"Thank you, Sister-in-law Zhou. How much is it?" Ran Jinnian took the money.
Zhou Hongying said, "One meat ticket, plus seven cents."
"Okay, sister-in-law, I'll get it to you in a bit." Ran Jinnian said, then remembered something: "You bought meat for me, so can't we buy any more this month?"
There are now restrictions on buying meat; you can't just buy it anywhere.
Zhou Hongying smiled and said, "I won't buy anything this month if I don't need it. You should go back and change your clothes, or you'll catch a cold."
"good."
Ran Jinnian went home, changed her clothes, and then hung them out to dry.
She drank a carton of warm milk, then took out the receipts and money from her spatial storage. After thinking for a moment, she took out some dried vermicelli from her spatial storage before leaving the house.
"Sister-in-law Zhou, here's the meat ticket and seven cents," Ran Jin read aloud as she entered the room.
Zhou Hongying was washing her youngest son's face when she wiped her hands and took the bag from him, noticing a bag of dried vermicelli: "What are you doing here?"
"Sister-in-law, these are sun-dried by my family. Why don't you make some soup and let the children try them?"
"You're too kind, please take it back."
Zhou Hongying pushed it back.
Ran Jinnian didn't answer: "Sister-in-law, I still have to go to the hospital."
"Oh, what's wrong?" Zhou Hongying was taken aback.
Ran Jinnian said in a soft, sweet voice, "I'm not feeling well, I'm going to the hospital to get checked out."
"Are you alright? I'll go with you." Zhou Hongying quickly put down her work and stepped forward to support Ran Jinnian.
She called out to the neighbor, "Shulan, could you watch my child for me?"
"Okay."
Qin Shulan replied.
"Thank you, Sister-in-law Zhou."
Ran Jinnian pretended to let her support her. As soon as the two went out, several of Zhou Hongying's familiar military dependents asked, "Hongying, where are you going?"
“Jin Nian isn’t feeling well, I’ll go with her to the hospital,” Zhou Hongying said.
Ran Jinnian deliberately said, "You were probably startled when you were washing clothes just now, and now your stomach feels a little uncomfortable."
They left.
"Commander Lu's wife is too delicate. She can't even enjoy washing clothes properly."
"His wife doesn't look like she can endure hardship. It would be a nightmare for any family to marry a wife like that."
"Commander Lu is in for a lot of trouble."
In this day and age, everyone likes women who can endure hardship and get the job done.
Just then, Yu Xiuzhi led several women to the front of the courtyard and pounded heavily on the door.
"Come out, you come out here right now."
Qin Shulan saw Yu Xiuzhi knocking on the door: "Yu Xiuzhi, what are you doing?"
"I'm looking for Commander Lu's wife; she just splashed water all over me." Yu Xiuzhi went home to change her clothes before coming.
Qin Shulan glanced at her and said, "Ran Jinnian is not feeling well, she went to the hospital."
Yu Xiuzhi's anger vanished instantly: "What did you say?"
Qin Shulan, with Zhou Hongying's youngest son by her side, rolled her eyes and said, "Are you hard of hearing? She went to the hospital."
Yu Xiuzhi then remembered that Ran Jinnian was heavily pregnant.
But then she thought that she hadn't done anything wrong, so even if it affected the baby, it wasn't her problem.
Yu Xiuzhi thought this to herself, but her momentum waned considerably: "Let's talk about it when she gets back."
Military hospital.
Dr. Gao glanced at the report and said, "You've had a bit of a miscarriage; you need to rest well."
"Doctor, is everything alright?" Ran Jinnian asked, her face showing some panic and deep concern.
Seeing that she was scared, Dr. Gao softened his tone and said, "Go home and rest well. Don't get angry. You'll recover quickly."
