Lin was the only one left at home, she began to act.
The Xu family's house has three main rooms. The middle one is the main room, and the east and west bedrooms are on the left and right of the main room, where Mrs. Xu and Mr. and Mrs. Xu sleep respectively.
There are two rooms in the east wing where brother and sister Xu Kun and Xu Nuan sleep.
A kitchen and a utility room were built against the west wall, and the four bedrooms were divided among the four masters of the Xu family.
Xu Lin usually could only rest in a corner of the main room. In order not to embarrass himself, he had to roll up the blanket during the day to prevent being discovered by outsiders.
As for why she was not allowed to sleep in the kitchen or the utility room, Xu Lin herself didn't know.
She first went to the door of Xu's father and mother's room. The door was locked, but this was not a problem for Xu Lin. She took a rust needle and opened it in two or three moves.
The room is filled with mahogany furniture, and Xu Lin knows that these things will be very valuable in a few decades.
She was in no mood to appreciate and started searching quickly. During this search, Xu Lin's eyes lit up.
She actually found the entrance to a secret room under their beds. Inside the secret room were five large boxes and a small box.
Xu Lin did not rush to check what was in the box. Instead, he waved and put it into the warehouse, then continued searching.
Soon she searched the compartment of the cabinet and found a neatly stacked stack of small bills, all of which were large bundles of ten yuan each.
Xu Lin counted them quickly and found that there were five hundred yuan in total. Without saying a word, she put them into her own space.
It's all oh-so-oh-oh!
On top of the cabinet was a small iron box, which contained more than three hundred yuan and a roll of banknotes.
Then I found two hundred dollars in a shoe box, eight hundred dollars in the inner pocket of a piece of clothing, and a few letters in the hole in the wall.
Xu Lin opened the letter with curiosity and her face sank. She really didn't expect that Xu's father was actually colluding with foreign forces.
And it's not just ordinary collusion, it's selling intelligence.
If this matter were exposed, Xu Lin would break out in a cold sweat. No matter what era it is, spies and traitors will never have a good ending.
The key is that one person's violation of the law affects three generations.
Xu Lin doesn't want to be implicated by Xu's father.
I really didn't expect that Mr. Xu, who looks like a well-mannered man, does nothing behind the scenes.
It seems that the Xu family's wealth has little to do with the fake daughter, and replacing the child may not be that simple.
But this discovery did not make Xu Lin feel much better, but made her even angrier.
No, she had to cut off ties with this family as soon as possible and couldn't be implicated by the Xu family.
After Xu Lin searched Xu's father's room, she went to search Old Mrs. Xu's room. The old lady had a sharp tongue and dressed neatly, but her room was very shabby.
The room was as messy as a pigsty. Xu Lin carefully searched through it.
More than a hundred gold coins were found inside the pillow, and a hole was found in the leg of the bed, with a gold ring and a pair of gold earrings stuffed inside.
I also found a one-foot square hole under the cabinet, with a cookie box buried inside.
Inside were a pair of bracelets with good water content, two jade pendants, five small yellow croakers and a dozen silver dollars.
Xu Lin happily put all these things into the space.
As for whether the Xu family would discover that the things were stolen, Xu Lin was not worried at all. Even if they did, would they dare to report it to the police?
Xu Lin searched the yard inside and out for an entire afternoon and even found ten large boxes under the wall.
Apart from this, there were no other discoveries, but Xu Lin was still very happy.
She had originally thought about selling some food on the black market for money, but now, what could she sell? She might as well keep it for herself.
While the Xu family had not returned yet, Xu Lin returned to the room, slipped into the space warehouse, and happily opened the blind box.
She first opened the fifteen large boxes and found that three were filled with books, calligraphy and paintings, and five were filled with porcelain.
The porcelain wares include plates, bowls, teapots, vases, etc. The oldest ones can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty and the most recent is the Qing Dynasty.
There was also a box full of large yellow croakers, a box of silver ingots, a box of silver dollars and two boxes of gemstone jewellery.
The ornaments came as a complete set, and one could tell at a glance that they were very valuable. I wonder where the Xu family got them from.
These things alone were enough for Xu Lin to eat while lying down. Thinking that there was still a small box that had not been opened, Xu Lin quickly took the small box.
When she opened it, she found that the small box was filled with US dollars. She counted them and found that there were a total of 23,200 US dollars.
I go, I go!
Xu Lin raised her hand to her chest. She was still ignorant. She had never thought that the Xu family hid the secrets so well. No wonder they had so much rice and flour.
It won't stop no matter who you replace.
Xu Lin took a deep breath and was about to make some delicious food to celebrate when the gate was pushed open and she immediately slipped out of the space.
Mrs. Xu covered her pockets and cautiously came to Xu Lin's window and leaned her head to look inside.
Suddenly, a pair of dark pupils appeared in front of her eyes, and Mrs. Xu was so frightened that she fell to the ground with a cry.
Xu Lin looked down from above, squinting her peach blossom eyes and staring coldly at Old Mrs. Xu, making her sweat profusely.
"You, you." Old Mrs. Xu covered her chest with her hands and cursed Yaoshou secretly, saying that he was trying to scare her to death.
