Chapter 75 Meeting the Yu Family (2/2)

Hearing what Grandpa Gong said, Li Yunlu was somewhat unwilling, but she still pouted and muttered softly, "Maybe it's just good luck..."

Yu Zhenzhen quickly tugged at her daughter's sleeve and said with a smile, "The child is just being silly, Dr. Lin, please don't take it to heart." Lin Jin generously replied, "It's alright, Aunt Yu."

At this moment, Old Master Gong sat down again and said, "Let's continue." Lin Jin also returned to his seat and continued playing chess with Old Master Gong. Li Yunlu watched from the side, occasionally making a disdainful sound.

Yu Zhenzhen kept staring at Lin Jin. When Grandma Gong saw Yu Zhenzhen staring blankly at Lin Jin, she knew, "Yu Zhenzhen must have noticed that Lin Jin looks a lot like her mother!"

Grandma Gong pulled Yu Zhenzhen aside and asked, "Did you come here today for something?"

Yu Zhenzhen shook her head and said, "Didn't I hear that Uncle Gong has been sick lately? I came to see him."

Grandma Gong said, "This is an old ailment of his. Xiao Jin just prescribed him some medicine, and you know what? He hasn't coughed for quite a while now!"

Yu Zhenzhen asked with some doubt, "Is her medical skill really that good?"

With a smile on her face, Grandma Gong nodded in satisfaction and said proudly, "Indeed, this young lady is truly remarkable! Not only is her medical skill superb, but she is also a student at Tsinghua University!" Her tone revealed her admiration and affection for Lin Jin.

Then, Grandma Gong turned her gaze to Yu Zhenzhen and asked with a smile, "Look at her, isn't she especially beautiful? I think she looks a bit like your mother when she was young!"

Upon mentioning her mother, Yu Zhenzhen's eyes immediately welled up with tears. Trying to control her emotions, she nodded shyly and replied, "Yes, she does resemble my mother somewhat, but I've met all my mother's relatives, so there shouldn't be any connection, right?"

Grandma Gong glanced thoughtfully at Lin Jin again, then said, "She's from Suzhou, so she shouldn't have any direct relationship with your mother."

Upon hearing that Lin Jin was from Suzhou, Yu Zhenzhen's heart suddenly raced, as if it were about to leap out of her throat. Some hazy memories in her mind became clear again, making her mood even heavier. She didn't tell Grandma Gong that Lin Jin's eyes actually looked very much like Li Qiang's!

Grandma Gong noticed the change in Yu Zhenzhen's expression and comforted her with concern, "You and Yunlu have really suffered all these years! But let bygones be bygones, after all, so much time has passed. You should let go of the past too, and Yunlu is all grown up now!"

Yu Zhenzhen glanced in Lin Jin's direction again, then nodded and said, "Thank you, Aunt Hui! I'll be fine!"

Then she asked, "Aunt Hui, where in Suzhou is Dr. Lin from? Are her parents also from Suzhou?"

Grandma Gong replied, "Actually, I don't know much about it either. I only know that she met Mo Ze when she went from Suzhou to Heilongjiang to work in the countryside! She was hardworking and even got into such a good school as Tsinghua University!"

Then she added, "If you have any questions, feel free to ask her. She's a very kind girl!"
