Chapter 73 A Busy Day Off (2/2)

Lin Jin quickly waved her hand and said with a smile, "Grandma, don't be shy, I've already had breakfast. Please eat slowly, don't worry about me. I'll take your pulse after you finish eating."

Grandma Jin is old and her teeth aren't very good, so she always eats very slowly. While Grandma Jin was eating, Lin Jin quickly took out her class notes from her medicine box—actually, from her spatial storage—and handed them to Jin Yuanyuan.

These past few days, Jin Yuanyuan hadn't been to class because she was taking care of her sick grandmother. So, every time Lin Jin came to help Grandma Jin with her medical appointments, she would bring her her class notes. Jin Yuanyuan took the notes, repeatedly expressing her gratitude, tears welling up in her eyes.

Lin Jin couldn't bear to see the little girl cry, so she quickly comforted her, "Yuanyuan, don't cry. Anyway, I need to take notes, and I'll remember them better if I write them down again. Go and see if Grandma has finished eating, don't keep her waiting."

After listening to Lin Jin's words, Jin Yuanyuan carefully put the notebook into the drawer, then took out another notebook and handed it to Lin Jin. Lin Jin took the notebook and put it in the first-aid kit, but in reality, she put the notebook back into her personal space.

After Grandma Jin finished eating, Lin Jin stepped forward to take her pulse. Her expression was focused as she gently placed her fingers on Grandma Jin's wrist, feeling the pulse. After a moment, Lin Jin said with a smile, "Grandma Jin has fully recovered now, but she's getting old, and she was sick again recently, so her body is still a little weak! But don't worry, I can prescribe a medicine to help her." As she spoke, Lin Jin took out paper and pen and wrote down several medicinal herbs and their dosages. Jin Yuanyuan took the prescription and said, "Can you have lunch at my house today? Every time you come, you don't even drink a drop of water before you leave!"

As Lin Jin packed her things, she said, "I have to go see a doctor for a friend's grandfather today, so I really can't eat here. Why are you being so polite with me?"

Grandma Jin chimed in, "Girl! Every time you come, you bring things and help me with my medical care without accepting any money. We feel so bad about it. Please stay for a meal." Lin Jin smiled and shook her head. "Grandma, I'm happy as long as you're feeling better. It's all only right. My friend's grandfather is sick, and I have to go there right away." Seeing her insistence, Jin Yuanyuan and Grandma Jin didn't try to stop her.

Jin Yuanyuan glanced cautiously at Grandma Jin, then hurriedly ran into the house like a little rabbit. After a while, she came out carrying a wooden box.

Lin Jin's gaze fell on the wooden box. The patterns on its surface were worn, clearly indicating it had weathered many years. The box looked quite old; although the patterns were blurred, their former beauty was still evident.

"Yuanyuan, what is this..." Lin Jin looked at Jin Yuanyuan in confusion, not understanding why she suddenly took out such a box for her.

Jin Yuanyuan blushed slightly and said somewhat shyly, "This box contains a small heirloom from my grandmother's family. I don't really have any use for it! I thought you would like it, so I wanted to give it to you. Thank you for all the help you've given me and my grandmother."

Grandma Jin smiled and chimed in, "Girl, don't look down on this old thing. It's not worth much money, but it's a token of our affection!"

Lin Jin was deeply moved by Grandma Jin's words. He knew that the wooden box must have special meaning for Jin Yuanyuan and Grandma Jin, and the fact that they gave him such a precious gift showed their profound affection.

Lin Jin declined several times, but ultimately couldn't resist Jin Yuanyuan and Grandma Jin's enthusiasm, so she had no choice but to accept the gift! Lin Jin carefully placed the wooden box into her medicine box!
