Chapter 83 Silver Lock (1/2)

An older woman looked at the two of them and asked, "Who are you?"

“We’re here to visit relatives. My daughter’s name is Ran Jinnian, and she is Lu Jinyuan’s mother,” Wang Xiumei said.

"You are the family of Commander Lu and his wife. The young couple lives in this courtyard." The other person pointed to the courtyard in front of them very warmly.

Seeing that the two were carrying large and small bags, she said, "Here, let me help you carry some."

Wang Xiumei and Lu's mother smiled broadly: "Thank you, thank you so much."

"It's just ahead, we're here." The sister-in-law called out from outside the courtyard gate, "Ran, sister."

Ran Jinnian had just finished feeding An'an, and the little guy was still half asleep when a voice suddenly came, startling him so much that he shuddered.

"Wow!"

An'an burst into tears.

Wang Xiumei and Lu's mother heard a child crying inside the house, so they quickened their pace.

"They're here."

Ran Jinnian had no choice but to carry An'an out.

As soon as she went outside, she saw two familiar figures.

"Mom." Ran Jinnian's eyes reddened as she strode forward to greet her.

When Wang Xiumei saw her daughter, her nose tingled with emotion: "My little girl."

When Lu's mother saw the mother and daughter with tears in their eyes, she wasn't jealous, after all, they were mother and daughter.

"Mom." Ran Jin thought to herself that she hadn't called her mother-in-law yet, so she turned around and called out again.

"Why."

Lu's mother happily responded.

The two looked at the little one in Ran Jinnian's arms.

Oh!

He's really sturdy.

The daughter (daughter-in-law) is treated well.

"Quickly, come inside."

Ran Jinnian stepped aside to let the two of them into the house and put their things down.

"You two chat, I'll be going now." The sister-in-law who had been helping the two carry their things left as soon as the family was reunited.

Wang Xiumei said, "Sister, come over for a visit another day."

Ran Jinnian put An'an on the bed and went to the kitchen to pour out a basin of hot water: "Mom, wash your face and dry your hands. The handkerchiefs have been prepared for a while."

She prepared two handkerchiefs, one for each of the two mothers.

Wang Xiumei thought she wouldn't be staying long: "One pack is enough for your mother-in-law and me."

"Mom, this is a washcloth. You should use your own." Ran Jinnian refused.

Wang Xiumei kept nagging, but still took the handkerchief: "What's the big deal? Your mother-in-law and I have known each other for decades."

The two washed their faces and hands.

"Mom, here are two pairs of cotton shoes. You'll be more comfortable wearing these." Ran Jinnian took out the cotton shoes she had prepared earlier.

She knows her mother's and mother-in-law's shoe sizes.

The two changed into cotton shoes and couldn't help but sigh.

"These cotton shoes are so comfortable, and the cotton is so thick."

"These cotton shoes are so soft to wear."

The two walked a few steps in the cotton shoes, finding them comfortable and warm, and neither wanted to take them off.

They changed their coats again; they were covered in frost from the journey.

Unable to contain herself any longer, Lu's mother went to the bedside, picked up the little one, and said excitedly, "An'an, I'm your grandma."

The little guy is surprisingly heavy when you hold him.

"I'm your grandma." Wang Xiumei was a step too late to hug him, so she could only hold the little guy's hand and look at him longingly.

An'an looked at the two unfamiliar faces, left and right, and then pouted.

"Wow."

The little one started crying loudly again.

"Why is An'an crying? Is he hungry or has he wet himself?" Mrs. Lu asked anxiously.
