Chapter 12 The Cold-Faced King of Hell and His Pretty Wife (2/2)

Seeing that Yan Qingxue's complexion was not good, Song Mingyi knew that it would be even worse if she became more deeply involved: "She looks like she's quite far along in her pregnancy, she should be giving birth soon."

Yan Qingxue swayed slightly.

"Qingxue, are you alright?" The two of them helped her up at the same time.

Yan Qingxue left with a pale face: "I still need to go find my father, I'm leaving now."

Song Mingyi and Lin Beixiao exchanged a glance. They both knew that the other liked Yan Qingxue, and that there was absolutely no possibility of Yan Qingxue and Lu Jinyuan getting together now.

They definitely need to work hard.

Family compound.

"Honey, you must be tired after traveling for days. I'll go to the cafeteria to get food, you sit down and rest." Lu Jinyuan took out a few lunch boxes.

Ran Jinnian was a bit tired after traveling for several days and had no interest in exploring the military area: "Okay."

Lu Jinyuan hurriedly went to the canteen, and everyone greeted him when they saw him: "Commander Lu".

"Commander Lu is back."

Lu Jinyuan had no interest in chatting, so he quickly got his food and went back home.

"Wife, eat more. You've lost a lot of weight these past few days," Lu Jinyuan said with heartache.

Ran Jinnian glanced at the dishes in the military canteen. There was cabbage, potatoes, and radish stewed with meat, but the meat was mostly fatty.

Lu Jinyuan also took a few mixed grain steamed buns. White flour steamed buns are scarce now, and even if there are any, they are eaten by those in higher positions.

She also put food on his plate, saying, "Eat more. You've been sitting for the past few days and you must be exhausted."

"I'm not tired."

With his wife joining him in the army, Lu Jinyuan was full of energy.

He picked out all the fatty meat and handed it to Ran Jin, saying, "Wife, I'll take you for your prenatal checkup tomorrow."

"Um."

Ran Jin nodded.

After the two had dinner, Lu Jinyuan boiled a large pot of water, and Ran Jinnian took a comfortable bath.

Lu Jinyuan massaged her legs, and after taking care of her, he used the remaining water to rinse himself off.

"Honey, what are you doing?" Ran Jinnian asked as he walked towards the small room.

"Your belly is getting bigger, so we'll sleep in separate beds."

Lu Jinyuan was afraid that he might hurt his wife.

Ran Jinnian refused: "We are husband and wife, I will sleep wherever you sleep."

Lu Jinyuan's eyes widened.

"Honey, go to sleep. We have a prenatal checkup tomorrow." Ran Jinnian saw him standing by the bed looking like a clueless young man.

Okay, time to sleep.

Lu Jinyuan lifted the covers. Who would want to sleep alone in the cold when they could hold their wife?

............

The next morning.

The sun had just peeked out from behind the clouds.

Lu Jinyuan opened his eyes, looked at his wife sleeping soundly beside him, and tiptoed out of bed to the kitchen.

He took a bucket and went out to fetch water.

When I returned, Ran Jinnian was already up and busy in the kitchen.

There was only a coal stove and a small pot in the kitchen, and very few bowls and chopsticks.

No rush.

She has space.

Ran Jinnian took out a bowl and chopsticks from her spatial storage.

"Wife, sleep a little longer." Lu Jinyuan put down the bucket, still holding a handful of green vegetables in his hand.

Ran Jinnian shook her head: "I'm not going to sleep. Oh, where did you get these vegetables?"

"Sister Zhou next door grew them herself, I told her." Lu Jinyuan quickly lit the coal stove.

He started a fire, then scooped up some flour, added water, and kneaded it by hand until it formed a dough.

Once the dough has been kneaded to a certain consistency, pick up the rolling pin and press it down. Repeat this action until the dough is rolled into a thin sheet.

Ran Jinnian cut the rolled-out dough into thin strips of noodles.

Seeing that Lu Jinyuan had finished rolling out the noodles, Ran Jinnian washed the pot and added water. She took out two porcelain bowls from the cupboard and put in some lard, soy sauce, and minced garlic.

Soon, two bowls of fragrant hand-pulled noodles were ready.
