Chapter 151 Trading

Meanwhile, in the luxurious yet sinister Liu family mansion in Beijing, Liu Xiangquan sat alone in his study. His desk was piled high with documents about the Gong family, detailing everything from their personal connections to their business dealings.

Liu Xiangquan stared at the documents, a sinister smile slowly creeping onto his lips. The smile seemed to come from the depths of hell, radiating endless malice.

"Old man Gong, so many years have passed, do you really think I would easily forget the humiliation of that year? Hmph, this time I will definitely make your Gong family lose all face and taste the pain of losing everything." Liu Xiangquan muttered to himself, his eyes filled with madness and determination, as if hatred had blinded him to all reason.

Liu Haixin, the second son of the Liu family, stood respectfully to the side and asked cautiously, "Father, the Gong family must have realized that we were the ones behind this. What should we do next?"

Liu Xiangquan snorted coldly, a hint of disdain flashing in his eyes: "So what if they know? They still can't figure out our whole plan. Continue to keep a close eye on the Gong family's every move in Yangcheng, especially Li Jin and the people around her. Find an opportunity to create some trouble for them and keep them from having any peace."

Liu Haixin nodded hurriedly, a hint of excitement and flattery flashing in his eyes: "Father, rest assured, I will do my best to make the Gong family suffer and taste the power of our Liu family."

Meanwhile, in Guangzhou, the crisis that Jinsheng Real Estate had previously encountered has been temporarily alleviated.

Li Jin obtained a crucial piece of information from Chen Yu—the current address of the mysterious "Snake Brother." Furthermore, she learned that "Snake Brother's" younger brother suffers from an extremely rare disease. Over the years, "Snake Brother" has taken his brother to numerous hospitals across the country seeking medical treatment, but all the experts have been unable to cure the disease, plunging "Snake Brother" into deep despair.

Soon, thanks to Chen Yu's careful arrangements, Li Jin finally had the opportunity to meet this mysterious "Snake Brother".

A nauseating stench permeated the alley behind the provincial hospital. The garbage station was piled high with all sorts of trash, and broken glass shards were scattered on the ground. Li Jin carefully stepped over the broken glass and slowly walked in.

“Hey girl,” Chen Yu’s voice came from the abandoned boiler room, “Snake is waiting for you inside.”

Li Jin gently pushed open the boiler room door, causing the rust on the door to fall off with the movement. The boiler room was dimly lit, and a man sat quietly on an oil drum with his back to her, holding a military dagger in his hand, intently peeling an apple.

The cold light reflected from the blade swept across his bare arms, revealing a lifelike blue dragon tattoo that snaked from his wrist bone to his collarbone. The deep, bone-revealing scar above the dragon's eye added to its ferocity and terror.

“Commander Gong’s wife,” Snake Brother suddenly spoke, his voice hoarse like sandpaper rubbing, “is more courageous than I imagined, daring to come alone.”

He slowly turned around, and Li Jin couldn't help but gasp. He saw a scar on his left cheek that stretched from his brow bone to his jawline, twisted like a centipede. He wore a black eye patch over his right eye, and the half of his face that was exposed was sharply defined, with dark stubble. He exuded a chilling aura.

“Brother Snake,” Li Jin took a deep breath and mustered his courage to say, “I can cure your brother’s illness.”

Snake Brother's hand, gripping the dagger, froze instantly. A complex, unreadable light flashed in his single eye, a mixture of surprise and deep suspicion. He spoke coldly, his tone full of wariness: "Mr. Li, what makes you think you can cure it? I've taken my brother to visit renowned doctors all over the country, and experts from major hospitals are helpless against this disease. What ability do you have?"

“Since Brother Snake knows I’m Commander Gong’s wife, you must have heard of my medical skills.” With that, Li Jin took out an antique porcelain bottle from her handbag. The bottle was decorated with delicate blue-and-white patterns, giving it a unique elegance in the dim light. She handed the bottle to Brother Snake and continued, “This is a specially made elixir that has unexpected and miraculous effects on some difficult and complicated diseases. You can give it to your brother first and see how it works.”

Snake Brother didn't reach out to take it, his eyes filled with wariness: "Mr. Li, why should I trust you? What if this is some kind of poison? What if my brother takes it...?"

Li Jin frowned slightly, looked sincerely at Snake Brother, and said earnestly, "Snake Brother, if I wanted to harm you, I wouldn't have needed to come to this remote place myself. I genuinely want to help your brother get rid of his illness, but of course, I also have my own purposes. I need you to use your connections and methods to help me investigate some things."

Snake remained silent for a long time, his gaze shifting back and forth between Li Jin and the porcelain bottle, as if weighing the pros and cons.

Finally, he slowly reached out, took the porcelain bottle, and gently sniffed it. A strange and refreshing medicinal fragrance instantly filled the air. He looked up at Li Jin, as if he had made a great decision, and gritted his teeth, saying, "Fine, I trust you this time. But let me make this clear: if anything happens to my brother after he takes this medicine, I will risk my life to make you pay."

Li Jin nodded gently, her tone sincere: "I understand your concerns, after all, it concerns your brother's safety. But you don't have a better choice right now, you can only trust me, can you?"

Snake carefully put the porcelain bottle away, his tone softening slightly: "Ms. Li, Chen Yu has already told me what you wanted me to do. I'll give you an answer in three days." Li Jin breathed a sigh of relief; she knew Snake was a man of his word. "Okay, I'll wait for your news." With that, she and Chen Yu left the abandoned boiler room, which reeked of decay.
