Chapter 70 caused quite a stir.

"Come on, let's toast Director Liang!" Another round of clinking glasses filled the room.

Liang Wancheng was quite drunk and feeling smug when suddenly the window was flung open with a loud crash!

"Don't move!" Du Jianshan jumped in, holding a short stick in his hand.

He San Kui followed closely behind, and before his feet even touched the ground, he shook the sack in his hand with a "whoosh," shouting, "Everyone, squat down!"

"Who!" Zhao Baomin was shocked. He stood up and tried to overturn the table, but He Sankui kicked him and made him fall back into his chair.

"You dare—" Just as Wang Dongchen was about to pounce, Du Jianshan kicked over the table, shards of porcelain flying everywhere, startling him so much that he plopped back down on his stool.

“Liang Wancheng, are you still pretending? Did you sign this bag of cloth coupons next to you? Where did the town's approval stamp come from? Who stamped the transportation certificate?” Du Jianshan took a step closer, his face close to his. “Don’t think that you can get away with this mess just because you’ve finished drinking.”

Liang Wancheng turned pale with fright, his lips trembling: "I...I...they said...this...this is just a meal between friends..."

"You call this a friend? Your friends come to toast you with the town's official seal, blank receipts, and smuggling certificates?" Chai Jiting said coldly.

The room fell into a deathly silence.

Zhao Baomin wiped the wine from the corner of his mouth and said, "Don't listen to his nonsense! This is all a trap set by Du Jianshan. He's been watching us for a long time!"

"Yes! You gave yourself away." Du Jianshan waved his hand and slammed the receipts, ledgers, and tape recorder from the cloth bag onto the table.

“We recorded everything today. Liang Wancheng, you said, ‘Without my signature, Dongling tickets can’t even get past the town entrance,’ do you remember?”

“I, I…” Liang Wancheng sat down completely.

Chai Jiting outside was also busy, having already blocked the door completely. Only when he saw that there was no more struggling inside did he push the door open and come in.

“The people are being detained. Shouldn’t we notify the town’s armed forces department?” he asked.

Du Jianshan nodded: "This time we've caught them red-handed and have all the evidence. We need to follow the proper procedures and not let them recover."

Half an hour later, Xiao Ma from the town police station arrived in a hurry with two militiamen.

"Hey, Brother Du, did you really win over Director Liang this time?" Xiao Ma exclaimed in surprise.

"Look closely." Du Jianshan slapped the pile of evidence. "There's also the town government's official seal and the transportation station's fake invoices, nothing is missing."

"This is quite a shock..." Xiao Ma clicked his tongue. "Director Liang has been to the town party committee meetings, and he's usually very influential."

"So what if he's riding high?" Chai Jiting sneered. "This bastard has fallen into our hands this time. Let's see if he dares to smuggle again."

He San Kui looked up at the sky: "I'm afraid I'll be busy until the wee hours tonight."

Du Jianshan calmly said, "We have to keep busy. If we mess this up, all the work we've done these past few months will have been for nothing."

He paused, then looked at Xiao Ma: "Come on, let's take him back to the station together, so no one can sabotage him on the way."

"Alright!" Xiao Ma clasped his hands in a fist and said, "I witnessed everything that happened tonight, and I guarantee I will report it to the leader without missing a single word."

By the time everything was finished, it was already two in the morning.

Du Jianshan sat down against the threshold of the forest management station, lit a pipe, and exhaled a long breath.

Chai Jiting walked over and said, "Take a break, you're tired."

Du Jianshan nodded and said, "This is not the end, this is just the beginning."

"If we really want to clear the forest, we have to follow this line and dig further up."

Looking at the distant Black Mountain, Chai Jiting said softly, "I'll stick with you to the end."
