Suddenly, the car braked sharply. Lin Wan lost her balance and almost fell. She lunged forward, pretending to accidentally bump into Lin Jin. Lin Jin turned around, saw it was Lin Wan, and her brows furrowed instantly.
"Hey, isn't this Lin Jin? Where have you been all this time? You're dressed so smartly, did you make a fortune in the countryside?" Lin Wan said sarcastically.
Lin Jin gave her a cold look and ignored her. Lin Wan, however, persisted, saying, "Why aren't you saying anything? Have you done something shameful?"
Lin Jin took a deep breath and said, "Lin Wan, don't be unreasonable here. I have nothing to say to you." Seeing Lin Jin's cold attitude, Lin Wan became even angrier and raised her voice, "Everyone, look! This is my sister! She's back but hasn't come home. I don't know what she's been doing outside, and she's acting all high and mighty!" People around them cast strange glances. A flash of anger crossed Lin Jin's eyes, but she quickly calmed down. She slowly stood up, looked directly at Lin Wan, and said, "If you have nothing better to do, you should go back and take care of your health, so you don't end up unable to have a child and still causing trouble here." Lin Wan's face instantly turned pale. She hadn't expected Lin Jin to hit her sore spot so directly. "You...you're talking nonsense!" Lin Wan was furious and reached out to grab Lin Jin. Just then, the bus suddenly braked sharply again, and Lin Wan stumbled, falling onto an older woman next to her. The older woman was not one to be trifled with; she immediately launched into a tirade of insults. Lin Wan, her face flushed red, slunk back to her seat, not daring to utter another word. Lin Jin sat down again.
Soon they arrived at the station where Lin Jin got off. Lin Wan saw Lin Jin get off and followed her off. Lin Jin stood behind her on the bus without moving. She smiled and looked at Lin Wan who was following her and said, "What, you want to treat me to dinner?"
Looking at the people coming and going on the street, Lin Wan immediately put on a pitiful look and said, "Little sister, it's okay if you're angry with me, but Mom and Dad are still your parents. You can't not go see them! Do you know how much they've missed you this past year? I could always hear Mom secretly crying, saying she was sorry, that the family simply didn't have the money to buy you a job, so she had to go to the countryside!"
Lin Jin sneered, "Stop pretending. When you plotted to send me to the countryside, why didn't you think about how Mom and Dad would miss me? Why didn't you think about how you felt sorry for me? Now you're acting like a good person." Lin Wan was speechless, her eyes flickered, and she said, "Little sister, what's past is past, don't dwell on it. Mom and Dad are getting old and are hoping you'll come back."
Lin Jin crossed her arms. "Me, hold a grudge? If it weren't for you, would I have gone to the countryside? Don't think I don't know what you're up to. I'm busy right now, I don't have time to play games with you." With that, Lin Jin turned to leave. Lin Wan gritted her teeth and grabbed Lin Jin's arm. "You have to come back with me to see Mom and Dad today." Lin Jin shook off her hand. "Don't force me to take action. I'll say it one last time, I won't go back with you. If you keep bothering me, don't blame me for being impolite." Lin Wan looked at Lin Jin's cold eyes, feeling a little intimidated, but still forced herself to say, "If you don't go back, you're being unfilial." Passersby also pointed at Lin Jin and started talking! Seeing this, Lin Wan could barely suppress her smile. Lin Jin looked at her and suddenly laughed, "Unfilial?? You've probably forgotten that we've severed ties. It was published in the newspapers. You've already forgotten after only a year? Should I bring out the newspapers? I think you should mind your own business first and stop thinking about scheming against others all day." After saying that, Lin Jin strode away, leaving Lin Wan standing there stomping her feet in anger.
Lin Jin quickly boarded another bus. There were very few people on the bus. Lin Jin found a seat and sat down, thinking about Lin Wan's actions earlier. Since the Lin family scum were so idle as to want to cause trouble for her, she might as well help them out!
