Chapter 6 The Repressed Man (1/2)

After seeing several police officers run out and ride their bicycles towards the west of the city, Ran Jinnian left as well.

As she walked, she pondered how to retrieve the fruit from the space.

Resources are scarce now, and the variety of fruits is limited; most are common ones like apples, pears, and oranges.

She wouldn't take rare fruits either, otherwise it would be too conspicuous and impossible to explain.

Sudden.

She felt the basket sink; it was filled with big, bright red apples.

Ran Jinnian was stunned.

She didn't even enter the space; she just thought about it for a moment, and the apple appeared.

It seems she can retrieve things without entering the space.

Ran Jinnian looked at the basket of apples; it was a bit too much.

With a thought, she removed more than half of the apple.

Very good.

Ran Jinnian added some more meat to the basket before carrying it home.

"Jin Nian went to the supply and marketing cooperative. What did she buy?" Aunt Zhou, the neighbor, saw Ran Jin Nian carrying a basket, but it was covered by a cloth so she couldn't see what was inside.

"Nothing much, just bought some groceries."

Ran Jinnian smiled and said, "Of course, we have to keep this matter of the space a secret."

Aunt Zhou pursed her lips; the basket looked so heavy, she must have bought a lot of things.

Ran Jin went upstairs and happened to run into her two nephews playing at the bottom of the stairs.

She waved her hand: "Xixi, Chengcheng."

"Auntie!" The two little ones immediately rushed over.

Ran Jinnian patted the two little ones on the head and gave them four apples: "Take them back quickly."

"Thank you, Auntie!" the two little ones exclaimed, grabbing the apples and running home quickly.

When Ran Jinnian returned home, Lu Jinyuan was arranging the coal he had brought back.

The man was wearing a white tank top, his muscular physique both sexy and toned.

Ran Jinnian's eyes flickered, and she stepped forward with the basket, saying, "Honey, I bought apples."

Lu Jinyuan stood up, looked at the apples in her basket, and was slightly surprised: "Such big apples."

"There weren't many apples, so I only managed to grab a few," Ran Jinnian said somewhat guiltily.

She washed an apple and gave it to Lu Jinyuan.

Lu Jinyuan broke it in half with his hand: "Wife, you eat too."

He took a bite of the apple and found it to be crisp, sweet, juicy, and incredibly delicious.

These apples are likely made for exclusive use and will not be sold publicly.

He couldn't figure it out for a moment.

Ran Jinnian was eating an apple while thinking about the space.

She's going to live with Lu Jinyuan for the rest of her life, can the secret be kept hidden?

Ran Jin was in a state of utter confusion.

Just then, a commotion broke out outside.

Ran Jinnian gathered her thoughts and went outside, only to hear many people saying that the police had arrested several speculators.

"Those people are really bold to do something like this."

"What wouldn't those thugs and hooligans do? Arrest them and eat them like peanuts."

"Oh, it can't be that bad."

"They're cracking down so hard right now, it's the perfect time to take action. Even if you don't take any action, things won't be much better."

Ran Jinnian listened with great interest, wondering if Song Zehan had been caught.

At noon, Ran Jinnian stewed a radish and pork rib soup. The aroma filled the apartment building, making everyone's mouths water.

"Who's eating meat? It smells so good."

"The Lu family is really something else; they get married and eat meat every day."

"Lu Jinyuan is a military officer, what makes you think you can compare?"

"Grandma, Grandma, I want to eat meat too."

The apartment building was in an uproar.

Ran Jinnian didn't care what others thought or said; her in-laws could afford to eat meat.

Lu's mother was a textile factory worker. Years ago, Lu's father fell ill and incurred a lot of debt.

With two children to care for, Lu's mother faced some difficulties in raising the family.
