Chapter 93 Agreeing to Return to the Yu Family (1/2)

Yu Zhenzhen was slightly taken aback at first, then her eyes instantly turned red, as if illuminated by a burning flame. She held back the tears that were about to spill from her eyes, and tried to lower her head, repeatedly saying "okay, okay..." Her voice trembled slightly, as if each word carried the unspeakable complex emotions deep in her heart.

Yu Zhenzhen was still immersed in the sudden joy when Grandpa Yu broke the slightly heavy atmosphere. He smiled, his eyes full of love and relief, and slowly said, "Jin'er, you'll be officially going home the day after tomorrow. I'll call a car to pick you up then, and you can't go back on your word!" His words revealed an undeniable firmness, yet were also mixed with his doting affection for Lin Jin.

"Okay, I'll listen to Grandpa." Yu Zhenzhen seemed to snap out of a daze, but her tone sounded somewhat unnatural, and her eyes flickered, as if she was trying to hide some emotion in her heart. She looked at Lin Jin and said cautiously, "Xiao Jin, how about Mom picks you up the day after tomorrow? I..." Her hesitant appearance made it seem as if she had a thousand words to say, but didn't know where to begin.

"Okay," Lin Jin agreed readily, which surprised Yu Zhenzhen for a moment. A hint of surprise flashed in her eyes, but it was quickly replaced by an indescribable emotion.

Then, Yu Zhenzhen checked the time and said softly, "Xiao Jin, why don't you go home tonight? I'll call a car to take you to school tomorrow morning." Lin Jin gently shook her head and said, "No, I still need to go back to the courtyard to get some things. Things I need for school, I'm afraid I won't have enough time tomorrow." Her eyes were firm, revealing an independent and self-reliant personality.

"Okay, Mom will call a car to take you home now. It's getting late, and I'm worried about you going home alone!" Yu Zhenzhen said, then hurriedly went out, her steps slightly flustered, as if she was worried about her daughter's safety. A little while later, she rushed back and said, "Xiaojin, come on, Mom will see you to the car!"

Grandpa Yu smiled and nodded, his wrinkles seeming to smooth out, and agreed, "Yes, let your mother take you downstairs; it'll be safer that way." He paused briefly, then continued, "Zhenzhen, you should go back too. Xiao Liu is taking care of me here; it'll be fine. Make sure Jin'er gets home safely first, then go home and rest. After all, you have to go to work tomorrow, so you can't overwork yourself." His words were full of concern and care for his daughter.

Yu Zhenzhen obediently responded and nodded vigorously, saying, "Okay, Father, I'll take Xiaojin back first. You can wait here patiently, and I'll bring you food later." Her eyes revealed a sense of filial piety and responsibility.

Grandpa Yu quickly waved his hand, a kind smile on his face, and said, "No need, no need, the hospital will provide meals. You all go back quickly, Xiao Liu will really take care of me here, don't worry. Zhenzhen, this is a crucial time for you, you can't let your work fall behind!"

Hearing her father's words, Yu Zhenzhen felt a little guilty, but she couldn't insist any further, so she led Lin Jin towards the hospital entrance. The street in front of the hospital was bustling with people and vehicles. Sure enough, a car was parked not far from the entrance, quietly waiting for them. It was a black sedan, its metallic sheen gleaming in the afterglow of the setting sun, giving it an exceptionally dignified appearance.

The two got into the car and, without prior arrangement, sat in the back. A faint smell of leather filled the air, and the quiet was so profound that they could almost hear each other's breathing. Throughout the journey, Yu Zhenzhen hesitated several times, her gaze sometimes drifting out the window, sometimes stealing glances at Lin Jin, as if she wanted to say something, but ultimately remained silent. Her conflicted expression suggested a fierce internal struggle.

Lin Jin observed this and understood somewhat. Finally, she couldn't help but ask, "Is there something you want to ask me? Please ask whatever you want." Her voice was soft yet firm, breaking the silence in the car.

Yu Zhenzhen pursed her lips, which trembled slightly as if she were organizing her thoughts. Then she slowly said, "Are you doing well at school? Has anyone bullied you? Are your classmates easy to get along with?" Her eyes were full of concern and worry, as if everything about her daughter touched her heartstrings.
