Chapter 27 Midnight Snack (2/2)

Ran Jin poured a large bowl of water for everyone.

"Thank you, sister-in-law," everyone said.

"Do you want to check the wardrobe?" Shi Hai asked.

"No need, brother."

Ran Jinnian didn't have anything worth checking.

"Then we'll be going." Shi Hai felt much better after drinking the water, and he led his soldiers away.

"Jin Nian, why do you have so many wardrobes?"

Zhou Hongying carried her youngest son on her back while also carrying a bucket of clothes.

Ran Jinnian nodded: "After the baby is born, there won't be enough cabinets."

Moreover, one of the two wardrobes needs to be converted into a shoe rack.

"Children's things may look small, but they take up a lot of space." Zhou Hongying, who has three children, has a lot of experience with this.

The two chatted for a few more minutes, then Zhou Hongying took a bucket to the river to wash clothes.

Ran Jinnian closed the courtyard gate and went back to her room to continue writing the script.

She first cut some fruit before sitting down at the table to write.

Today her mind was full of stories, and she felt very inspired to write them, her pen never stopping.

Ran Jinnian kept writing until her wrists ached, and then she realized that she had actually written several long paragraphs.

She read it carefully, made corrections to the shortcomings, and was very satisfied with it.

"Hey girl, hey girl."

Someone outside started shouting.

Ran Jinnian got up and looked out the window, only to find that it was the sisters-in-law who had come yesterday. She was about to leave.

Suddenly I remembered there was fruit on the table, a variety that I couldn't buy.

She quickly put it into her spatial storage before opening the courtyard gate.

When Ran Jinnian saw what they were holding, she was stunned: "Sisters-in-law, what are you doing?"

"Girl, you wrote the script for us while you were heavily pregnant. We really didn't know how to thank you, so we made you something to eat."

"Girl, we can't sing, dance, or write stories, but we're barely good at cooking."

Everyone chimed in, stuffing the food they were holding into Ran Jinnian's hands.

Ran Jinnian was surprised by everyone's enthusiasm. She winked and smiled, "My sisters-in-law really don't want me to suffer any loss, so I won't be polite."

"Ha ha ha ha."

Everyone laughed, finding Ran Jinnian's words quite amusing.

As Yu Xiuzhi walked over with several close family members, she saw Ran Jinnian chatting animatedly with several women, and she rolled her eyes.

Ran Jinnian had only been in the family compound for a short time, but she had already gotten to know many family members.

Have you heard?

A plump woman also noticed the group of people opposite her and spoke mysteriously.

Someone chimed in, "What did you hear?"

"You know that woman standing at the courtyard gate, right?" The fat woman glanced at her.

Everyone glanced at it and exclaimed: "The wife of Lu Jinyuan, the cold-faced Yama."

"I heard she only has a high school diploma, and even the headmaster of the primary school came to her door to ask her to be a teacher."

"She is indeed beautiful."

Hearing what everyone said, Yu Xiuzhi was very unhappy: "Who are you dressing up for all day? You don't act like a military family member."

Everyone fell silent for a moment.

Ran Jinnian's clothes were brightly colored, but there was nothing wrong with them.

"That's not what I meant." Seeing that no one knew, Li Yan lowered her voice and said, "This Mid-Autumn Festival performance wasn't for our family members. The script she wrote was for those family members to perform. I heard it's called something...something...a play, yes, a play."

"What?"

"What is a stage play?"

"What is this? How do you perform it?"

None of the people had ever seen a play before, so they didn't know what it was.

Yu Xiuzhi sneered: "Ignorant fool."
