Chapter 456 A Big, Chubby Boy Was Born

No wonder it was so difficult to give birth; this little guy weighs a full eight pounds.

"Congratulations on the birth of your baby boy! He weighs a full nine pounds."

"Wife, it's over. You've worked so hard. You gave me a son. We have a son now."

Xie Chuan was excited and moved, his eyes reddening.

"How are you? Does it still hurt? You've really suffered. I really wanted to lie on top of you and share your pain just now."

"I feel much better now, but I feel a little weak. Did I hurt you by scratching you?"

An'an looked at Xie Chuan's arm, which was covered with red marks from her own scratches.

"What does this matter? As long as it can help relieve your pain, you can tear my arm apart, I don't care."

"Husband of the new mother, you can go out now. We'll do a physical examination for her now, and then we can take her to the ward."

"Okay, doctor, thank you so much. You are such good doctors, so dedicated and responsible."

"You're too kind. This is what I should do as an obstetrician and gynecologist."

"How are you? Xie Chuan, is An'an alright? Why didn't she come out?"

The parents all asked about An'an's condition.

"Don't worry, Mom and Dad are safe and sound. An'an is having a check-up inside now and will be wheeled to the ward soon. She gave birth to a big, healthy boy who weighs a full eight pounds."

"The doctor said that this little guy's head is particularly big. During the delivery, his head was stuck there and couldn't move, which made An'an suffer a lot."

"That's great, I'm so glad An'an is alright. My daughter has really suffered. I have a grandson now."

"Xie Chuan, what's wrong with your hand?"

Yu Jiu carefully observed the scratch marks on Xie Chuan's arm.

"It's okay, I'm fine. I just saw that An'an was in a lot of pain, so I let her hold my hand to relieve some of the pain."

"It's bleeding. Let the nurse take you to get it bandaged. If you don't get it bandaged, it will leave a scar."

Yu Jiu felt sorry for her daughter, and she also felt sorry for her son-in-law.

"Mom, I'll take my brother-in-law with me. You just wait here for my sister to come out."

Xu Feng volunteered to take Xie Chuan to the nurses' station for bandaging.

Xu Feng was once again impressed by his brother-in-law.

“I didn’t think highly of you before, I didn’t like you, and I thought you were unreliable. But after all these years, I think you’re alright and qualified to be my brother-in-law. But you’ve only been married for a short time, so you have to treat my sister as well as you do now. Also, one child is enough. Don’t make my sister have to give birth again; it’s too painful.”

Xu Feng expressed both admiration and advice.

"It's only right that I treat your sister well, and I will continue to do so. Don't worry, I don't want to have any more children. One is enough. You'll understand when you get married. By the way, I've been so busy taking care of your sister lately that I forgot to ask about you and Yingying."

Xie Chuan also began to care about Xu Feng.

"It'll probably be soon, in the next year or two."

"But as you know, my parents are focused on my sister, especially since she's pregnant this year."

"So they didn't really care about me, and Yingying's family wasn't in a hurry either. I wanted to marry her, but Yingying's family couldn't bear to part with her."

Xu Feng smiled wryly. Marrying someone's darling isn't that easy. He'd better wait a little longer.

"That's true. I've been wanting to marry your sister for a long time. You should work hard and try to marry your girlfriend as soon as possible. As long as you find the right person, marriage is not scary at all."

Xie Chuan spoke from his own experience.

"Yes, I know."

Xu Feng smiled easily, "Yingying will be the one for him."

"It's bandaged up. Be careful not to get this arm wet for the next week, and come to the hospital every day to change the dressing."

"Okay, thank you, doctor."

Just as Xie Chuan and Xu Feng reached the operating room door, An An was wheeled out. Looking at their weak daughter, Yu Jiu and Xu Zi couldn't stop their tears from flowing.

"Mom and Dad, why are you crying? I gave you a big, healthy grandson, shouldn't you be happy?"

"We're heartbroken for you. Seeing you so weak breaks my heart!"

Looking at her frail daughter, Yu Jiu couldn't help but shed tears, even though it was a joyous occasion.

"Okay, Mom, stop being so sentimental. I finally managed to give birth to this baby and have a little one. Cheer up."

An'an told them not to be sad anymore, that things weren't going too smoothly.

"Yes, Mom and Dad, you're making such a big fuss again. My sister is perfectly fine, and she even has a grandson. Right now, we should be playing a song about a good day."

Xu Feng successfully made everyone in the room laugh.

"Baby, we've put you in the intensive care unit for now. We'll bring you here once the check-up is complete and everything is normal. You can have something to drink in the meantime."

"But don't eat anything yet. Observe for a day first. If there are no adverse reactions, you can eat. If you do eat, try to eat something light first."

"Avoid spicy and stimulating foods, as this will ensure you have enough breast milk later on."

The doctor gave instructions.

"Okay, thank you, doctor. You've worked so hard, and it's so late, I'm sorry to trouble you again."

"You're too kind. As doctors, this is what we should do."

"Honey, you should rest for a while. You'll see the baby as soon as you open your eyes tomorrow."

An An nodded. She was too weak to say a word; giving birth had completely drained her.

Both sets of parents have stayed at the hospital and haven't gone back home.

The next morning, before An'an was even fully awake, the baby was wheeled in. The baby was healthy in all aspects, chubby and fair-skinned, and so adorable.

"This is our eldest grandson! He's so adorable! Those big eyes are just like An'an's when she was little."

Xu Zijiang looked at his grandson with great affection, as if he were seeing his daughter when she was a child.

"Did you wash your hands before touching it?"

Yu Jiu said disdainfully.

"I've disinfected my hands eight hundred times already, just so I can touch my great-grandson."

An'an woke up at this moment.

The child stayed with her parents, and Xie Chuan stayed by An An's side, never leaving her.

"Why is it so noisy? What are Mom and Dad doing over there?"

"The baby has arrived, and they are looking at the baby now."

Why aren't you going?

An'an said coquettishly.

“I checked yesterday. Besides, you can’t be left alone. What if you wake up and want a drink of water?”

"To be honest, I am actually a bit thirsty."

"I've already prepared warm water for you."

Xie Chuan thoughtfully held a straw for An An to drink slowly.

At this moment, Yu Jiu saw that her daughter had woken up, so she quickly brought the child to her daughter. This child was a piece of her own flesh and blood.

“Daughter, look, this is your son. He looks just like you two.”

"You two have really strong genes."

Looking at the baby in front of her, An'an felt a little helpless, after all, it was her first time being a mother.

"So it was this little guy who gave me a real ordeal last night."

"But seeing you now makes all the pain I suffered yesterday disappear. Is the baby healthy?"

"Everything is normal, and you are in very good health."
